People who write fic on mobile genuinely frighten me
5/36 with Toya and Harumichi for the fic prompts!
5. "Come here. Sit down and tell me what's going on."/36. "Please, look at me."
Toya’s… different.
Very different today.
It’s not quiet pride. Something’s actually wrong.
It’s a different type of tension in the house. Not the one that both of them had gotten used to, not the one that has slowly started thawing as time goes on…
It’s so strange that Harumichi finds himself missing a note on Queen of the Night. He hasn’t missed that note since he was a teenager.
“Are you alright?” Narin asks, shocked.
Harumichi sighs, and Toya rushes down the stairs.
“Did someone die?!” He snaps, his eyes wild, and Harumichi shakes his head.
“No, no. I’m sorry. Just… Narin, can you…” He starts, and Narin glides toward his office.
Toya looks at him, and Harumichi motions for him.
“Sit down.”
Toya looks at him confusedly, but he steps over.
He gently sits down, and he looks at Harumichi again.
“What is it?”
Harumichi feels his tongue start to tie up. He’s a better musician than speaker. He doesn’t know where to start.
“Can you tell me what’s wrong?” He finally says, and Toya looks up.
“Nothing’s wrong.” He lies so easily.
When did he become so practiced in the fine art of lying? How many times has he lied without Harumichi realizing?
“Don’t lie to me.”
And Toya just… sighs.
“…Why?” He asks.
“Why what?”
“Why can’t you see me for who I am?”
Harumichi tilts his head.
“What are you talking about? You’re my child, I—”
“That’s it!” Toya snaps. “That’s it! You see me as nothing but your child! As that little boy! Father, in less than two years, I’ll be a man! Why can’t you see me as such?!”
Harumichi shakes his head.
“You’ll understand when you have children of your own. You could be 50, you’ll still be my child.”
Toya tenses up, and his fingers slip into his hair.
“Look at me.” He pleads. “Please, look at me! See me for who I truly am, not who I was!”
Harumichi shakes his head.
“Toya, that is one thing I cannot do!”
Toya chuckles.
“Of course. Of course you can’t. This is why I didn’t want to talk about it. You’ll never allow me to fly free from the birdcage.”
He stalks away, and Harumichi sighs.
Just… sighs.
He’s not a man. He doesn’t understand that he’s not a man yet.
When Harumichi was his age, he made mistake after mistake and almost lost everything until he fell into Narin’s arms. Almost lost his life.
Hatsuaki took after Narin. Kamui’s always marched to the beat of his own drum.
But Toya, he’s just like Harumichi. Despite how they both deny that to each other.
He’s young. He’s desperate.
And he’s going to fall into the wrong arms. The arms of a devil, rather than an angel.
But he can stop history from being twisted. He can keep him away from that devil as much as he can.
And when he taps out those notes, it’s that perfect sonata again.

Fic prompts
“Your hair is really soft after you wash it.”
“Are you blushing?”
“I missed you so much.”
“I’ll keep you warm.”
“Come here. Sit down and tell me what’s going on.”
“Wait a minute. Are you jealous ?”
“Hey, I’m with you okay?”
“C’mere. You can sit in my lap until I’m done working.”
“No no, it’s okay. Come here.”
“Are you wearing my shirt?”
“You are ridiculously comfortable.”
“We should get a puppy.”
“Let’s take a nap.”
“Just let me hold you for a minute.”
“Baby, you’re shaking.”
“I’m sorry for waking you up.”
“How did this happen?”
“Come here, I’ll carry you.”
“Can you read to me?”
“You bought me flowers?”
“No, don’t stop. I like the sound of your voice.”
“I’ll kiss your whole face, don’t even try me.”
“I can’t reach it.”
“Stay, please.”
“Are you seriously giving me the silent treatment?”
“I can take care of myself.”
“You did what?”
“I didn’t know you could sing?”
“Can I sit on your lap?”
“Shut up and kiss me.”
“Hey hey, it’s just me.”
“How drunk was I?”
“Where does it hurt?”
“Hey, just look at me, breath.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Please, look at me.”
“I can’t sleep.”
“Why are you so stubborn?”
“You promised…”
“Please don’t let me fall.”
Ok 30 for IchiSaki
30. “Shut up and kiss me.”
“Icchan…” Saki whines, leaning back in her chair.
“Saki, what’s wrong?” Ichika asks, and Saki puts her head in her hands.
The worst-case scenarios keep running through her head. She’s feeling sick, she ran into someone who was sniffling—
“I’m cold…” She mutters, and Ichika immediately pulls her jacket off and throws it on her.
“I’ll get you a blanket, one seco—!” She starts, and Saki tosses her an amused glance.
“Not blanket cold, Icchan! You’ve gotta realize when a girl wants to cuddle!”
Ichika can feel herself turning red.
“Saki… I thought you were getting sick.”
“Oh, come on, Icchan. I know diseases like to kill me specifically, but I’m not coming down with something every time I say I’m cold! Come here!”
Ichika sighs and moves her chair closer to Saki’s, reaching over to hold her.
“Please don’t scare me like that, Saki…” Ichika groans, and Saki laughs as she curls up into Ichika.
“Oh, Icchan, shut up and kiss me.”
Ichika laughs gently and leans over to plant a kiss on Saki’s lips, and Saki smiles at her.
…And then she sneezes.
“…Allergies?” Saki tries, and Ichika leaps to her feet and grabs a blanket, throwing it around her.
“Come on, bed.”
“Ughhhh, Icchan!”

Hello there!! :) In your PJSK universe, Harumichi and Toya share the same kind of trauma (??) when it comes to their parents. I wonder, will you ever write a fic where they talk about it? Also, will there ever be a fic where Toya tells Harumichi about his suicide attempt? No pressure to write them, but believe me I would eat these fics up.
Hi there! I may or may not write something like that, but if I do it’s going to be after The First Concerto ends up on EN. I think I want to read that and get a feel for how canon did it before either incorporating it or throwing it out the window. I’m glad you like their dynamic, it’s so interesting to me!
Saw this on @resting-meme-face‘s blog and wanted to try it.
Here’s my series for the Reversed Arcanas. I have done Yukiko, Naoto, Yosuke, and Yu. I’m not sure if I’ll do any more but take these for now.
What goes around comes around
Kenshin takes another drink from his beer as the bar blurs around him. His favorite bartender isn’t even in town this week, so he doesn’t get to have his favorite cocktail or talk with someone.
Without her here, he just sinks into the background of the bar as people chatter, expecting to drink until closing and be ignored, as usual.
“You can look right through me, walk right by me, and never know I’m there,” Kenshin sings to himself against the latest idol music the drunk college girls wanted to sing to is.
“Hey, here by yourself?”
Kenshin turns to see a woman with orange hair and a smart suit sits down next to him at the bar.
“You talking to me?” Kenshin asks.
“Is anyone else here worth talking to?”
Kenshin snorts. “No, obviously.” He sticks out his hand. “Kenshin Suzuki.”
The woman takes his hand. “Yoka Tono.”
“So, Yoka-chan, what brings you here for the first time?” Kenshin asks.
“How do you know it’s my first time? Maybe I just come on the days you’re not here.”
“I’m here every day,” Kenshin says. “From work gets out ‘til my sister’s kid gets home from cram school. My sister doesn’t want him seeing me coming home in the middle of the night.”
“Haven’t missed a single day?”
“Nope, not in three years, so I know you’re not a regular.”
Yoka chuckles. “Ok, you caught me. Yeah, I just heard about this place and wanted to get the vibe.”
“The vibe is it’s cheap and they don’t kick you out no matter how much you drink.”
“Sounds like my kind of place,” Yoka says. She orders a beer and chugs it.
“Whoa, now I like a woman who can handle her alcohol.”
“Really? Most men are put off by it.”
“I mean it!” Kenshin says. “I don’t care for all the prissy shit women like my sister are worried about.”
“Tell me about your sister?”
“Ah, she’s a pain in the ass,” Kenshin sighs. “I busted my ass to pay her way through college, and now that she’s a successful corporate bigwig she thinks she can tell me how to live my life. Ungrateful bitch.”
“No wonder you’re here all the time then.” Yoka takes another swig of her beer. “Whoo, strong stuff! I should call a taxi for tonight, don’t wanna be driving after a glass of this.”
Kenshin laughs. “Eh, don’t worry about it. I can take you home.”
“Oh, that gonna be your last glass?”
“Like hell. Nah, when you’ve been drinking as long as I have, as long as you’re awake you’re as good as a sober man. I drive home all the time, no one’s ever noticed.”
“Never? Really?”
“‘Cause I’m not stupid. I know how to drive, even when I’m drunk.”
“Still, seems risky,” Yoka says. “Car accidents cause a ton of deaths and–”
“Oh my god stop it, you sound like my sister,” Kenshin says. “I know the damn statistics, and they happen when people are sober and when they’re drunk. The difference is I’m smart, and know to be careful.”
“Oh,” Yoka says slowly. “So if you were driving home late at night, trying to get back to your apartment before your sister’s kid came back from cram school, and saw a couple of kids crossing the street, you’d slow down right?”
“Brats oughta get out of the way,” Kenshin says. “Pedestrians have the right of way, it’s a load of crap. What are they gonna do if I hit them?”
“But you’ve never been in a situation like that?”
“No,” Kenshin says. “Never.”
“Even last week?” Yoka asks. “Last week you weren’t driving home in a white car with your license plate, jumped the curb, hit a young man, and then drove away?”
“Lady, the fuck are you talking about? You a cop or some shit?”
“No,” Yoka says. “But I am an attorney, and the mother of the boy who was with the one you hit last week. The one who now needs extensive surgery because of you. And I look forward to seeing you in court.”
