**Update For the people asking I asked her and she bought the frog tea set HERE 🐸
I never listen to men’s opinions in general but ESPECIALLY when it comes to movies. you’re going to tell, as a man, that the barbie movie was bad? you just can’t possible understand the complexities of the transition between girlhood and womanhood that happens before it should. you have no idea what it’s like to cling so desperately onto your own imagination as an adult after spending your pre-teen/teenage years pretending that playing with dolls and wearing pink was so beneath you. you don’t understand fighting with your mother only to one day realize she is living through you and doing all that she can to make sure you go leap and bounds further than her. men couldn’t possible grasp the impact watching Barbie herself cry and say she wasn’t perfect or pretty anymore, when your whole childhood was built around carrying her in your backpack and knowing that one day you’ll be the president, an astronaut, and a model because she was. because she was yours and you were her! yeah, the movie was silly and funny and self aware and maybe you don’t think it’s “that deep”, but as a woman you just get it. as someone growing up still in your childhood bedroom that no longer has a dream house but the dolls are still above you in the attic because you can’t throw them out, you get it
Has this one been done yet?
the thing that gets me about about barbie is that barbie land wasn’t even purposefully a matriarchy, barbie land came about because of the way little girls were playing with their barbies, it wasn’t created by mattel it was created by the people using the toys, so the fact that the barbies ignored the ken’s and had girls night every night wasn’t because they had some bias against him, it was just an accurate depiction of how kids play with barbies. I had some ken dolls as a child and they were essential to the plot in the sense that of course my barbie has a boyfriend because that represented the world i saw around me, but also he didn’t have any purpose in my dream world because i was only interested in what the girls were doing because they represented me and how i wanted to be, I wanted girls night every night I wanted the girls to be president and austronauts and not because of some inherent feminist idea but because I was a girl and I wasn’t thinking about boys, ken was an accessory. this movie wasn’t made to change the world but it showed a different perspective than what we usually see which I thought was fun. Men don’t have to be the centre of all our stories and its not even because we hate them, sometimes we’re just not thinking about them

miwi headcanons!!!
- we're always talking about miwi being cute (and they were!!) but i bet they were also those really weird kids that ate grass, sand and leaves
- mike would totally be grabbing random bugs and will would be kinda grossed out but also interested in it
- they would play pretend of the weirdest things like mike would play as a rock and will would be a little lizard
- will used to make little doodles all over mike's face and one time he mistakenly used a permanent pencil so they had to scrub at mike's face for a hour to get the ink out and even then there were still some doodles there the next day
- they used to have a little code that they've created that only the two of them knew about and sometimes their moms would find these little notes with cryptid symbols on them and would be very confused about it
- mike always shared everything he was eating with will, going from normal things to share like snacks to unhinged things like lollipops. once nancy caught them sharing a lollipop and was very grossed out by it, she went on a rant about all the germs they were sharing but they didn't care about it
- when will was at mike's house for sleepovers, sometimes they would sneakily get karen's cheesy romance novels to read because they thought it was super funny and embarrassing. they would keep quoting lines from the book to each other and lucas and dustin were always like....wth are those two on?🤨
- mike would get the weirdest things he could find to castle byers and they would look at them throughout the whole day in will's microscope, sometimes he would go out of his way to grab this one specific thing that he thought will would like to look at and he wouldn't stop bothering everyone who was around until he got it
- and obviously they were very touchy feely with each other and they would often find excuses to keep doing that, so one time they were having a sleepover and mike suddenly realized that he didn't have another sleeping bag so now unfortunately will would have to share with him :/ lucas was like...you know he can just sleep on couch right.?🤨 and mike went on this rant about all the negative points of will sleeping on the couch until everyone just gave up and let them do their thing
Canon Remus was not a hardened orphan living in a group home. He was a chronically ill child raised by loving parents that were willing to FIGHT DUMBLEDORE to protect him. (Literally, Lyall DILF Lupin thought he was coming to take Remus away when Dumbledore personally delivered Remus' Hogwarts Letter)
So no, Remus was not a smooth-talking 7-ft-tall Casanova badass sex God with rippling muscles. He had zero friends before attending Hogwarts due to the fact that his loving parents kept him isolated out of fear that their son's Lycanthropy would be discovered, which would have ruined his life.
Canon Remus was most likely a timid, awkward, sheltered kid that was afraid of his own shadow because Hogwarts would be such an overwhelming experience for a little boy that has never interacted with another child in his LIFE and probably never even left his own home before. I imagine that books were his only connection to the outside world, which is why I can't stand the HC that he is completely illiterate when he first arrives at Hogwarts
tldr, Remus Lupin is the love of my life and is one of the few Marauders era characters with an actual backstory and personality, but this fandom just refuses to move on from a singular fic that completely rewrote everything about him.
And I'm not even going to start on how the Alpha Male-ification of Remus has also resulted in the complete assassination of Sirius' character for the sake of internalized heteronormativity that runs rampant in this fandom.
The Barbie movie really said. Yes you will grow up and childhood wonder will vanish. Yes you will grow up and learn to hate yourself, your body, your awkwardness. Yes you will grow up and lose your confidence and certainty and sense of purpose. Yes you will grow up and the world will seem a bleaker, lonelier place every day, and society will seem bleaker and lonelier every day, and you won’t understand what went wrong in the span of just a few years, what took you from a happy and secure young girl to a sad, uncertain, scared grown woman.
And yet. You will learn to find beauty again. You will find joy in not having a purpose, in building a purpose for yourself. You will find beauty in connection, with the people and the world around you. You will learn to love signs of ageing as proof of a life well lived, of experience and happiness. You will take that little girl by the hand and tell her “I know, this isn’t what you thought it would be, but it’s real. Let me show you how beautiful it can be.”
Venom 4 but it’s just venom and eddie reuniting (venom is the cockroach trust me on this), have a very detailed sex scene, sleeper is born, then the last hour and a half is just them trying to figure out how to raise a symbiote child and start a family like they wanted. Post credit scene is dylan being introduced
