requested: “Hey… I’ve got this idea for Chris Evans x reader where y/n tries to tell Chris she’s pregnant with some clues on Christmas and he just doesn’t get it but his whole family does?”

warnings: very few swears, pregnancy nausea, chris being completely clueless lol, but its really all fluff!

a/n: i looove writing for dad!chris and/or x pregnant!reader so thanks for this request! i imagine this is how it would go when you’re pregnant with your first baby :) also, i am currently working on requests and finishing up on the last parts of Futile which will be out on the 19th and the 24th!

“Boys, would you calm down?” you hear your mother in law laugh at her grown sons.

Chris has Scott in a headlock, Scott is shouting and writhing around, and Chris is just about laughing his ass off. It started off as a simple disagreement about a certain breed of dog. Stupid, really. But then Chris fact-checked via some online Dogpedia and he ended up being right. Then, being the sore winner he is, resulted in the current situation of terrorizing his younger brother. You would’ve intervened, but it was just too funny. Whenever you get together with his family, Chris and Scott seem to regress back to their childhood schemes, and this Christmas morning is no different.

Eventually, Chris lets up, Scott catches his breath, and both brothers laugh it off. Chris comes back to sit down next to you on the couch with his cup of coffee, allowing you to snuggle back into his embrace.

“I don’t know why you want kids when you still are one, Honey,” you taunt, reaching a hand up to fix his mussed up hair with a giggle.

“It’s just Scott,” he whines, and you nod, knowing how incredibly responsible Chris is with his nieces and nephews.

“I’m only teasing,” you mumble into his cheek as your lips leave a kiss over his beard. And really, you are just teasing, because today’s going to be the day you share the big news with Chris and his family: you’re almost six weeks pregnant!

You’ve only told his sisters yet because they’re in on the surprise, too. The three of you coordinated to get Chris and their husbands all the same shirt, hoping that when Chris opens his, he’ll realize what you’re trying to say. You also have a little sign for Dodger to come in wearing if he still doesn’t get it. And as a final, most obvious resort, you also have an ornament that’s pretty straightforward. Not to mention the little hints you’ve been dropping all morning.

You sigh and lean back into his arms, but thanks to morning sickness and hormones, the scent of his coffee starts to make you nauseous. You groan quietly as you feel your face flush hot with the slightest wave of nausea. You close your eyes and rest your head and let it nuzzle a little bit into his shoulder to try to settle your mind and stomach.

“You feeling okay, Sweetheart?” he asks once he notices your tell-tale signs of discomfort.

“Yeah, it’s just your coffee,” you mutter quietly as to not draw attention to yourself.

“My coffee?” he asks, sliding out from behind you a little to look at you.

Woodland Demars One Shot | Jealous

You have been working for Hi5 Studios as a production assistant in Battle Universe for 3 month when you realize that you never really spoke about yourself much when conversing with the rest of your colleagues. You were close to Cat, Sam, Woods, Pat, and Tanner but you just never were really able to hang out much with them outside office hours. You were always pretty much busy pursuing your passion of dancing.

This coming weekend you finally got noticed by your dance team’s coach and choreographer and decided to choose you as one of the dancers to be filmed and posted on Youtube. Friday came and you were visibly excited and during the Battle Universe shoot, everyone asked you about why you were walking with a leap in your step.

“Y/N, are you okay? You’ve been kind of been bouncing around the whole day?” Sam asked as you gave her her mic pack.

Everyone present in the battle space for the shoot looked over to hear you respond. You felt yourself blush as you answered, “Well, something exciting is happening tomorrow and I guess, I just...heh am too excited?”

“Oooooh, is Y/N going on a date with someone?” Hannah teased.

You laughed and waved her off. “Oh my gosh, I wish? But nah, just a project I’ve been dreaming of finally coming true.”

“That’s great! Buuuut now we’ve got to start filming,” Cj said as he got his mic pack from you.

The rest of your work day flew by quickly with you trying to keep your excitement down. Though you knew it wasn’t really working because Woods kept teasing you relentlessly.

“You’re definitely like an energized bunny today, Y/N.” Woods said multiple times today. You would always blush but roll your eyes at him and walk away with a ton of butterflies fluttering in your stomach.

Woods was always someone who made you feel a little tingly and weak because he just seemed like to most ideal man.

He immediately had caught your eye the moment you started working at Hi5 but you knew that it was impossible for him to ever look at you as someone who he could possibly date because he just seemed too perfect.

“Good bye, Y/N,” Woods greeted as you were clocking out. You waved at him and drove home with a huge grin on your face.

Saturday came and you finally got to dance for the dance team’s Youtube channel. The shoot went smoothly because your partner for the dance was someone who you had always viewed as an older brother. After all, you and him had been in the dance team for while, with that, the video displayed the good chemistry you had.

After the shoot, the team said that the video was to be posted come Monday at around 1pm. At first, you were just really excited until Monday came and you realized that the video will be launched while you were at the office.

‘Oh god, they might find my dancing terrible or something,’ you thought to yourself as you imagined scenarios of you watching the video and someone walking in on you watching it.

Come Monday, you were a little jumpy with anxiousness and excitement. Since you shared an office with Cj, Pat, Hannah, and Woods, they all noticed and were a bit worried for you.

“Hey, Y/N. Are you okay? You look a little...off,” Cj, your boss asked.

You jumped a little bit and waved him off.

“I’m fine, just... well, I...”

You started stammering when you realized that all your officemates were listening in on the conversation.

You heaved out a big sigh.

“I guess I’m just really nervous to see the output of the project I had over the weekend. It’s gonna be released at 1pm and yeah.”

“Oooh! Right! You never told us what project it is though,” Pat said.

“Well, I guess it’s ‘cause I never told you guys about my dancing?” You said with a wince.

“That’s cool though! I also dance, but well, I’m sure you know that,” Hannah cheered.

“Could we watch the output later?” Woods asked.

“I guess...but please don’t judge me because it was my first time ever to be picked to be a part of a dance video.”

1pm came and they all huddled around your computer to watch the launch of the video.

“Oh my god. You guys were so adorable,” Hannah cooed as you guys finished watching the video.

“Is he your boyfriend?” Woods suddenly asks.

You laughed and shook your head.

“He’s like an older brother to me.”

As you answered, you notice Pat nudging Woods while raising his eyebrows at him.

You looked at them curiously but Cj spoke.

“Your chemistry with him was super great though.”

You just laughed and said, “Well, thank you...but we should all probably get back to work.”

Everyone agreed and went back to their own tables but Woods just stood closer to you.

He clears his throat which makes you look at him.

“Uh...nevermind.”

He quickly goes back to his table and shoves his headphones over his ears while he avoids your gaze.

You look at him with a confused look on your face and continue working on some thumbnails.

Just as you were about to clock out when the day ended, Woods goes up to you and asks if he can speak with you privately for a minute.

You agreed as you felt butterflies in your stomach, nervous because you didn’t know why he had to speak with you privately.

You always felt a little awkward around him when it was only you two because he always just made you flustered.

Woods clears his throat to get your attention once you reached the back door of the office.

“Uh, well...after watching your dance video earlier, I had to say something,” Woods says as his eyes avoid your gaze.

Your brows furrowed as his statement left you confused. Say something about how I danced?

“I really loved the video...but I couldn’t help but...and I know I’m not in the position to say this but I really envied your partner,” he says as he finally meets your haze.

“Oh...you mean...” you trailed off.

“I mean that I wish that it was me you were dancing with and smiling at that way.”

Your heart started to beat faster as you started to catch on.

“So...now, I’d like to ask you out on a date because I don’t think I can stand seeing you to be with someone else.”

Heat rose up to your cheeks as you fought a fond smile off your face.

“I’d love to go out on a date with you,” you said as best as you could without sounding too eager.

A huge grin lit up his face as you reached up and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

This has got to be the best part of being a part of that dance video, you thought to yourself as you went towards your car with a huge, excited smile on your face.
