To start with, his life started with his quirk hurting other people. Whether you subscribe to the headcanon that he was orphaned because of that or not, it's definitely the kind of thing that would fuck somebody up. But despite his powerful, dangerous, terrifying quirk, he still gets into The hero school, where he can use it to help people instead.
And then instead it's taken from him, twisted around, and used in the attack that kills his best friend. Maybe he didn't deal the killing blow himself, but he followed an order that he should have second guessed. He wasn't there with his friends to help them. He's part of the reason that Oboro is dead. He can't even allow himself to grieve then because his quirk had already done enough damage. And that's going to fuck him up even more.
So now there's Shouta. He's obviously fucked up by this. He was right there and couldn't stop anything. He didn't even realize Oboro was dead until after it was all over. We're clearly shown that he's fucked up by this. But. Oboro's death also motivates him to become a better, stronger hero. Is he coping well? No. But his poor coping mechanisms seem to be entirely self contained.
And Hizashi? Shouta is Hizashi's coping mechanism. We see that he's dedicated himself to making sure Shouta's okay, trying to pull him back into things. But he's also build up a wall around himself that he only lets down around Shouta. Except Shouta doesn't even see it. He's just...shut everything that could hurt him out. Including Hizashi.
The last thing we see of them is Shouta erasing Hizashi's quirk. And then we're not even shown if Hizashi is around Shouta in the first few years after graduation. Shouta spent the rest of his time at UA learning to be self reliant and cementing the idea that he was better off on his own.
But Hizashi's ability to cope seems to have been entirely dependent on Shouta's presence. And he lost him too. And that had to have fucked him up even more.
Ok so some bit ago I learned that why humans fingers and palms prune up in water is to get a better grip in water
What if aliens don’t have that funky little feature?
So imagine a human and their alien group are trapped in a little area and there’s a bunch of water and it’s rising (absolutely terrifying experience) and the aliens are trying to get a grip on the kinda rough wall and can’t but they look at the human and are shocked because they’re clinging to the wall like a spider
So ima say they get out safely and they update the human guide/manual
“Humans gain sticky hands in water”
Reading your posts feels like eating a banana, it’s kinda tingly and itchy and makes me very uncomfortable but I also like it too much to stop
you are allergic to bananas
Humans are weird
Have yall noticed how we somehow have strange aversions towards lights?? Like maybe not all of us, but we kind of know that if someone is sitting in the dark, you either leave them or join them. Like last night, I walked into class and there was just one guy there and the lights were off so i just sat down, 30 minutes later everyone else was in and the lights were still off. Only turned it on when the professor came in...
So like imagine aliens finding us huddled in a dark room, with our phones and what-nots, silently laughing at something we read, maybe there are other aliens with us who doesn’t really like light but we don't know that cus it's dark and also we didn't bother to check. Then one crewmate just turns on the lights and we all collectively hiss like a vampire or hide like bugs, so they just turn it back off and stumble blindly into the room until they find—feel through whatever they came for and leaves. No one ever mentions it.
this comic broke into my home and terrorized me for weeks
(something something looking out for someone who looks out for others and by extension being the one they don't really have to worry about and how that comes off as being kind of the last on their list and the guilt/privilege of it all)
Aliens witness humans going “Babyyyy” when they see other animals and mistakenly believe that humans are liable to believe ANYTHING is a member of their young if it acts/appears similar enough; this has resulted in MULTIPLE cases where aliens leave their children at human orphanages instead of on their own world because of humanity’s pack bonding ability and it becomes some huge scandal where aliens are like.
“Manipulating them into taking care of our own young is immoral”
and
“Have you seen humanity? The moment they figure out what we’re doing, they’re freak out and go on a murder spree!”
Meanwhile, humanity is just like ‘sweet, we’re taking care of alien kids… we can handle this :)’
Bonus points if a human brings something like a puppy on board a ship and call it by saying ‘babyyyy!~’ and, despite knowing that it is DEFINITELY not a human infant, they try to treat it as such despite the fact that it is not a human.
Humanity appreciates this.
Bakugo: You kept your old boyfriends’ gifts?!
Izuku: Yeah, it’s not a big deal.
Bakugo: What have you kept?!
Izuku: They’re just practical stuff, like our pepper grinder.
Bakugo: The grinder I pepper my food with?!
Izuku:…Yeah. And then there is the bird feeder.
Bakugo: Birdfeeder, so your old boring ass boyfriend wanted me to have bird shit all over my car.
Izuku:…That was never the intention.
Compliment your harpy gf - and she's gonna compliment you back Information about them is here More comics by the Pticenoga tag; even more stuff is here
The frog is pretty easy to spot here
Hizashi: can we please just go out for dinner later tonight?
Shouta, drunk as hell: i already TOLD you i will NOT go on a date with a married man!
Hizashi: YOURE my husband!
Shouta: NO EXCEPTIONS
“This is Agent Izuku Midoriya”, Izuku says. “Agent Midoriya”, All For One’s voice grates something deep in Izuku as he speaks, “Not going to see me in person?” “I’m not cleared to do that” “What a pity”, the man replies. “Why did you want to speak to me?” “I keep tabs on you Agent”, the man says, “You’ve made life a lot harder for my colleagues overseas”
