i just saw the tag “canon complicit” instead of “canon compliant” and im laughing its like “canon is a criminal act that i unfortunately support with this fic”

I just think it’s really interesting that once I became more visibly Jewish- wearing a tichel or kippah on a daily basis, wearing my hamsa, learning Yiddish- I was immediately faced with (misdirected) transmisogyny- being called transmisogynistic specific slurs, being followed and harrassed off buses, being followed and watched in women’s bathrooms, etc.

It goes to show that transmisogynists and terfs base their ideas on what womanhood is on a white, European, racist, antisemetic, patriarchal caricature of womanhood, and not actual womanhood, which is intrisic to each women, normal or cis.

I‘m so angry and disgusted right now. I read about my home country, East Turkistan. (China calls it Xinjiang.) for a while, I stopped reading reports because I was suffering. But now I can’t ignore this any longer. I am heart broken and can’t comprehend what I’ve read. words cannot describe how I am feeling, how hurt I am and how angry I am. Two of my favourite things about animal behaviour studies:

1. It’s a recognised phenomenon that if you’re working with some of the more intelligent critters, sometimes they’ll figure out what you’re testing for and start deliberately providing the “wrong” response to every single test.

2. The researcher who’s writing up the paper is not allowed to say “clearly the little bastards are just fucking with us”, because that would be inappropriately anthropomorphising the subjects, but you can 100% tell that they’re thinking it.
