last night my dad told me that i shouldn’t be worrying about current events because there’s nothing i can do about anything.
this morning my mom told me that yes she knows that all of this terrible stuff going on affects me directly but i can’t let it get me down.
and then they literally ask me why i want to kill myself why i want to move out so bad why i am always so distant to them.
coming out of my cage and i been doing just bad. going back in my cage because i like my cage
Hold up! It's Aquarius season. It's his birthday season but I've got some more Dadtaro & Smolyne thoughts I need to share.
Because while I did say in a previous post that Jolyne would definitely be a "Papa's Girl" if Jotaro was a present father, you don't understand the exact vision of it: This tall, stoic man doing his work but the second his little girl calls out for him, that stoicism melts away and is replaced with pure fondness when he pays her attention.
I watched clips from this show called "The Glory" and holy shit when I tell you... the way this guy loves his stepdaughter is exactly how I envisioned Jotaro treating Jolyne if he was around her the whole time.
LIKE HEAR ME OUT AND WATCH:
(Side tangent, but you can't tell me this man doesn't give off 4taro vibes. The professional aura, the slicked clean cut hair, the long coats. Like, come on now. The actor is 44, so my brainrot is screaming this is how 6taro would look if he maintained the Part 4 vibes.)
Imagine these scenes happening similarly somewhere after Eyes of Heaven, where Jotaro resets the timeline to where he's able to spend more time with Jolyne wanting to be a better father for her: He brings her to work, he attends her school events, he picks her up from school etc.
"It's okay if you can't go... I like you when you're busy too..." "..." "No. Of course, I'm going to go, even if I'm busy."
The part where the little girl cries as she runs to him, just imagine it's Jotaro actually coming home from a year of him dealing with Stand users, busy overseas away from home, and Jolyne is starting to wonder if him being away is her fault.
But when he returns to his daughter, he lifts her in his arms, and says what the man says in the clip after she feels guilty:
"You have nothing to be sorry for... Nothing that's happening right now is because of you... This isn't your fault. Do you understand?" "Papa..."
Also to THOSE people in the community who say "But Jotaro is too emotionless to be that empathet-" NO. He has difficulty processing and expressing emotions, but he still has them. He cares for his family even if he's shit at it. He's not a fucking psychopath.
