Life Day On Peridea - A Wolfwren Fanfiction

Life Day on Peridea - a Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! I just posted a short Christmas fic. It's pre-relationship but I hope it will still keep you entertained until I post my bigger Wolfwren Christmas fic on Christmas day! Here is the beginning and the link to the full story will be at the end!

Days didn’t quite track from one galaxy to the next. Although Huyang’s internal clock would tell them of some special day which had come to pass, no one had the mind to celebrate. Life Day had come and gone with barely a mention, and no song was sung and no gifts were exchanged.

The Noti had their own version of Life Day. Sabine watched them decorate their homes with leaf garlands and pieces of moss. They picked out flat rocks and shells and, come the day of, gifted them to their family and friends. A handful of them gave Sabine gifts and, as she was feeling bad that she had nothing to give in return, she gifted the rocks and the small white seashells back.

That evening, the Noti played music and gathered around a central fire pit, where they cooked and the elder told stories to entertain the young. Sabine, Ahsoka, and Huyang watched from the edge, near their own little campfire. The T-6 had been left higher on the plain behind them, looming over the Noti camp. They watched the Noti tradition with interest, until Sabine spoke:

“I can’t believe Life Day exists even in another galaxy.”

“I’m certain they wouldn’t call it that,” Huyang replied.

“You know what I mean. The singing, the exchange of gifts, all we’re missing is a tree and the candles. And the snow.”

The droid interjected:

“The original Wookie tradition does not require snow in the slightest. Kashyyyk is a temperate planet covered at 87% of jungles. They only experience snow on the poles where the Wookiees do not live.”

Sabine rolled her eyes.

“I grew up on Krownest, remember? What does your encyclopedia tell you about Krownest?”

Christmas at Hyde Park - a RubyxChristina fanfiction

A/N: Hey guys! Here’s an extract from my Christmas fic! It’s just a whole lot of family fluff, so I hope you’ll enjoy it! If you want to read the whole thing, the link is at the end! Happy end of years celebrations!

The toy store was packed with people, and Ruby almost lost Leti twice into the crowd. Leti was fighting with a pile of boxes. George wanted a train set for Christmas, but of course, they had to come into multiple boxes. Every time Ruby suggested she took a few boxes, Leti practically fought her off.

"I can carry a few boxes."

Still, the train station threatened to fall off the wagon, and Rub caught it just in time.

"What else do we need?" she asked, wanting nothing more than to leave and move on with their Christmas shopping.

"He wants a game of jacks to play with his friends and Tic thought he might like a jigsaw puzzle."

"And you sure you can afford all that with Mr. Fix-It's pay?"

Leti glared at her older sister.

"He got a Christmas bonus. Not everyone can live at the expense of a rich white girl."

Ruby rolled her eyes. She had a job and it paid well, she wasn't some kept woman who spent her days in the kitchen.

"I was gonna suggest I buy one for him."

"I don't need the help."

Still, Leti ground her teeth in front of the cash register and paid for her son's Christmas gifts. They left with heavy bags into the cold Chicago air. It was the last day of November, and already people were rushing from shop to shop in search of the perfect gift.

"I don't get why you don't want my money anymore," Ruby said as they walked down the street. "It was good enough for you before."

"Maybe because you kept complaining that I was leeching off of you."

"I complained when I didn't know what it was for. Now I know it's for my nephew, mostly. If you need some, I can lend it to you, it's not a problem."

"I don't need your money. I've got the money from the house, and Tic's got his job. Plus, I don't want to owe anything to Christina."

Ruby shook her head. She hadn't volunteered any of the blonde's money, although she knew Christina wouldn't care if she asked her.

"Are you gonna get Tic anything?" Ruby asked, deciding it was better to change the subject.

"Besides my love and time, you mean? He needs a new belt. And you? Got any idea?"

Ruby sighed. She always struggled to find the right gift for Christina. What could she gift to someone who could get absolutely anything she wanted at any moment? She'd given her records and sweaters the previous years. Christina listened to the records and she wore the sweaters, but it didn't feel special enough, Ruby thought. Not that the blonde minded. It wasn't that Christina hated Christmas, it was that she didn't care about it. Before Ruby, she hadn't celebrated since her mother's passing.

"My love and time?" Ruby replied.

Leti chuckled and the two sisters continued down the street to a man's clothing store. While Leti looked for a belt for her husband, Ruby looked at the shirts on display. Would it be weird if she bought a male's shirt for Christina? One she could wear as William? The blonde had a drawer full of clothes she wore as William, but none Ruby had ever bought for her. With a sigh, Ruby thought she would just buy another woolen sweater for the blonde.

Leti paid the belt and they walked on.

"I'm glad you're taking care of dinner this year," Leti said. "Don't forget to make gingerbread for Georgie."

As if she could forget, Ruby thought.

"Don't worry, he'll have a whole army of gingerbread people to eat."

It’s Been a Long Long Time (CarolMaria fanfic)

A/N: Here’s an extract of my new CarolMaria story. It’s just fluff set in a WW2 AU. If you want to read more, the link for the full story will be at the end of the post.

They swayed with the music, slowly. Carol had turned out to be the most clumsy of the two, her sock-clad feet accidentally stepping on Maria's feet often enough for Maria to make fun of her. After a while, the blonde had gotten the hang of it, and now she only stepped on Maria on purpose, to push herself just a few inches up and place a kiss high on Maria's cheek.

The trumpet was replaced by the voice of a singer, and Maria closed her eyes and let the lyrics sink in. Carol watched her do with a smile. She placed a kiss on her neck and closed her eyes as well, sighing happily. Her breath tickled Maria's neck, who couldn't quite hold her smile. They basked in each other's warmth, even if it wasn't a particularly cold night. Maria's fingers moved slightly. She found the edge of Carol's skirt. Her shirt would usually be tugged inside, but after a day of frantically running around looking for a job, the shirt had moved and bundled and turned. Maria barely had to pull on it to find Carol's warm skin underneath, and the scar she had left from that time she'd been shot. Carol shivered when she felt Maria's finger gently caressing her scar. She didn't stop her. She'd come so close to death that time, it was good for Maria to remember that she was still there, in her arms, and she didn't plan on going anywhere else anytime soon.

Behind them, on the couch, Carol's orange tabby cat had fallen asleep a long time ago, stretched on the length of the couch itself as it belonged to her. So they were three then, Carol realized with a smile. Three in a tiny apartment in Greenwich Village that was not even big enough for one.

"We should move out..." Carol breathed out against Maria's neck.

Maria opened her eyes and smiled.

"Where to?" she asked jokingly. "We barely had the money to rent this place for the month."

Carol removed her head from Maria's collarbone to her lover's sadness and looked at Maria's face.

"Well, I have an idea, but you'll have to hear me out."

Maria placed a kiss on Carol's forehead as they continued to sway. The song had stopped and after a brief silence, another song started. It was a French song the soldiers had brought back with them to America. The melody was catchy, calling for an energized dance. Carol and Maria continued to gently sway, their rhythm unchanged by the music. Maria didn't understand the lyrics. Carol understood a little, after all, you didn't spend two months in a French war hospital without picking up a few things. It was a love song, that much she was sure of.

"How about we move to England?" Carol suggested.

Sabine's Universe - A Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! Here is the third part of my high school AU. You can read the beginning here and if you'd like the whole story, the link will be at the end!

Shin’s hands grew clammy around the handlebars of her bike as she followed her girlfriend through the cold streets of Capital City. Rows of houses decorated for Christmas zoomed past them, until they reached one which, in the late afternoon, flashed like a Christmas tree. Sabine threw her bike in the driveway without care. Shin was less careless. She set hers against the low wall of a planter. Sabine hopped over the path to the front door. She glanced behind her once she was at the door to make sure that Shin was following. Shin stood at the bottom of the three steps, trying not to appear nervous. This was her first time visiting Sabine’s home.

Sabine opened the door. Shin was overwhelmed for a second by the warmth of the place, and the smell of food baking in the kitchen. Pictures hung from frames on the walls and occupied most of the furniture space available. Sabine paid them no mind. She took off her coat then took Shin’s to hang it on the coatrack.

“Sabine, is that you?” a man’s voice called from deeper into the house while Sabine was taking off her shoes.

“Yep. Shin and I are just going to do our homework in my room. Then I want to show her the wall.”

“Alright. Have fun.”

Shin had barely toed off her shoes that Sabine grabbed her by the hand and led her upstairs. They disappeared through one of the doors, Sabine making sure to shut it after them. Shin dropped her backpack in a corner. Sabine, like a tornado, took off her sweater and turned on some rock music. Shin was about to ask her whether loud music was antithetic to doing their homework when Sabine returned to her and pinned her against the door.

“Is that why you brought me to your house?” Shin asked, hands grabbing Sabine’s waist.

“No, but you looked kinda cold. I figured you could use something to warm you up.”

That I Did Always Love - a Wolfwren one-shot

A/N: Hello everyone! Here is a little birthday surprise from me to you all (that's not how birthday works but I don't care). Here is the beginning and the link to the rest of the story is at the end :)

Shin paced the alley she was stationed in, muttering to herself:

“Dar'tome… Mhi solus Dar’tome…”

She paused both her mumbling and her pacing as she forced her brain to recall the next sentence.

“Mhi solus… no. Mhi… me’dinui…”

“Shin? What are you mumbling about?”

Sabine’s voice in her earpiece sent such panic in her bones that Shin froze completely.

“Nothing… Just counting the time…”

She hadn’t realized her comms had been on. She thought she would have a few minutes of calm to practice her Mando’a.

“It’s been a while since the target has gone inside,” she said quickly, hoping to divert the conversation away from her.

“I still have a visual on her,” Sabine confirmed. “I’ll let you know when she’s out.”

“Copy that.”

Quiet fell, and Shin hoped her girlfriend had turned off her comms again. However, after a long minute, Sabine said:

“Something’s troubling you.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Force bond, remember? I can feel it. So, what is it?”

Shin bit her lower lip.

“Nothing. The mission is my priority. It always is.”

“Okay,” Sabine replied, though she sounded unconvinced.

Too Sweet - a Jecki/Osha fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! After episode 5 aired this week I decided to write a little Modern AU about Jecki and Osha. It is extremely fluffy. Here is an extract and if you want to read the whole story you will find the link at the end!

Jecki pushed the scooter to the edge of the garage then called:

“Excuse me? I could use some help?”

She looked on either side of the car but could not spot any mechanic wearing a jumpsuit who could help her. Then, she heard wheels on the concrete floor and looked down. The mechanic was coming out of under the car. She was wearing a jumpsuit, but had wrapped the top around her waist. A dark green tank top freed her strong arms, with a little tattoo on the right one. They flexed as she rolled herself from under the car and Jecki could feel herself blushing.

“Hey, sorry,” the mechanic said. “Do you have an appointment?”

“Er… No… My scooter just broke down and Sol recommended I come here.”

The mechanic stood up and brushed her grease-stained hands on her pants. Jecki took the time to look at her once more. They were the same height. The mechanic had thin, ruddy colored dreadlocks. Her brown skin was stained with little dots of grease. Her dark eyes landed on Jecki and she smiled.

“You work for Sol?”

“How do you know?” Jecki replied, doing her best not to stutter as the mechanic continued to look at her.

“You’re wearing a ‘Master Sol’s Korean Noodle Bar’ shirt.”

Jecki looked down at herself. She had forgotten that she was dressed for work.

“Oh yeah…”

“I used to work there too, a few years ago.”

Jecki’s mouth fell open.

“You did?”

It certainly explained why Sol had recommended the mechanic’s shop to her.

“I’m Osha,” the mechanics said as she held out a hand.

“Jecki. Is that a nickname, Osha? Like did you get a lot of OSHA violations so they…”

She pursed her lips to stop herself from talking when she realized how stupid she sounded. Osha’s smile hadn’t fallen, but she shook her head.

“My name is Verosha, but my friends call me Osha.”

“Well, Jecki isn’t short for anything, it’s…”

She cleared her throat.

“Can you help me with my scooter?”

Wild Night - A RubyxChristina fanfiction

A/N: Hey guys! Here’s an extract from my new fanfiction in which Ruby and Christina meet on Valentine’s Day. If you want to read the whole thing, the link to the full story will be at the end! I hope you enjoy!

Ruby hated Valentine's Day. It wasn't always the case, but years of disappointing boyfriends and nights alone had run her enjoyment for lovers' day very thin. At this point, she wanted nothing more than to be left alone and spend the evening on her couch, eating ice cream and watching some dumb rom-com on TV. But of course, Leti had to meddle.

Come seven p. m., Ruby was standing in a large kitchen, getting ready for a singles-only cooking class. She cursed her sister again. All the participants were standing near the door, awkwardly waiting for the teacher. There were a few tall guys and a few nice girls, although Ruby didn't care much. So long as they weren't too talkative and let her be for the next two hours, it wouldn't be too bad. She could go home afterward and proceed with her night as planned.

The door opened and a woman wearing a navy blue apron with her name stitched in the corner walked in. Julia, it said. Julia smiled at the gathering crowd of students.

"Good evening everyone! My name is Julia and I'll be your teacher for tonight's class. I think we're only missing a few participants. I suggest we get started by finding you each a partner to work with."

She picked up what looked like a cocktail shaker on the table and shook it. When she opened it, the group saw small slips of papers inside.

"Who wants to start?"

One of the guys shrugged and stepped forward. He pulled out a name and read it out loud. The lucky winner, Kate, raised her hand as if she were embarrassed by her own name, and together the new pair walked up to the first work table. Another man stepped forward and he pulled out a guy's name. Together they took the table behind the first pair. Julia agitated the shaker as if it would mix up the papers even more and offered to let one of the girls pick. She pulled out a man's name, and they took the third table. Then, she turned to Ruby.

Ruby pursed her lips, holding in a complaint. She reached inside the shaker. She snatched the first paper she found. She unfolded it and read the name, first in her mind, as she let it sink in, then finally aloud.

"Christina?"

She looked up. No one had stepped forward or raised a hand.

"She must be late," Julia said. "You can take the fourth table, I'm sure she'll be here any minute."

Ruby did as she was instructed. Of course, she would pull the name of someone who wasn't there. She came to stand by the fourth table, at the back of the class. She found two aprons neatly folded on the table. She took off her coat and scarf and hung them on the hook on the wall behind her. It seemed someone else was alone at the front of the class. Ruby figured if their partners didn't arrive in time, Julia would pair them up.

The door opened just as the last pair was sent to their table, and a man walked inside. Ruby frowned. It couldn't be Christina, could it? But no, it was Sebastian, who worked with Debbie at the front of the class. Julia turned to Ruby and asked:

"Are you okay starting on your own? I'm sure your partner will be here shortly."

It wasn't like Ruby could say no. Instead, she shrugged and nodded.

"Yeah, it's no problem."

The Injury of Finally Knowing You - A Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! My brain has been filled with nothing but Wolfwren for weeks and because I couldn't wait I decided to write my own season 2 of Ahsoka! Here is an extract from the first chapter and the link to the full chapter will be at the end! Enjoy!

Sabine expected to feel more of a pounding in her head when she woke up. After all, someone had snuck up behind her and knocked her out. Maybe she’d grown used to being hit in the head. Huyang certainly seemed to take pleasure in doing so during her training sessions. Perhaps she ought to thank him for it now that she woke up with barely a dull pulse at the back of her head. She quickly assessed her surroundings.

Daylight passed through the walls of the tent; the leather too thin to block it out. She was tied to the central pole of the tent, so that if she pulled too hard on the bindings, she might collapse the whole structure. She was unarmed. Her lightsaber and blasters had been taken. However, she remained in armor, which was always an advantage. No one had been stationed in the tent to keep an eye on her. She might as well make the most of it, she thought as she pulled on her bindings. The wooden poll tremble with every harsh tug.

The Ravagers had rushed the Noti camp on the back of their howlers. In the middle of the night, Sabine had only had a moment to understand what was happening. She’d jumped out of the T-6 and rushed after her master. All the campfires had been extinguished, either by time or by their attackers. She spotted Ahsoka’s white light on the right side and figured she would cover their left flank. Somehow in the chaos of metal blades glimmering in the night and blaster shots, she had been knocked out and captured.

She doubted Ahsoka had also suffered the same fate. Hopefully her master would track her down. She wasn’t confident in her ability to navigate the wilderness yet. She tugged on the leather straps and the whole tent rattled. A few more hard pulls and she would be free, she figured.

The flap of the tent was thrown open, allowing harsh midday light within and blinding Sabine for a second. Someone entered and she stilled her tugging. The footsteps were angry. They crushed the earth as if trying to show just how superior to it they were. When Sabine had blinked the light out of her eyes, she looked up only to find herself confronted by a familiar wrathful face.

Shin’s platinum blond hair had grown an inch since they’d been stranded on the planet, revealing more of those dark roots at the top of her head. Sabine almost offered her pair of scissors but thought better of the jab when she saw her eyes. They were full of fury and sorrow in equal part, darkness and misery and tiredness and agony. Sabine was stricken by such grief when she saw her that she couldn’t speak.

“You failed,” Shin said. “Thrawn escaped.”

The accusation was just what Sabine needed to get her thoughts back in order.

“I also sent Ezra home. I accomplished what I set out to do. What did you accomplish?”

Shin glared at her. It was intense, but Sabine could take it.

“Why are you still here?”

Sabine frowned.

“I don’t know. Maybe because we’re just as stuck as you are?”

Shin shook her head.

“I don’t believe that. You must be here for another reason.”

“And the reason is that we are stuck.”

Hollowness, or The Beginning and the End of the Ship of Dreams - a RubyxChristina fanfiction

A/N: Hey guys! I was so busy this morning I almost forgot to post an extract from my new story! It’s a Ruby/Christina Titanic AU. The link to the full story will be at the end!

They called it the ship of dreams, and Christina certainly hoped it would be. She had packed carefully for this trip. She'd taken all of her favorite dresses, her favorite books, all of her most expensive jewels. This was a one-way trip, she knew. The family company needed her father back in Boston, and Christina had a feeling this hurried return home was prompted by something else, something she wouldn't like.

They drove silently to the harbor, another car containing their many trunks following closely behind. Christina kept her eyes on the streets outside. They'd left London for Southampton in the early hours of the morning. Despite the car's plushy seats, it had been a very uncomfortable trip. Her father sat opposite her, reading the newspaper the whole time. Christina was glad she hadn't had to stare at her father's severe expression, but rather to a picture of the Titanic, so long it took half of the front page.

The silver car slowed down when they reached the harbor. They were not the only ones boarding the ship with a car or two or five. A massive crowd had amassed on the wharf, either to see the passengers off or simply to see the boat for itself.

Samuel Braithwhite folded his newspaper and placed it with unnecessary violence on the seat beside him.

"Why have we stopped?" he asked loudly.

The driver took a second to reply.

"I'm sorry, sir, but a few people are embarking ahead of us."

The blond man checked his pocket watch, although he seemed to be glaring at the hands, daring them to move forward.

"If we miss our boat I will sue," he said as he pocketed the watch back.

Christina wanted to roll her eyes, but she didn't. It would do her no good if her father noticed it. Instead, she remained perfectly still, her back straight against the cushioned backrest. She had her back to the sea, and could only see the crowd through the window. They certainly seemed excited, she thought.

"You would think they would have better planned their ship's departure, especially a big eventful departure such as this one," her father continued to complain. "I suppose that's to be expected from a company like White Star."

Christina wanted to ask why her father had chosen to travel on this ship if he didn't like the company, but she held her tongue. Soon enough, the vehicle moved forward, until it stopped again. The driver spoke with someone outside, giving the name of his passengers, then cleared his throat and said:

"Sir, you must step out."

"If I must..."

Samuel opened the car door and walked out. Christina could hear him speaking with an employee from the company.

"Good morning, sir. If you wouldn't mind following mister Johnson, he will lead you aboard. All of your belongings will be brought along."

Christina decided this was as good a time as any to make an appearance. She suspected her father was capable of forgetting her in the car. Not capable, willing. She stepped out. She was wearing a light blue dress, with white lace sleeves. Her blond hair was pinned into an intricate bun. She'd forgone a hat. An expensive pearl and silver necklace was around her neck. She shut the carriage door behind her and turned around. The boat loomed over the whole wharf. Christina couldn't see the end of it. Black paint gave way to gold then white. The hull seemed punctured by hundreds of windows. She could barely see the funnels on top of it, though she could see the smoke rising from them, joining the clouds in the sky.

"This way, sir, miss," the young crew member said.
