how have i NOT considered past-regupete who broke up when regulus got marked and peter who watches the reactions to regulus' death. peter who sees sirius not care (he does, he just don't show it), who sees everybody just accept it whilst he's still stuck in the astronomy tower watching regulus laugh for the first time - properly laugh, with his whole body.

and THAT'S his breaking point. there's been a lot of fractures over the years but that's the thing that breaks him and maybe, just maybeee, he has this sick hope that if he joins the DE, he'll understand regulus more. he has this sick hope that maybe he'll get a taste of what regulus was going through and he'll get why it happened.

peter who joins the DE to understand regulus and eventually finds a stack of papers in grimmauld place, but it's already too late for him. he's got to be at the potter's tonight.

having prongsfoot thoughts but specifically how james skews his moral compass wrong for sirius and sirius tries to fix his for james. thinking about how sirius is the 'cruel' one and james is the 'kind' one but sirius tells the marauders about his mother and remus and peter see pure hatred in james' eyes when sirius is bids farewell to them on the train, months later. thinking about how lily makes a remark about sirius' family and james snaps at her, which he's never done before. thinking about sirius sitting idly and chainsmoking as he tells sirius that regulus is dead and james comforts him while he thinks good riddance. thinking about sirius trying to make conversation with peter because james likes him, so sirius has to too. thinking about sirius slipping chocolate and a sorry note to remus because james said sirius made an insensitive joke. thinking about sirius trying to be nicer and accepting and holding his tongue near certain people because james doesn't like it when he's mean to them. thinking about sirius never not being proud because james never tells him not to be, but only because james had grown to adore it. thinking them both knowing each other's flaws and feeling their depressions and thinking the other is the pinnacle of perfection despite it, that unless he says it's wrong, i'm right.

i think it’s unfortunate how little this fandom pays attention to and utilizes the girls (WHICH IM ALSO GUILTY OF) but i’m hyperfixated hardcore on the girls (esp mary) but every time i try to find content of them it’s always focused on wolfstar or jegulus and the girls are in the background.

THE GIRLS ARE SUCH GOOD CHARACTERS (esp when ppl rewrite them to have their own personality and not js mirror one of the guys) SO WHY DONT THEY GET MORE LOVE ???
