Summary: admiring Miles is your favourite way to pass time! Characters/Pairing: E42!Miles x reader Word Count: 325 Warnings: Mention of death, stress A/N: No authors note :))

There is something about watching Miles do his AP Chem homework that has your stomach fluttering. He's leaning over his desk, brows furrowed deep and tip for his tongue slightly peeking through his lips in concentration. He doesn't look as stressed as he usually does, despite what the crease in his forehead might say. He suddenly isn't the Prowler. He's just a 15-year-old boy, doing his chemistry homework that he left to the last minute.

You know he's the Prowler. You knew the minute he came home with a bruise on his face. He couldn't lie to you, not when you had been friends for so many years, and more than friends for over a year now. You tended to his wounds. You stood by him during his grieving, protecting him as he protected his family. You were that barrier that stopped him from growing up even faster; a reminder to him that he was still a teenager, one in need of love and care. Despite his stone-cold look, he was still that same kid that loves his mama and papa more than anything and wanted nothing more than to impress his uncle. The one that dreamt of freedom from his father yet longed for the safety of his hugs. The one that wouldn't let anyone, but his mama braid his hair, claiming that no one else did it the way he liked.

There was a soft call of your name. You realised you had been staring at him, blinking a few times as you came through from your thoughts. "Hm?" You hummed sweetly, that gentle smile on your face. Miles only managed to shake his head lightly, having stood from his chair and sat beside you on his bed. "Said, you could always take a photo. It'll last longer." He winked.

"You are such a shithead!" You laughed, grabbing a pillow and throwing it towards his chest. He caught it effortlessly, laughing with you.

"You sir, are a terrible father." That words rang in Miguel’s drunk mind. Miguel turned off the alarm, and Gabriella was fidgeting with her fingers, feeling sad.

"..I’m sorry dad, I don’t wanna be a bother, and annoy you, I was trying to be better-" Gabriella was cut off by Miguel hugging her tight and sobbing. Miguel’s tears stained Gabriella’s shirt, as Miguel started sniffling.

"No… no don’t say that… you’re not annoying or a bother.. you’re my beautiful daughter… my sunshine."

"…I love you my sweet daughter." Miguel assured Gabriella as he continued to break down, showing his vulnerability.

Gabriella hugged her father tightly, knowing he needed help at the moment, so as a good daughter like her, she said "Your the best dad I ever had Papa."

My Beef with Miguel O'Hara Pt. 2 - A Spiderverse Rant

My goodness, I despise this guy so much I had to make a part two-

If you want the context, you’ll have to read part one because there ain’t no way in HECK I’m repeating myself when I already said everything else.

And once again, I don’t care that this guy has a truckload of simps—I’m gonna beef with this guy till the planet’s gone. And if you read part one, you'd know exactly why even if I do end up being wrong on the 2nd part of this take SPECIFICALLY. I do not care how bonito this man looks, he's major CACA.

Going back to addressing the next point, here’s something I gotta ask y’all:

Don’t you find it weird? Don’t you find it odd? Don’t you find it PECULIAR even... How the one guy constantly going on about the ‘traditional Spider-Man”  Is FAR from BEING the traditional Spider-Man concept?

Look, I am perfectly willing to accept that maybe (just MAYBE) there’s some lore I’m missing here (as I really hope and wish I'm wrong about this as stated in part one), but you can not tell me that he’s a traditional Spider-Man.

First and foremost, the guy has a different hand gesture for even shooting out his webs. He doesn't shoot them in the way Peter traditionally shoots them---no. He shoots them FROM THE UPPER TOP OF HIS WRIST.

And on top of that, the guy didn't even get bit by a spider. HE HAS POWERS BECAUSE HE INJECTS HIMSELF WITH A SERUM! The guy has FANGS that secrete POISON for crying out loud. Which, granted, is pretty cool, but not a 'traditional' Spider-Man.

What other Spider hero within the Spiderverse do you know ALSO acts like a freaking animal after taking their super-meds? NONE---that's some Bane from DC bullcrap.

Even in the gif provided, the guy doesn't look like he's sticking to walls---he looks like he's CLAWING into it in order to stay on it.

He. Doesn't. Even. Have. Spider Sense.

Yep, that's right. The one guy who's hell-bent on the concept of the canon Spider-Man, doesn't even have the STAPLE of the classic Spider-Man powers. Instead he just has 'enhanced eyesight.' Miss me with that bull---

Let's not even get down to the fact that this guy was able to actually have a wife and a kid at some point. That's WAY more than Peter Parker's ever been able to get throughout MOST of his traditional iterations (considering that for some reason it's a canon event for his uncle and/or girlfriend to LITERALLY keep on DYING).

Sure, you could argue that the colors of his Spidey-suit (blue and red) are reflective of the traditional Spider-Man concept, but even then, they're inverted where BLUE is his main color INSTEAD of red.

I have no problem with the fact he strays out of a 'traditional' Spider-Man archetype. My problem is that he fact he strays out of it but then has the NERVE to aggressively police everyone else on standards that he HIMSELF could/can not uphold.

This is why I am so proud of Miles for looking at this man straight in the face and saying, "Are you sure you're even Spider-Man?" Because there ain't no way in DOOKIE that THIS guy---who's so far from the traditional Spider-Man archetype, is the one who's the most obsessed with it.

There's no other way around it for me, this man is a cult leader and that's it.

How the FREAK do Miles and Hobie fit their hair under their masks?

Before anyone tries to gaslight me on this, I myself am a black person. I have an afro. I currently have an afro right now as I'm typing this post. I know how tough it is to tame that thing. So please tell me how Hobie and Miles have these cool big hairstyles, and yet their hair fits under the mask perfectly as if it's completely short (when it's not). It's like all their hair temporarily disappears. That high cut Miles got would make him look crazy when the mask gets on IRL. Not to mention, imagine how crazy it'd look once he took it off. Hobie's result would be even worse. And for those who think I'm overreacting,

i get that miles being sheltered to punk culture/ideas is an easy assumption, considering his parents' attitude towards gwen, but like. i really really want to pose to you all miles morales the graffiti artist, who's incredibly aware that his dad wouldn't defend him if he was arrested, but still believes in and makes public art. miles morales the black scholarship kid at a predominantly white school that treats him in equal turns like a snowflake, a loose cannon and a charity case, who in one of the novels gets suspended for calling out & starting a protest against his racist history teacher. miles morales who in that same novel gave his own cash to a pickpocket he had to stop after giving him a chance to surrender. miles morales who keeps getting told to shut up & back down but doesn't, even if it's "for his own good". miles morales who after being told he'd never fit into a system that should've helped him said "then fuck your system" and electrocuted the leader.

miles morales might not be punk aesthetically, but he gets it. he gets it more than a lot of so-called "punks" do.

Dating headcanons for ATSV Ben Reilly

Note(s) : The reader is a Spider from another universe!

I'm just gonna guess that you mean ATSV Ben! My bad if that's not the case, this might be OOC because I haven't seen the movie since it came out.

He feels like you're so strange and different to him, you don't speak out loud what your emotions are and that's so different from his universe, it's almost like a puzzle that Ben is desperate to solve, even if he can just ask you, audibly guessing is just that much more fun.

Ben isn't too smart with body language, in his universe, everybody says what they're feeling or doing, so if you're somebody who has very neutral expressions, he tends to get confused a lot and misinterpret your actions. He doesn't do this on purpose, and you can always correct him which he fully accepts.

Ben loves to give you things, usually it's a modified version of your web shooter, or maybe extra web fluid, if you're a spider that needs it, a gift that would benefit you and the missions you go on, but he also gives you matching clothing items.

While he'd never trade his blue hoodie for something else, don't even try it's not going to happen, he's willing to wear bracelets, rings, a new belt, etc, etc. Sometimes he makes them, which is usually from one of those crappy DIY bracelet kits, but usually they're one of those couple bracelets with magnets you can click together.

But he might wear a different hoodie for casual clothing, maybe on a date to another universe of one of your own, he's not a suit and tie, fancy dinner type of guy.

He's a clone of Peter, he's going to be broke.

Fully willing to give and receive PDA, the only times he won't is if you don't want to, he always says things audibly so you can know when he'll give you a hug or a kiss, and if you don't want one, then you can just say no or move away.

Ben despises beach dates, the sand gets everywhere, it triggers his spider sense whenever a beach ball gets near him, if you're in your universe or one that isn't like his, people stare when he narrates.

His ideal date is a pizza date, what does that entail? Either, you go to one of those places where you can customise your own pizza, or, you bake your own at home! He thinks it's fun to experiment with flavour and different kinds of pizza.

He just likes pizza, okay?

Specifically Hawaiian pizza.

Ben's a workout boyfriend, he's always lifting, fighting villains, or holding up a helicopter, he's buff, and he also likes to carry you. It doesn't matter how heavy you are, or if you're not heavy at all, he's strong enough to carry you wherever or whenever.

He gets sad whenever you have a mission and he's not paired with you, and vice versa for when he's on a mission and not with you. Sometimes he calls you mid fight, which means either one of you is running from a villain and being all 'awh, I love you!(⁠｡⁠･⁠ω⁠･⁠｡⁠)⁠ﾉ⁠♡' but then a metal tentacle crushes your watch because you were distracted.

Let's hope Miguel finds your or Ben before your atoms dissolve.

Ben isn't too panicked when you're hurt, it all depends on how you're reacting, even if you've broken all of your bones, if you're chill, so is he. Obviously, he's always concerned, and you'll hear 'my beloved is injured, they're hurt and I can't do anything! But I must stay strong, so they can.' But besides that, he's cool.

Speaking of, he has a lot of harrowing memories, and while he doesn't rely on you, he will occasionally seek comfort. Ben will usually just sob into your shoulder for a few hours, and after that, will probably cuddle you and trap you into a snuggle buddy situation, not like you're complaining.

Whenever you're sad, he won't expect you to come to him, but he'll accept you with open arms if you do. Whether you just want to cuddle, or have him in the same room, or if you just want comfort food, or a drink, or whatever. He's fine with whatever you want, and he'll provide whatever you want.

Within reason, obviously.

Ben isn't dumb, yes, he's a bit clueless and tends to get distracted, but he's incredibly smart when it comes to fighting, and he was previously a teacher, (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) so he's completely capable of being a smart ass if you get something wrong. Not in a mean way, just a corrective 'uhm, well actually 🤓' type of way?

He likes to have double dates! Whether Peter is with MJ, or Gwen, or whoever Peter Parker managed to rizz up, given that Peter is sort of like his brother, he likes to spend time with him, and he also likes spending time with you.

I'm tempted to do entire fics on them but- I need to stop before I start overwhelming myself and getting too excited.

Doctor Olivia Odell

Likes - She's always had a strange fascination with ballet, always adores any dances that include sea themes, or long flowy silk.

Dislikes - Any vehicles, cars, helicopters, even bicycles make her nervous and uncomfortable because she has no control. Olivia used to walk everywhere, now, her tentacle situation can help with that.

Favourite food - Fruits, specifically strawberries and blueberries, she loves salads because they can be so diverse with what foods are included.

Least favourite food - Anything spicy, she's always preferred colder foods, and so something hot in temperature let alone flavour is just not her thing.

How does she text? - Usually her texts have very good grammar, even in crisis, she doesn't text often and prefers to use emails in which they're very professional and well structured.

Nationality - English.

What does she think of her fellow Sinister Six members? -

I... Have mixed feelings on the Green Goblin, I believe that his obsession with perfecting... Whatever he was trying to do, was rather immature, and not well thought out, but, I can understand his need for scientific discovery.

Frederick? His connections are useful, and his dedication to his family is admirable, but it gets in the way. He has a soft spot for those younger than him, which, to be fair, is a lot of people.

Marlene is far too bright, my eyes sting just looking at them. They're also very young and unsure. Their powers, however? Now, that's interesting.

Miguel, much like Frederick, has family issues that are too distracting, but, at least he's much more willing to be a firm leader and get the job done.

Mysterio... What do I say about Mysterio?... He's... His illusions are definitely useful...

Norman Osborn

Likes - He likes shiny objects, anything that can spin, and screams. They're loud, they drown out the voices.

Dislikes - Those two boys... He can't remember how he knows them, but he knows it's painful to see them.

Favourite food - Steak.

Least favourite food - Anything with too much grease.

How does he text? - Doesn't bother to check for spelling errors, punctuation, or grammar, and he's barely coherent. Yet, he insists on texting the Sinister Six group chat regularly.

Nationality - American.

Likes - Playing dolls with his daughter, he can't afford much, but his wife passed down a dollhouse with some cute little wooden peg dolls that they play with after school.

Dislikes - Soft beds, he's always preferred a hard surface to sleep on, maybe that's why his back is so horrible.

Favourite food - He likes cereal. It's cheap, the most important meal of the day, they give you a lot of what you need, plus, you can add anything to it.

Least favourite food - Honestly? Anything with an expensive price tag, the cheaper, the better it tastes.

How does he text? - He can't actually write too well and so uses the speech to text feature, it makes his texts get misunderstood regularly.

Nationality - American.

What does he think of his fellow Sinister Six members?

Olivia is strange, she's not a bad co-worker but she's intense. I don't know if she likes me, and I don't know if I like her. At the end of the day, she's just another criminal I gotta work with.

Uh... That guy...? Green Goblin, was it? He's... He's definitely a... Uhm... Person...?

Marlene reminds me of my kid, they're bright, fun, and honestly? I feel bad for them, they shouldn't be in this business, at all, from what they've told me, it was a complete accident.

Miguel, he's strict, commanding, but that's until you share a beer with the guy. He's damaged, I feel for him. Although, that doesn't make me like waking up at five AM any more.

I don't like how Mysterio acts around Marlene. He's just... Weird... At least his technology is useful.

Marlene Diegel

Likes - Ballet and classical music, they're very important to the history of theatre and the entertainment industry in general.

Dislikes - Dull colours and costumes that aren't flashy, in their opinion, if you're going to be a villain you may as well dress the part.

Favourite food - Cake, the ones with heavy icing and cherries on top.

Least favourite food - Chicken, especially with bones in it.

How do they text? - Lots of emoticons and exclamation / quotation marks, they're never professional texting even when it's about a serious mission.

Nationality - German.

What do they think of their fellow Sinister Six members?

I wish I was as smart as Olivia, I admire her, really, but she's honestly not very fun to be around. She's quiet, and kinda boring, but at least her tentacles can hold stuff for me.

Green Goblin gives me the creeps, he's literally green, I thought he was some kind of alien at first. I can't imagine purposefully doing that to yourself.

Frederick is nice to me, I don't know why, but he feels like my dad, or my brother, or just my friend, even if we never get to sit down and talk much, I always enjoy when we do.

Miguel also reminds me of my dad, but how he actually was, and not the feeling of a dad. He's very strict and he kinda scares me sometimes, but he's not doing it in a bad way, or at least I don't think he is?

Mysterio's got a fish bowl for a head, I admire the flair, especially the cape, but it is a little ridiculous, and that's coming from somebody with lighting patterns all over their clothes. There's something about him though, I can't place my finger on it!

Miguel Dominguez

Likes - Taking videos and photos, he originally wanted to be a photographer before joining the army, and he's never managed to get back into the hobby professionally.

Dislikes - Watching sports, he despises how boring it is and how you aren't even doing anything while watching.

Favourite food - Pizza, specifically with jalapenos, barbeque sauce and pineapple, it adds a spicy kick and an interesting flavour combination, which boosts his energy.

Least favourite food - Spaghetti, it was his wife's favourite, even the smell makes him sick to his stomach.

How does he text? - He uses emojis a lot and isn't well versed in how people typically use them, so tends to come off as strange. Very good grammar, but occasionally he will sacrifice a bullet point or capital letter once and a while.

Nationality - Mexican.

What does he think of his fellow Sinister Six members?

Olivia's smart, she put this scorpion tail on me, but, I know what it looks like when someone is being told to do something. That's all I'm sharing.

Green Goblin's more like a pet than a human, why would a man reduce himself to such an animalistic state of mind is beyond me. At least he follows orders, I suppose.

Frederick is a good, hardworking, man. Despite how he acts at first, he is very family centered, and I feel as if we both have an understanding of our relationship as co-workers.

I don't think Marlene's cut out for this line of work.

I appreciate Mysterio and his illusions, the technology is impressive, and he's even added advancements to my tail on more than one occasion. But, he's a bit too... Eccentric, for our missions.

Quinlan Blanchfield

Likes - Baking, specifically after a long day of working behind the stage, the lights, the music, it all gives him a rush, and baking cools him down.

Dislikes - The colour blue, it's always just annoyed him, it's too soft.

Favourite food - Cokie dough, and cookies, but, he's working on trying to convince Olivia to help him find a way to safely consume cookie dough, so far she's uninterested.

Least favourite food - Anything that's salty, he never adds salt to his baking, no matter how much it'll improve it.

How does he text? - Uses words that any regular person would need a dictionary to decipher, he's never had a spelling error or incorrect grammar, yet he also uses emojis occasionally.

Nationality - French.

What does he think of his fellow Sinister Six members?

Olivia is impressive, her advancements are far beyond any others, and I'm not just saying that because her boss funds us and our living situations.

Green Goblin interests me, his state of mind, or lack thereof, his costume, everything is such a point of intrigue, I can't wait to learn more when he starts to regain his memories.

The sand guy? He's annoying, I'm starting to think he's spilling sand into my costume on purpose.

Marlene...? No comment.

Miguel is a great leader, he's strong, strict, everything about him is intense, I admire him, I really do, but his schedules and god, the diet? Don't get me started.

Doctor Olivia Odell - Doc Ock / Doctor Octopus, a marine Biologist who hoped to bridge the gap between human and sea life, she was successful, but had to cross legal corners to do so, leaving her a criminal. Now, she does human and animal experiments to aid those who fund her in their criminal activity.

Age - 32

Norman Osborn - The Green Goblin, a man who was so obsessed with replicating his son's radioactive spider bite, and finding who murdered his wife, that he turned insane. His only thoughts filled with anxiety and primal defense. Both of his sons are now left with a dad too far away from his humanity to care for them.

Age - 47

Frederick Miller - Sandman, a hardened criminal, who, despite serving under corrupt men, only wants to provide for his daughter, even if that means permanently changing his biology and partnering with a sketchy doctor.

Age - 43

Marlene Diegel - Electro, an actor turned criminal after an 'accident' on stage, which leaves them with electrifying powers, and a lengthy criminal record. They were offered help, but by who? And why?

Age - 22

Miguel Dominguez - The Scorpion, a war veteran who jumped at the chance to get closure for his wife's murder, leaving him with a tail permanently infused to his lower spine. He never wanted this job, or to become a strange scorpion human hybrid, but if it'll aid the investigation, he doesn't mind.

Age - 45

Quinlan Blanchfield - Mysterio, a man so obsessed with theatre and illusions that he staged an incident that would permanently ruin the life of an actor, but, unfortunately for him, he was found out and now lives his life on the run, hiding his identity from everybody.

Age - 23

I have more! Like school friends, Spider-Man himself and Black Cat, but I'm reaching the limit of image postings, so ಥ⁠_⁠ಥ

I like polls it's honestly really fun to make them because I'm so indecisive (⁠￣⁠ヘ⁠￣⁠;⁠)

All of these characters exist in my universe, the extra Spider-Man excluded, and the one that's chosen as a love interest is for my alien spidersona, not my main one. The ones who aren't chosen will be my main Spidersonas friends in school as I don't want a love interest for my main spidersona.

Spider-Man Into / Across The Spiderverse Gwen Stacy Headcanons!

Note(s): This is a complete projection on my part, if you disagree then you do you

Gwen in my head is transgender, mainly because I dislike the Gwen's Peter Parker is transgender headcanon as it's only basis is 'skinny boy is bullied so must be trans', despite the fact that every single Peter Parker was bullied and skinny before the spider bite?*

Gwen doesn't like many holidays, especially birthdays, she's just never been much of a fan because of the pressure to love and accept every gift given even if it's something she hates.

She gets along with Spiderbyte really well, they both like video games and have frequent gaming sessions even though Margo is way better than her at them.

She's not Christian but she still prays every dinner with her dad, it's just something that brings them closer together.

Sometimes when drumming Gwen gets too into her feelings, forgets she has super strength, and completely breaks the drum kit. This happens so often people think she's too destructive to be in their bands, she's unfortunately well known after a leaked video of her completely demolishing a drum set.

When she was younger she had a very promising ballet and modeling career, she was even about to get professional jobs, but then the spider bite happened and she had to quit. Sometimes, Gwen wishes she didn't, because she really enjoyed and still enjoys both of them.

Gwen hates visiting the spider HQ because most of them have lost a Gwen Stacy, she doesn't feel like herself when speaking to most Peter's and avoids a lot of them. Not only that, but she can't speak to most Peter's because she lost hers, most spiders can't relate to that, and she's only been able to bond with Miles over it.

Her dad is on the fence with Hobie, as much as he agrees that the system is corrupt, heck he even left because of how much it negatively affected his relationship with his daughter, he also feels that Hobie is too 'radical' in his beliefs. Gwen disagrees heavily and this spawns some arguments between them.

Her dad thinks Miles is great for her, him and Jefferson are sort of friends and chat over barbeque, he also has a tense friendship with Rio and they talk about Gwen a lot, for the better or worse.

Gwen really wanted to impress Miles' parents and tried to learn Spanish to do so, her pronunciation was way off and her sentences were all over the place, Rio may or may not like her less after that.

She's never had many friends besides the Spiders and Peter, so she struggles a lot with speaking to anybody's parents or functioning properly in other people's houses, she's more used to people at her house.

Peter used to stay at her place almost every night and she misses having him at her house, she always stays at Margo, Pavitr, Hobie or Miles' house, and vice versa.

She collects pins, random ones, pretty much any that look pretty. She has an 'i eat kids' one with bibble from the Barbie fairy movie on it, she wears it to family gatherings and her dad side eyes it constantly.

Gwen isn't too good at art, she's horrible at anatomy and the only reason she wants to learn is so her and Miles can spend more time together.

She really likes the taste of some spicy food, but can't handle the heat. The aftertaste is always supreme but she turns into a tomato after one bite and coughs if she eats any more.

Gwen looks up to the MJ of Peter B Parkers universe, she also likes to babysit Mayday even if it always ends in total chaos.

*I don't hate thinking Peter is trans in general, heck I think he's trans in all universes, I only have a problem when people get annoyed at the headcanon of Spider-Man Peter and in general Gwen being trans, and are only fine if it's Spider-Gwen's Peter because he's dead.

How people are treating Hobie Brown, and British punks / people as a whole, reeks of classism, privilege and plain ignorance. It's so painfully obvious when somebody who has no clue about punk history, or even the basic idea of poverty in Britain, writes about or speaks about Hobie and his universe.

Let's also discuss the way people immediately assume Hobie is a thief who has no hygiene, and how that's a god damn issue. There is NO mention in the comics or movie of him not washing himself or being a kleptomaniac, not only that, but aren't wicks hard to maintain? It's obvious he doesn't use 3 in 1.

This assumption of Hobie is racism and that much is obvious, but is also rooted in classist beliefs and common stereotypes about punks used to demonise the movement. People also threw around this 'headcanon' in the first movie with Miles, it's a CLEAR pattern.

Don't even get me started on cishet people in this fandom and how heteronormative / homophobic people are in regards to Hobie. 'B-But Hobies universe is the 70's 🥺🥺 he'd hate gay and trans people...👉👈' Do your god damn research?? The punk and LGBTQ+ movements have always been closely intertwined. I have seen a comic panel where Hobie literally kisses Captain Anarchy, but even if that isn't real and was edited, he is still friends with Captain Anarchy, who's a confirmed gay man.

All in all, please, for the love of god, just treat Hobie Brown like you treat Peter Parker. Treat him like the well written character that he is. He's not some racist, classist stereotype you can push your bigoted beliefs onto.

Just wait until I get onto how misogynistic this fandom is toward Spiderbyte and Spidergwen, don't get me started because I will make another post.

The suit in of itself was so hard to think of but I kinda like it? Needs work but it's alright.

Ehhh I didn't have an idea for the every day outfit so it's sort of something random, it looks more like pyjamas or beachwear, but I'm still satisfied.

I was gonna give them the lil clicky things but decided against it because I already can't draw and didn't want to mess it up further

As their species is naturally spider-like they didn't need to be bit and have built in web shooters

They don't like nature much and prefer technology because of how technology based their planet is.

They're terrified of spiders.

Food isn't too favourable on their planet, so they appreciate foods and drink with diversity in flavours and texture.

Their favourite drink is traditional bubble tea, and their favourite food is pepperoni pizza.

Their species have both reproductive male and female reproduction organs, they don't understand or identify with the human gender or sexuality spectrum because of how culture and biology differ between species.
