Wren Stronghold - A Wolfwren Fanfiction

Wren Stronghold - a Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! I come bearing another addition to my Ahsoka season 2 and beyond series on this final day of the year! This one is rated E and it is about Shin and Sabine cleaning up Wren Stronghold. Here is the beginning and if you want to read the whole story, the link will be at the end!

The ETA-class shuttle landed on the frosted landing pad, its heat roasting the ice which had settled years ago. The spaceship touched the ground roughly, as a patch of ice beneath its legs gave way, splintering with a crack under its weight. Sabine grimaced. She remembered clearing the ice of this very landing pad as punishment for some trouble she had caused. Now, it, like all of Wren stronghold, had been left for nature to do what it did best: take over.

“Should we unload?” Shin asked from the co-pilot seat.

Sabine considered their options. They had brought many supplies to fix up the stronghold, and a lot of food, as they had no idea how long the repair job would take. But most of all, Sabine feared the boiler might be dead and unfixable, in which case they wouldn’t last the night.

“Let’s check inside first.”

They walked through the cluttered body of the long ship, where all their supplies were packed, and Sabine opened the hatch. As the ramp unfurled, the cold wind of Krownest infiltrated the ship. Sabine had not felt it in years. A familiar shiver ran over her body. Shin had seldom felt cold like this. She bundled deeper into her fur-lined coat.

The ground was slippery on the landing pad, which was to be expected. Not a single ship had been left behind. The whole clan had gone to Mandalore to fight the Empire. All of Clan Wren’s ships had been destroyed with their owners, in that same night of carnage.

Sabine walked briskly to the door, feeling the emptiness keenly. Shin looked around. Sabine had told her about the stronghold being near a lake, but she had failed to mention the snowy mountain range surrounding them and the endless forest of pine that lounged on their slopes. If she wasn’t freezing, she might have taken in the view longer.

Sabine broke the ice over the door panel with the butt of her lightsaber. Once it flipped open, she saw the inside wasn’t damaged. She could thank her mother for her impeccable maintaining of the stronghold. She pushed the emergency lever down, and with a groan hungry for oil, it lowered and opened the door.

The inside of the stronghold was dark. Sabine pulled a flashlight from her pocket and turned it on. At a first glance, she couldn’t spot any ice within. She hummed.

“There might be hope yet.”

The Goddamn Fight of My Life - a Cindy/Alice fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! It has been a long time since I've written anything Fear Street! I found this story almost finished in my vault a few weeks ago and I thought it deserved to be completed and shared! Here is the beginning of the first chapter and if you want to read the whole chapter, the link will be at the end! Enjoy!

The trees bent so hard over the path they threatened to topple at the first strong gust of wind, Cindy thought as she drove past them. She even held her breath. It would be terrible if she ended up trapped in the woods, worse if the car was wrecked by a falling tree. She was supposed to be gone only for the weekend.

The cabin she had rented for them was a small, isolated lakeside cabin. There were, in fact, a dozen or so cabins of various sizes around the lake, with just enough trees between them that they were considered isolated. There was a town twenty minutes away, and a much bigger resort on the other side of the lake. She had thought about renting two rooms at the resort, so they could have gone to the spa all weekend long, but she wanted peace and quiet. No one but Alice.

She was glad her friend had agreed to come with her. They hadn’t had the opportunity to spend some time together since life had gotten in the way. This would be good, she thought. A chance to relax and to think.

Cindy made it through the tree-shadowed path and reached the cabin. It was a bit bigger than she’d imagined, made of dark wood with a moss-covered shingled roof. A motorbike was parked up front, and Alice was standing beside it, smoking. Cindy parked beside her. Tobacco smoke overtook the fresh, humid smell of the lake. The combination reminded Cindy of that fateful summer.

“You know, the point of coming here is to enjoy the fresh air,” Cindy said as she stepped out of the car.

“You should know by now I don’t like the smell of fresh air.”

Alice crushed her cigarette beneath her heel and picked her bag off the back of her bike. Cindy wondered how she’d managed to drive up the gravel path.

“Plus, I was just waiting for your slow ass to catch up.”

Cindy picked her suitcase out of the trunk of her brand-new Chevrolet Citation. Technically it was their car – Tommy and hers – but he had no use for it this weekend, as he was at a conference in Denver. Plus, she was a much better driver than him, and they both knew it.

“You could have just gone with me, you know? Plenty of space in my car.”

Alice, who had already walked up the creaky stairs to the front door, gave one disgusted look at the hatchback.

“I think I’d rather spend another summer at Camp Nightwing than set foot in your family car.”

Gold Medal Girlfriends - a Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! Here is my second anniversary gift to all of you! This story is based on two fanarts made by @somewillwin ten days ago and as soon as I saw them I knew I just had to write something! Here is an extract and if you enjoy it you can find the link to the whole story at the end!

The ride back to Paris was rambunctious. The Australian team was riding with the Americans, and while they had not won, they were quite ready to celebrate for Sabine’s gold. The medal was heavy and comforting around her neck, but despite the music blaring at the back of the minivan, Sabine wasn’t dancing. She was maxing out the Internet her mobile plan allowed her to watch the fencing competition on her phone. It was the semi-finals already, and Ukraine was facing against Japan.

“Sabine, it’s not fun if you’re not celebrating,” Ketsu, the US shooter, shouted at her as she tried to take Sabine’s phone from her hands.

One glance at the screen told her all she needed to know. Ketsu rolled her eyes.

“How is your girlfriend doing?”

“She’s last to go.”

“Okay, well, enjoy your fencing, I’ll party on your behalf.”

“There will be plenty of time to party when Shin also has her gold medal. Heck, she might even win two.”

The next day would be the individual saber women’s competition, which Sabine had no doubt Shin would also win. Behind her, Ketsu turned up the volume of the music she was playing at the back, to the point that Sabine could not even hear the commentators anymore. Suddenly, Shin’s name appeared on the little banner at the bottom of the screen, although Sabine would not have been able to tell, with her helmet already on her head.

“Shut up, shut up, shut up,” she shouted in the car. “Turn the music down, it’s Shin’s turn.”

Ketsu obeyed. All the passengers turned to Sabine and the commentator’s voice coming through the tiny speakers of her phone.

“A good defense from Ukraine’s side. Hati seems to be waiting for her opponent to strike and overextend herself. And…”

The clear sound of metal on metal echoed out of the phone.

“Hati strikes. That’s one more point of Ukraine, 37 to 28.”

no you have to contribute to your fandom if you don't want it to die. most fandoms die because people say 'it's so sad watching the fandom die when the hype dies' without doing anything about it. I'm not saying you have to push out 100k word slow-burn fic, I'm not saying you have to make fan art or gif sets or edits or anything. I'm just saying we as a community should contribute to our fandom if we don't want it to die, and by contributing, I'm talking about giving kudos, commenting on your favorite fics, reblogging your favorite art and just talking about your favorite characters. that's enough to keep a fandom alive. that's the most effective way to keep a fandom alive in my humble opinion.

fandoms die because people stop talking about it, fandoms die because people stop engaging with fan content once the hype is gone. what I'm saying is, mainstream media's hype may be gone, but our fandom can stay alive and thriving if us as a community don't let it die.

No Longer You - a Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! I'm back with a new Wolfwren multichapter story! This one is inspired by Agathario. Shin is a witch on the run from her coven, Sabine just came out of a magic sword Shin stole. Here is the beginning, and if you want to read the whole story, the link will be at the end!

Without a sound, Shin reached for her coven’s ancestral sword on the wall. She tugged it in her sash and left the meeting house. Outside, the morning was still gray. The sunlight was blocked by the horizon. Shin’s coven lived at the top of a mountain, and the village was usually flooded with sunlight all day long. By the time the first rays scurried through the locked shutters of her coven sisters, Shin hoped she would be very far from here.

Though she had been born in this coven, the Coven of the Great Mothers, and raised with all the other witches her age, Shin had never felt like she belonged. She didn’t know who her mother was – no one knew who their mothers were – but somehow, everyone knew that her father wasn’t one of the coven’s brothers. That he had been a human outside of the coven. That somehow, this made her weaker than the others. Shin was not weak.

Shin wrapped her cape around herself to brace herself against the cold morning air as she left the village and began her descend down the hundreds of steps to the forest below. She didn’t look back. She would not regret leaving, she knew. The narrow steps had been dug out of the mountain’s side. There was no railing. The wind sheered the stone around her. Shin held her cape more firmly, though the bottom still snapped against her ankles.

The stairs led to a cave that Shin knew she would have to traverse if she wanted off the mountain. Within was the village of the brothers. They weren’t part of the coven, technically, though they were kept around for a variety of reasons. Mostly, they spent their days hunting and gathering food. They lived in the dark bowels of the mountain. Shin could only see the fire of the torches that illuminated the little village. At first, she thought they let the torches burn through the night, then she saw movement.

She jumped to hide against the nearest house. When she peaked out, she saw one of the brothers replacing the torches, bathing the village in the new golden glow of fire. They would be off hunting soon, she assumed. She had to go now, or they might spot her. She chastised herself. She should have thought about it. She waited until the brother walked away to run past him. She tried being quiet and quick, but it was difficult. Her footsteps still echoed on the stone streets, and around the cavernous village. She did not stop, did not look back to make sure that she wasn’t being followed. Instead, she rushed to the exit.

Outside, the sun had broken past the horizon. Its orange glow blinded her. Shin had to rub her eyes a few times before she could continue her descent. At the foot of the mountain was a luscious forest that seemed to expand with no end in sight. Shin had not packed any food with her. Aside from the sword she had stolen, her only possessions were a waterskin and a knife. She would have to hunt to survive, but she was ready. Anywhere but her coven.

We'd Hurt Each Other With The Things We Want To Say - an Agathario fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! Back for day 5 of @agathaallalongweek and part 3 of my witch school AU! Here is the beginning and if you want to read the whole story, the link will be at the end!

Agatha leaned back in her desk chair as the students left her classroom, relieved that the day was over. She thought being a teacher would be easy, but barely a month in and she was running out of things to teach them already. All her spare time was spent on her secret project, so that a few days ago, she’d arrived in class with no idea what to teach the first years. She couldn’t let that happen again if she didn’t want to get fired before she was done transcribing the circle.

She closed her eyes a moment and rubbed her temples. For a blissful moment, she thought all the students had left. Then, a voice resounded from the edge of her desk:

“If you have a headache, I know a good potion to get rid of it. Miss Kale taught it to us in second year.”

Agatha groaned and opened her eyes. Not for the first time, Billy was standing at the edge of her desk. He liked to asked questions, sometimes questions that didn’t even have anything to do with the lecture. His over-eagerness annoyed her.

“What incredibly out of left-field question are you going to ask me today, Billy? Let’s see… You’ve already asked me about banshees, sirens, about enchanted guitars, about cursed records, and about the role of bells in ritual casting in the 17th century.”

“And I appreciate your expertise,” he replied, then glanced around him, as if to check that the room was empty. He leaned a little closer. “But that’s not why I came to talk to you today. I’ve seen you at the old hideout at night and I don’t know what you’re doing there but I’d love to help.”

She sighed and stood up, yanking her coat from the back of the chair.

“Do you think Miss Calderu would like to know that you’ve been spying on another teacher in the woods at night?”

“I’m not spying-” he began, but she shut him down with a look because they both knew he was lying. “You could take me on as your assistant. Teachers do it all the time with seniors.”

“Oh, so you’re planning on taking song magic for your final project?”

“Nobody takes song magic anymore. Ma’am,” he added swiftly when he realized that he had insulted her. “But I can still be useful, if you would just give me a chance.”

Art is Subjective - a Wolfwren fic

A/N: Hello everyone! I just uploaded a new one-shot on AO3, it is an art gallery AU and also it is E rated ;) Here is the beginning and if you want to read the whole thing, the link will be at the end!

As Shin grabbed another glass of champagne, she wondered why they never served anything stronger than champagne at all those business meetings. On the one hand, she could understand wanting to be clear-minded while talking business. On the other, these functions were always so boring. If she had known that she would have to attend these regularly when she agreed to work for Baylan, she would have gone back to working the graveyard shift at Dex’s Diner. It paid almost just as much and she didn’t have to deal with pedantic assholes, only the regular variety.

She wondered between the art pieces without sparing them more than a glance. She only needed to look busy, so Baylan wouldn’t reprimand her for standing around in a corner. If she looked as if she were participating, she could have a relatively unbothered evening. She kept one hand in the pocket of her gray suit, the other holding the glass and twirling the content within. That was the only anxious fidgeting she was allowed. She couldn’t check her phone every minute because it would only depress her, and the only clock on the wall was a piece of art, one of those melted clocks that no one found original anymore.

When a group of trader-looking men stood at the end of her path, blocking her access to the rest of the room, she had no other choice but to stop and contemplate the painting hanging from the wall. It was a Mandalorian helmet, or at least someone wearing a Madanlorian helmet, but every refraction of the light on the helmet was wrong, distorted, it showed too much or too little.

“Pretty interesting, don’t you think?”

“No, not really,” Shin replied as she turned to the woman who had joined her.

She was awestruck for a second, but a second was all she allowed herself. The woman had short purple hair, brushed back and away from her clever brown eyes. A mole stood out at the edge of her cheekbone. Her hands were tugged in the pockets of a dark orange suit jacket. Beneath, she wore a form-fitting top. Upon hearing Shin’s reply, she frowned.

“You don’t find it interesting?”

“No, I don’t. I find it pretentious.”
