Hey Y'all!

Hey y'all!

I've been planning on jumping ship from Adobe Photoshop (needed it for school unfortunately) to Clip Studio Paint for a while now. Now that I'm done with school, I figured now was as good a time as any.

I was hoping some fellow artists could give me some tips on using CSP? Especially people who used to use Adobe themself.

I'm particularly looking for some help with brushes. I'm hoping to find something similar to what I used with adobe (the basic hard round pressure size brush and hard round pressure opacity brush). And then of course anything to do with navigating CSP would be helpful.

I know a big part of me learning CSP will have to be me figuring out what I like myself, but any help (personal tips or useful online tutorials) would be much appreciated <3

A full body drawing of op's oc Ebony. He's dressed in formal-leaning attire, with a nice light grey shirt, dark grey buttoned vest, and grey dress pants. He has various red crystal accessories and black gloves, a book holster, and long dark hair pulled into a loose ponytail.

Off to the side is a reference for a magic staff. It is a dark wood color, with red crystals hanging from it, and grey cloth wrapped around where it'd be held.

Part 2 of Old-ish oc references that I touched up rather than redrawing!

This is Ebony Crow (he/him). He is quite the serious academic, a shadow witch, the reserved and quiet type, and much like his mother is a magical prodigy. Unlike his mother however, he has no interest in playing the role of socialite and networking with upper class witches. He'd much rather be away studying and researching than be at any social event.

Other important things to know: He is currently being manipulated by a dark force, one connected to his mother and the history of Death Omens. And he is very close with his sister, Thorne.

Quick run down of his runes (sigils):

Lock- Prevents anyone but the caster from opening or moving whatever the rune has been applied to.

Protection- Reinforces clothing against both (certain) magics and physical attacks.

Disruption- Disrupts (low level) magical eavesdropping, locating, and otherwise spying attempts.

Shock(?)- Still a bit unsure about this one, but if I keep it at "shock" then when activated it would emit a shock of electricity created by channeling the user's magic into storm magic.

Three drawings of op's oc Fen dressed as a pumpkin witch. One is a 3/4s body, another is a half body, and the last is a shoulders-up drawing. Fen has dark skin and dark curly hair pulled up into a fluffy ponytail. Her dress consists of a cream white blouse, a brownish red corset, a brown-red and orange layered skirt with pumpkin details, and an orange witches hat with crystals strung around the rim.

In one pose she is holding a carved pumpkin at her hip, in another she is holding her witches hat onto her head, and in the last she is smiling at the viewer.

Another Illustration for class! We were meant to select a scene from classical literature and illustrate it. I chose "The Secret Garden", specifically when Mary finds the garden!
