Severing Hell's Leash by @lavenoon is so SO good guys π₯Ή a what-if where Jim returns Angor Rot's ring. A redemption arc for Angor and I just LOVE IT SO MUCH ππππ
Here are some art I make from the fic. There's more but I'll post them later :D
The one above is when Jim returns Angor Rot's ring soul back, but only with a few conditions (and they're plotting against Strickler mwahahahah)
This one below is a scene in Jim's house basement. Strickler and Draal are in the living room while Jim confronts Angor about something.
Ugh UGH antagonist seeing the hope in the young hero's eyes for him dimming (but it feels so easier for him to think that the hope is gone because how can he measure up to what the naive boy expects from him?)
Saw this in the Pinterest and I was like 'hey this would fit with Kanao'
A scene from the latest chapter of kny x tfp crossover, Redemption
[KNY spoiler]
Do you guys think that Sanemi and Kanae often disagree on their different treatment over Shinobu and Genya,
and when they watch the lights faded in their little siblings' eyes as Kanae dies in Shinobu's arms, and Sanemi watches Genya crumbling away,
do you wonder, at that time, if they think " You were right, Sanemi/Kanae. "
I like how Tanjirou literally reminds everyone he met of the people they cherished.
Shinobu looks at Tanjirou and thinks of Kanae
Kyoujuro looks at Tanjirou and thinks of that young boy that admired him in the Final Selection ( this one is from the Gaiden )
Sanemi looks at Tanjirou and thinks of Masachika. ( He also looks at Nezuko and thinks of Genya )
Giyuu looks at Tanjirou and thinks of Sabitou ( cause Tanjirou had met his ghost )
Gyomei looks at Tanjirou and thinks of the children he used to take care of.
Muichiro looks at Tanjirou and thinks of his dad.
Even Akaza looks at Tanjirou and thinks of his teacher.
Boy really gives of the warm and comfort vibes, allowing people around him to remember the moments they had with their cherished ones.

" There's a saying somewhere, to be careful when making deals with witches. " Angor Rot twirled the blade in his hands, sheathing them with a swift motion. " Lest one's fate be doomed. "
You raised your eyebrows but said nothing. The bodies of fallen knights around the two of you went ignored.
Angor continued. " You need something. " His firm, but not unkind tone indicated he was doing his role as the warrior of his village trolls, a protector he was.
His eyes trailed over to the mountain of sacks slumping over the roots of a tree behind you, the mixed scent of animal blood and greens could be detected easily with his enhanced scent. You shifted on your spot, tightening your grip on your magical staff.
" I bring animal coats that can be used for clothing material. " You offered, voice low. " Various herbs that can work on trolls too. You may find usefulness in my magical ability as well. "
Angor Rot turned his eyes back on you. Half a year since he last saw you, but the sharp and yet gentle gaze in your eyes still stirred something in him. He couldn't remember if he had ever seen you falter. Not now, even if you were just surrounded by men brandishing their weapons on you. You didn't falter at the slightest as you pierced their hearts with beams of magic, rendering them to a pile of corpses to be taken by the forest sooner or later.
He didn't need to ask what happened; not when the rims of your clothing were smeared with pinches of black, dusty ashes, and the loosely bandaged hands of yours that had charcoal like smell. Not when he recognized the kingdom symbols on the knights' armours, worn so proudly as they rode down to villages in search of their targets.
Certainly not when he knew of the fate that had befallen witches and magic involved creatures alike nowadays.
He walked over to you. " I'll put in good words for you with the elders. Lucky you, I have a room to spare. "
His steps paused at seeing the wave of relief washing over you so clearly. You exhaled a large breath, your knee buckling slightly and you ducked down your head.
" I didn't know where to go. I apologize for the trouble -- "
" Don't, " he said, kneeling down, " apologize for surviving. You did well. "
Angor Rot wouldn't mind if you cried, but the smile appearing on your face as you looked up at him rose a single thought that flickered in him even if it was just for a second; that he would do anything for you.

Here's a fun scenario!!!
Basically, maybe in the beginning of season 1 or around Part 2, Nomura accidentally finds a relic that may have belonged to a demon, their demon art being able to control time. She keeps it in the museum for storage to be taken to the Janus Order for study.
Only for A. In events of "Waka Chaka" the relic is broken or activated and the demon uses it to escape to present Arcadia. Or B. After "A Battle of Two Bridges" a museum work mistakes the relic as a display piece and puts it up, leading to the same scenario.
But not just the demon is taken to Arcadia but also the Demon Slayers the had been chasing it, being Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke.
The group is not only stuck in the modern era, but we're the land and language is so new and unfamiliar. Even more confusing is the boy in shining armor seemingly protecting some stone "demons".
(finally managed to answer an ask idk what's going on with my blog)
(update: I can answer this one only for now huhhhh anyway)
That's a fun scenario to think of! I also weighted the option of time traveling but didn't think to put a demonic relic π€ I once thought of having Yushiro being involved in the Trollhunters stuff starting off with his drawn portrait of Tamayo being hung in the museum (because it's one of his oldest painting and he used very old and antique painting set)
Your idea will be fun to explore! I'd imagine this being set at the option B because wohoo the CHAOS there would be so so messy.
Like in Jim's POV, he suddenly sees four unknown people stumble out of nowhere in eastern clothing and brandishing swords he recognizes as katanas (and the girl doesn't seem human???) and in Tanjirou's POV, he and his friends get transported into another world in the middle of a fight and what what are those demons they don't smell like demons wait WAIT INOSUKE I DON'T THINK THEY'RE DEMONS DON'T KILL THEM YET --
But everyone probably focuses more on the fact that they're people to protect, so Tanjirou and his gang try assisting Jim and the others despite the absolute confusion and language barrier.
The way Bular and the changelings and the goblins suddenly get overpower only by the appearance of four teenagers is bewildering like these kids aren't like Jim and Toby -- they CAN and WILL take lives. This makes Jim and Toby flabbergasted too as they watch the slayers actually don't hesitate in chopping limbs and aiming for the necks.
Surprise surprise Draal manages to have a quick but informative conversation with the slayers in the middle of the fight like he suddenly speaks fluently in Japanese (Nomura let out some Japanese curses as well) and it's a huge help to the others so they can have better coordination in fighting against Bular.
Once the bridge is down and the changelings are gone off sights, Jim and Toby have to stand as a shield of sorts between their troll friends and the slayers because suddenly the katanas are all pointed towards them.
" They don't smell like a demon. " Tanjirou says. " But they are vulnerable to the sunlight as well. "
" Drop your swords! They're not dangerous! " Jim can't help but to snarl. He's exhausted. Draal just has his right arm turned into stone and the others are not left unscathed from the battle.
These new incomers are powerful -- probably the strongest humans Jim has ever seen. They are warriors, he can tell. They have experiences. He's forever thankful that these slayers are on the good side at least.
" Do you eat humans? " The question is directed to the blue troll.
" No. " Draal answers in Japanese, his breath is heavy and tired.
The slayers exchange glances. Zenitsu can tell that there's nothing but truth in their claims. Nezuko doesn't seem alarmed as well. Inosuke decides to let his comrades lead the situation next. Then, they drop down their arms to their sides.
" So, " Toby looks around at the mess, " what now? "
This can probably be a very long one shot or some chapters. I imagine the slayers have to stay in the trollmarket (with Nezuko and all) because staying together is a better option. They'd try to explain what they work as and get accustomed to the modern world.
Inosuke absolutely loves the training ground, cackling as he dodges the swinging blades and leaping over moving tiles. Everyone gets another whiplash at seeing his beautiful face. Zenitsu jumps at every second a troll walks past him but he feels safer around Aaarrrgghh (cause he thought the gentle giant could shield him from danger).
Nezuko spends most of her time sleeping. She surprises some trolls with her strength. They compare her to gnomes, and this sparks out some angry rambling from Tanjirou who keeps claiming that she's a beau.
Tanjirou offers to help Jim in terms of stamina and muscle management with total concentration breathing. Their swordsmanship is different so there's that. Blinky thinks it'd be good to have Jim battling against an opponent with different style fighting and Tanjirou is yet to be defeated. He encouraged Jim and is very humble so he gets along with everyone.
This is all I can think of for now, but this is a joy and interesting idea to think of.
Can we please see more of your KNY Roleswap AU?
What was his name again? That boy had a twin too, right? They were with the Kakushi, but right now, as Nezuko wiped away her sweats, she noticed that this twin was alone and wasn't in an attire like the kakushi. Instead of the brown uniform set with masks, the boy wore something resembling a slayer's. He was sitting by himself on the porch, and despite the cloudy eyes, his eyebrows were furrowing as if he was in a deep thought.
Nezuko decided to greet him.
" Excuse me. " She said with a bright smile. " Hello, I am Nezuko. "
The boy snapped out of his trance, turning to look at her. He blinked, not responding to her for a moment before nodding.
" I know you. You're the slayer that carries a demon around. "
The girl scratched her cheek, her smile turned nervous. " Guess I don't really have a good reputation now, do I? You're one of the twin right? I've seen you working with the Kakushi. "
" Yes. I am Tokitou Muichiro. " The boy introduced himself.
Nezuko took a seat next to him. " If I may ask, why are you wearing a different uniform than before? Did the fabric tear or something? I can fix it! I am very good with needles and sewing! " She patted her chest confidently.
Muichiro tilted his head, a ghostly smile on his face as he looked down to his uniform. " The Moon Hashira gave it to me. He's...a relative. " His expression dropped, a rather sad pout made with his lips. " When my twin and I were toddlers, our parents were attacked by a demon. The Moon Hashira saved us and took us in. He started to train us to become slayers but then we decided to stop halfway and instead became a kakushi instead. "
" I am not one to judge, but why stopping halfway? " Nezuko wondered.
Muichiro sighed. " My brother suddenly claimed that he didn't want to become a slayer -- he also forbid me to become one too. The Moon Hashira -- Kokushibou -- respected out decision and let us be. But I know Kokushibou was disappointed. He saw potential in me and my twin. This uniform was a handmade for me when I become a slayer. It didn't happen, but I am wearing this right now because my kakushi uniform got dirty and is currently being hung under the sun. This is the only one clothing I have for now. "
" I see. " The dark-haired girl hummed. " So...since you went along with your brother, I guess you didn't want to become a slayer? "
Muichiro flinched, a single sweat dropped. He bit his lips and looked away, earning a suspicious look from Nezuko. She leaned forward a little, trying to get a better look on the boy.
"...You want to become a slayer? "
With hesitance, and very slowly, Muichiro nodded, glancing at her from his shoulders.
Nezuko frowned. " Then why didn't you say anything to your brother? To Kokushibou-san? "
" It's...not that easy, Nezuko. My brother -- Yuichiro -- I know that he means well and he always takes care of me...but he has a rather violent reaction. I am sure he would be angry if he knows that I am still willing to become a slayer. "
" Have you try talking to him? "
" I shrunk at the high volume of his voice whenever he yells. "
" Well, this is unfair to you! " Nezuko huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. " If your brother can't even listen to you, then I am going to make him! "
Muichiro's eyes widened at the sight of the girl going to her feet, a stern expression on her face as she placed her hands on her hips. He unconsciously grabbed the sleeve of her shirt, tugging her back down.
" I don't think that would be wise. " He reasoned, still surprised at how she immediately decided to face Yuichiro to defend him.
Nezuko turned, slipped her hands around the boy's hands and held it firmly. " If it's not me who do the talking, then you will! You have a voice to defend your right! It's the heart that drives the people, Muichiro. If your heart tells you to follow the path of being a slayer, then follow your heart! "
She patted his shoulder encouragingly. " You can do this! I wish you good luck! All right, I need to go back to training or Douma-san will hunt me down. See you again, Muichiro! Oh, and if your brother still refuses to listen to you, then tell me and I'll go straight to him."
The girl turned and walked away. Muichiro stuttered a little and stumbled in his steps as he stood up. " Wait! W-What will you do if you have to go see my brother? "
Nezuko turned around. " I'll make sure to talk some sense into him! Everyone has the right to voice out their opinions. You have the right to decide what you want to be, Muichiro. You can be whatever you want to. No one else should tell you what you have to be. Just you. "
When she gave him a smile, it was as if the air was knocked out of his lungs. Is it the lighting? She looked as twice as beautiful than the first time he saw her. Muichiro felt his neck getting warmer, noticing there was an increasing beating of his heart in his chest.
" Take care! " Nezuko waved her arm, disappearing into a corner.
Muichiro looked down to his uniform, his hands twisting the fabric in his grips. He closed his eyes and steadied his breathing. One last deep inhale and exhale, he opened back his eyes and a flash of determination were seen in his eyes.
Time to seek Yuichiro.
You get to choose between saving one person, or a whole bunch of others.
Hurry, make a choice
(and yet he didn't.)
What a I love about this scene:
1. Tanjirou having a panic attack, his breathing gets messy and unsteady
2. The background music and soundtrack, the voice acting is so good too! Love how they make the sounds of struggling, cries and shrieking in pain.
3. Nezuko realizing that they are at the mercy of time and decides to make the decision instead
