Diving into the mythology surrounding Fushiguro’s shikigami Makora. Disclaimer first: I am no expert, just a humble myth buff.
This is the hand seal (mudra) Fushiguro make to call forward his domain expansion. This mudra is associated with deity Bhaisajyaguru (薬師如来). Bhaisajyaguru is Buddha of healing from Mahayana Buddhism and known also as Yakushi Nyorai in Japan. Yakushi Nyorai has been known to release disease and pain from sick people. The believe of Yakushi Nyorai is the first to develop in Japan after the introduction of Buddhism to Japan.
Yakushi Nyorai is also the Buddha at the center of the Twelve Heavenly Generals (十二神将 read as Juuni shinshou) legends. Originally, the Twelve Heavenly Generals are yaksha or devils who were converted to Buddhism because of Yakushi Nyorai’s teaching. They are then tasked to protect Bhaisajyaguru and his followers.
So it is not actually surprising that one of Fushiguro’s shikigami is based on one of the Heavenly Generals.

With at least three officers on his legs and back — and yet another applying a knee to his head and neck — the Black man in his 40s cries out “I can’t breathe” multiple times.
“Relax!” an officer says. “Stop resisting.“The man’s shrieks and utterances become groans. His body goes limp, he falls silent, and vomits.Moments later in the bodycam footage, an officer can be heard saying, "He’s dead.” CASUALLY.
In 2017, Muhammad Abdul Muhaymin Jr. tried to take his dog with him to the bathroom at a city community center in west Phoenix. The police were called, discovered he had a warrant for his arrest, and decided to detain him.
At least four officers got on top of him and held him down. Some put their knees on his neck and head.
“I can’t breathe,” Muhaymin is heard saying several times in police body camera footage. When officers eventually got off him, Muhaymin had no pulse, according to comments from officers in the video, and lay in a pool of his own vomit.
He was 43, unarmed and black”
The death of Muhaymin is the subject of a $10 million lawsuit his sister filed in U.S. District Court in Arizona. The lawsuit is against the 10 officers, a city parks and recreation employee and Phoenix. The Phoenix Police needs to be restructured by better training officers and doing better background checks on officers while giving Muhammad and his family the justice he deserves by putting the murderers who killed him in jail.

So, now that Dabi has come out as Touya and the Todorokis know that he’s alive, I wanted to put my thoughts out there about where the family’s arc is headed. What I think Horikoshi has planned (or what I think would make sense) for the family’s healing and to crystalize Shouto’s understanding that his fire quirk is his own and not an extension of Endeavor’s, is for Shouto to save Touya. How do I think Shouto will accomplish that?
Redeeming the fire quirk that both brothers inherited from Endeavor. See, I think there’s a distinction between Endeavor the person and his quirk. Out of both, I don’t think Endeavor is the one that will receive redemption.
Why do I think that?

I’ll discuss my thoughts about how the Todorokis’ view Endeavor’s flames and how Shouto will save his brother under this read-more cut, with specific mentions of Endeavor, Rei, and Natsuo:
