You were known around campus as the nature freak, a term you found a great deal of amusement in. Nature freak… they had no idea.

Everywhere you went, you carried a small potted Venus flytrap. Often it would sit on your desk as you had your classes, or beside you as you sat outside enjoying a break from the indoors. Most ignored it with ease or even complimented the cute plant, use to odd things around campus. But there was always a few who would snicker over it, or make snide comments. Not that you minded all too much.

One day as you were headed out of the building, intent on getting home and getting some well needed rest, screams and shouts of panic began to sound out, not too far away. At a brief glance, it quickly became obvious that you were all under attack for something. You didn’t bother to listen all to long about what they were here for, though it soon became clear that they were willing to kill for it.

When the nearest group turned their attentions in your direction, you stood fast, even as the students and teachers behind you fled. One of the assailants taunted you as they neared, asking you if you were that scared that you couldn’t even flee. You said nothing in response, simply smiling wide as you held out your pot for them to see. The men paused in confusion, glancing at the pot and then you, eyes incredulous as you spoke.

“They’re hungry…. why don’t you say hi?” 

Instantly, the plant burst free of its pot, growing rapidly as it took on a life of its own. Terrified, they shot at it, though it did nothing to the plant as each head easily and gleefully snapped up the attackers. Out of the corner of your eyes, you saw others approaching, and simply gave them a cheery wave as the many heads of your Venus flytrap quickly snapped them up.

Gods you had forgotten how fucking fun this was.

i just heard someone out in the hallway go “omae wa mo shinderu” and then someone screamed “NO!!!” and there was a loud smack

The cats been obsessively staring and growling at the one corner of the house for hours now, the fur on its back standing on end. Finally it stops staring at the corner… but now its staring behind you.

I think it’s incredible how seals experience the world.

Many of the deep-diving seals can go blind during their lifetime and live just fine.
