Jaheira: I’d like you to take the time to learn the Baldur’s Gate mantra. Jaheira is always right. I will listen to Jaheira. I will not ignore Jaheira’s recommendations. Jaheira is a God. And if this ever happens again, Jaheira will personally rip your lungs out.

I imagined Khalid’s mother as a Wild Elf before she was enslaved and sold by merchants. But maybe a Painted Elf of the Calim Desert…!

Painted Elves
More closely related to wild elves than high elves, painted elves commonly dwell in petrified forests-which in ages past, they claim, were their ancestral homes. The painted elves take their name from the nature of the wastes in which they dwell, but also from their habit of camouflaging themselves with pigments derived from the mineral deposits found in such places. Though they rarely see visitors-since painted deserts and petrified forests offer little in the way of treasure— painted elves are extremely distrustful of outsiders, and can turn on guests at the slightest provocation.
Painted elves are in most regards identical to wild elves, as outlined in the Monster Manual (which in turn are based on the high elf detailed in the Player's Handbook).
The exceptions to the standard Player's Handbook elf are summarized below:
• +2 Dexterity, -2 Intelligence: Painted elves are every bit as graceful and agile as high elves, but they are a bit more limited in their understanding of the world around them, having experience with little more than their own petrified domains.
• Favored Class: Druid. A multiclass painted elf's druid class does not count when determining whether he takes an experience point penalty for multiclassing.

Thinking about SoD rn, and how big of an impact it probably had on Khalid. I like to imagine it was such a big step forward for his confidence in being put in a leader position.
Like, he went from 'never wanting to lead ever due to anxiety in a leader role' to 'would probably prefer not to but would be happy to step in if needed'
And I think the 'if needed' would become alot more frequent as time passed.
Too bad he dies in bg2, imagine how he could be in bg3, so much more confident in his abilities, so much more willing to lead alongside Jaheira instead of stepping back at letting her do things.

@harpershigh // how dare you ask me to show off my mods. don't you know bg3 is my favorite dress up game??? Also, pspspsps any bg3 followers, if you wanna see what your muse looks like in my file feel free to ask.
So the off-the-shoulder are her camp clothes. The other three are armors that I can't choose between, though I mostly keep her in the harper bump up looking one (the last one). She also has her double blades, ofc. Forgive me for putting a little make up on her in my file. I just think she looks cute with the little cat eye lines😭
Idk if you have any mods yourself, but legitimately if you ever come across something online and you wanna see her in it let me know. As I said, BG3 is my favorite dress up game and I treat it as such LOL.
i can't get over this random dude writing self-insert friend fiction about the ketheric battle

I agree
Khalid: As t-t-team leader, I say we should run away.
Khalid: For the record, screaming in terror will not be looked down upon.
Oh just stab me in the heart and it would hurt less than this.
