shout out to all the people who identify with gifted kid burnout syndrome who are probably just neurodivergent but werent diagnosed as a child, who used to devour books like it was nothing and never really understood why the protagonist would leave their cool fantasy world behind to go back home at the end of the story, and who are now extremely disappointed in reality and use escapism as their primary coping mechanism. howâs that bisexuality and deep-rooted anger at the school system going for you?
I would indeed

thanks for letting me talk about a piece of media i love with you and responding in earnest interest with the intent of checking it out for yourself because of my recommendation. also how do you feel about being kissed directly on the mouth
Earlier today, I served as the âyoung womanâs voiceâ in a panel of local experts at a Girl Scouts speaking event. One question for the panel was something to the effect of, âShould parents read their daughterâs texts or monitor her online activity for bad language and inappropriate content?â
I was surprised when the first panelist answered the question as if it were about cyberbullying. The adult audience nodded sagely as she spoke about the importance of protecting children online.
I reached for the microphone next. I said, âAs far as reading your childâs texts or logging into their social media profiles, I would say 99.9% of the time, do not do that.â
Looks of total shock answered me. I actually saw heads jerk back in surprise. Even some of my fellow panelists blinked.
Everyone stared as I explained that going behind a childâs back in such a way severs the bond of trust with the parent. When I said, âThis is the most effective way to ensure that your child never tells you anything,â it was like Iâd delivered a revelation.
Itâs easy to talk about the disconnect between the old and the young, but I donât think Iâd ever been so slapped in the face by the reality of it. It was clear that for most of the parents I spoke to, the idea of such actions as a violation had never occurred to them at all.
It alarms me how quickly adults forget that children are people.
thug life? more like hug life. come here
we act like the derry girls get into wild shenanigans because theyâre teenagers when mary and sarah were literally caught stealing jewellery off a corpse and joe was prepared to take on a polar bear with a tranquilliser gun. that is cross generational poor decision making, that is grade-A genetic stupidity

This makes me feel so much better! Many of these "reblog or else" posts contain really triggering topics for me, but at the same time my anxiety means that I feel horrible if I don't do it. I know I'm not the only one. I know these posts won't make my blog "ugly", but they will trigger me every time I look back through my post history. For anyone who still wants to reblog them that's ok, but it would be amazing if you tw tagged them before doing so â€ïž
Stop guilt tripping people into reblogging your posts. No one has to reblog it; theyâre not a bad person for choosing to reblog your aesthetic posts over your other posts that have to do with war and tragedy. Many of us are on tumblr to get away from seeing that stuff everywhere; many of us get anxiety attacks when we see it. It takes a toll on your mental health. Maybe they donât reblog it on here, but they share it and talk about it outside of tumblr. Maybe tumblr is their happy place.
You donât know the reason why someone doesnât want to reblog something like that.
To my followers: you donât ever have to reblog a post. Period. No matter how manipulative it may seem, you are never obligated to reblog it.
YOUR đ SYMPTOMS đ ARE NOT đ YOUR FAULT
can we weaponize comfort already?Â
a lot of places have a culture that valorizes never sleeping and not eating right and not taking breaks and stuff like that.Â
fuck that. I want like
look at how comfortable and well rested I am. I am well-nourished, I take bubble baths, and I have a good work-life balance.Â
self-care has made me strong. has running yourself into the ground made you strong?
I will destroy you. and then I will have a pleasant lunch.
can we weaponize that?
stop telling your teenage daughters who say they donât want kids that theyâll change their mind
