A/N: Hello everyone! I have just posted the first part of three of my new fanfiction! It is based on some revelations about Shin's character that were released recently. This is the beginning, but if you want to read the whole story, the link will be at the end!
Baylan’s trail had grown cold. Shin had followed him as far as she could, through forests and mountains. Ahead, a ruin was stuck between two cliffs, as if the earth had opened to swallow it, only to find its taste repugnant. Shin couldn’t blame the earth either. It was a Dathomirian ruin. Every step she took toward it made her skin crawl.
She had always hated witches and their magick, for as long as she could remember. She’d had faith in her master and would not have questioned his involvement with Elsbeth, but she had hated the woman and every second spent with her had been nerve wracking. She was glad the witch was dead.
Behind her, her ash-colored howler whined and pulled on its leash. It didn’t want to enter the ruins either. Shin had grown used to its cowardly way now. She turned to it and ordered:
“Tota.”
The howler fell on its haunches, its tongue lolling out of its huge mouth. She patted it between the ears then walked away. She climbed ancient fallen borders to get to the entrance of the temple. The sun was behind the tall cliffs, their shadows soaking the warmth out of the air. Shin brought her cape tighter around her. The shivers running down her back were not caused by the cold, however, but by the eerie energy coming off the temple.
Two statues held the entrance up, their bodies snapped to pieces but kept upright by moss. Shin could barely guess their features. She assumed they were witches of some kinds. What else could witches worship but themselves? Shin stepped through the doorway. The anxious energy she felt grew tenfold, making the back of her brain buzz with discomfort. The roof of the temple was partially collapsed, leaving holes of light to fall within. The vegetation of Peridea had taken back its place within the structure. Moss and grass carpeted the cracked stone floor in equal measure. All the windows were blocked by the cliffs on either side. The head of the giant statue at the end of the room had snapped at the neck and fallen to the ground. The neck and shoulders were covered with sticks and feathers, nests made not too long ago.
Shin took a few steps forward, her footsteps echoing through the temple. She couldn’t see any sign of her master, but knowing him and his quest, he must have come through, she thought. She closed her eyes, feeling for the Force and his presence in it. Nothing came to her, as usual. If only she’d mastered it more. She’d spent so many years with her master but could emulate so few of the things he’d taught her. Sometimes, she couldn’t help but wonder why he had taken her as his apprentice when she wasn’t talented. Maybe he had been right to leave her behind, she thought bitterly. She would have only slowed him down.

A/N: Hello everyone! Happy Halloween! To celebrate my favorite holiday I have posted a wolfwren one-shot. You will find an extract below and if you want to read the whole thing, the link will be at the end!
The old Sedan pulled up into the school’s parking lot and Baylan cut the engine. Shin could hear the music booming from the gymnasium already, some pop song she couldn’t stand. She kept her gaze on her lap and made no move to get out.
“Just for an hour,” Baylan said. “If you don’t like it then call me and I’ll come to pick you up in an hour. Otherwise, you can stay for as long as you want.”
Shin didn’t move. A couple of monsters walked past the car and despite their costume, she recognized them as football players. She wanted nothing to do with them, or anyone at this stupid school party anyway.
“Competitions are coming up,” she said. “I should be at home training. Sabine is…”
Baylan turned as best he could in his seat to look at her.
“You’ll train tomorrow. Today you get to be a normal teenager. I’m sure Sabine Wren takes time off training every once in a while. Now come on, get out there before I decide to humiliate you by stepping out of the car.”
Shin rolled her eyes but unbuckled her seatbelt. She opened the car door but before she could step out, Baylan called her back.
“Don’t forget your mask.”
From the backseat, he grabbed a mask and handed it to her. It was a wolf mask, gray and metallic, with a snout extending over the nose and ears at the top of the head. Shin had not chosen her costume, not really. When Baylan had told her what she wanted to be for Halloween, she had dismissingly said a wolf. Now it was coming back to bite her.
She tied the mask behind her head. She had tied her platinum hair up into a bun, uncovering the short, shaved underside. The mask’s strap sat just at the edge of the undercut and immediately began to itch.
“One hour,” she said.
“Or more. Depends how much you’re enjoying yourself.”
She rolled her eyes again and slammed the car door shut. Baylan took that as his signal to leave. He turned on the engine and drove off slowly, mindful of the other students walking through the parking lot in the direction of the gymnasium. Shin was almost tempted to stay out here for an hour, sit on a bench and wait for the time to pass. However, the night was colder than she was ready for. She wore a gray checkered shirt and her usual black trousers. Already smoke escaped her nose as she breathed. Though she would rather be anywhere but there, she hurried to the party.

A/N: Hello everyone! Day 3 of @agathaallalongweek and I wrote a very bloody story inspired by Carmilla, which I hope all you vampire lovers will enjoy! Here is the beginning and if you'd like to read the rest the link will be at the end!
Nothing ever happened at Castle Salem, to Agatha’s great despair, so when servants brought back an unconscious young woman victim, she rushed back inside to see what was going on. She searched through the empty corridors until she saw the servants gathered near a door. Brushing past them, she reached for the handle just as the door opened. Her mother stepped out and gave Agatha her usual severe glare.
“What’s going on?” she asked.
“There was a carriage accident up the road. I’ve sent for a doctor but I fear she won’t make it.”
Agatha frowned.
“Why?”
“She’s cold as death already.”
Agatha wanted to see for herself, but her mother stood in her way and stared her down.
“Agatha,” she said in that sharp, cutting voice that Agatha hated. “This is none of your concern. Go.”
Agatha grumbled and wanted to protest, but one glower from her mother and she walked off, stomping down the stairs to return to the garden. Simmering with anger, she threw herself on a bench and crossed her arms. She hated her mother, and she hated this place so isolated where nothing ever happened. She wanted to leave, but she had nowhere else to go.
From the corner of her eyes, she watched as the doctor arrived on horseback and entered the castle. He stayed inside for an hour, then left. Agatha couldn’t help but wonder whether he’d left because the young woman was stable or because she had died. Once again, curiosity got the better of her. She walked back inside, squinting against the summer sun above until she was in the shadow of the large castle. Dark ivy grew over the four walls of the old stone building, reaching up to the two chimneys on either side. The inside was always cold and damp, even on a bright day like this one.
Agatha tiptoed up the stairs, head on a swivel as she searched for any sign of her mother. She stopped at the edge of the hallway and peeked around the corner, but it seemed her mother wasn’t keeping watch. Agatha’s footsteps made no sound on the carpet as she reached the door. She opened it and slid inside, mindful to shut the door behind her.
“Hello?”
She jumped around in surprise, stunned when she saw the young woman sat up in bed and staring at her. She had beautiful brown eyes that seemed to glow in the shadows of the curtains, and her lips were pulled into a curious smile. Though Agatha was struck by her beauty, she snapped out of her it when she felt heat creep up her cheeks.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t know you were awake.”

A/N: Hello everyone! I'm back after last week break with a Wolfwren vampire story! Fair warning it's a little bloody (and a little sexy). Here is the beginning and if you want to read the rest of the first chapter, the link will be at the end! Enjoy!
When Sabine had decided to change career, she really could have picked anything. But because she liked to make herself suffer, she became a nurse. And because she was so tightly wound with self-control, she became a nurse at the emergency services.
Working the night shift meant that she saw less kids who broke their legs falling off a trampoline and more people caught in drunk driving accidents and high as hell teenagers convinced they could jump from the roof and into the pool. In the early hours of the evening, she might see the tail end of people who had come to the ER in the afternoon, but by two in the morning, she was just waiting for the next car accident victims to roll in.
Her coworkers had gone to get a coffee while the room was relatively quiet. Sabine had declined the coffee, as usual. The other nurses usually made fun of her, telling her then she might be young now but give it a few years and she would be running through the night shift on coffee just like them. Jokes on them, Sabine was definitely older than them.
The call came through from one of the ambulances, and Sabine picked up since she was the only one at the nurse’s station.
“Emergency?”
“We have another one for you. ETA 2 minutes.”
“Car crash?”
“Pedestrian.”
Sabine expected the worse when pedestrians were hit by cars. A lot of blood, usually.
“We’ll be ready.”
She hung up and jumped into action. She rushed out of the ER, grabbing a gurney on the way there. She pushed it out and arrived outside just as the ambulance pulled out, lights blinking hard into the moonless night. The EMTs at the back pushed the door open so hard that it snapped against the truck. They transferred the patient from one gurney to the other. Sabine pushed the gurney back inside, helped by one of the EMTs.
“Pressure is 125 over 75. She’s lost a lot of blood.”
“What happened?”
“She got hit by a car while crossing, but the car had just been stopped at a red light.”
Sabine looked down at the woman whose broken arm was clutched against her chest. She had lost consciousness already. She had to focus to understand what she was looking at. The blood, as always, called all of her attention. All she saw, for a second, was red. Her throat began to itch. It was only through years of practice that she managed to push it all aside and see past the blood. Her radius was broken, the bone protruding through the skin like a shard of bloodied stone. She had a wound on the shoulder that required stitching as it leaked blood fast. The rest were superficial nips.
“She was wounded already before the car?” Sabine deduced from the severity of the wounds and the EMT’s explanation.
“The driver said he saw her stumble in front of him but he couldn’t tell if she was bleeding or not.”
“We’ll take it from here.”
A/N: Hello everyone! I just posted the sequel to last week's one-shot, "Casual" that everyone was asking about! Here is the begining and if you'd like to read the rest, you will find the link at the end.
“You have an appointment at 10:30 tomorrow, so don’t be late.”
Sabine frowned. She tugged the phone against her ear using her shoulder then flipped through her schedule.
“Er… no, I have a flight at 9.”
“I reassigned it to someone else.”
Sabine’s frown only deepened. Shin had promised her that she would not use her position to mess with Sabine’s, even if it meant they couldn’t see each other all the time when Sabine was flying far away.
“Why?”
“You told me you had ideas you wanted to share with my father. So, I got you an appointment with him.”
Sabine’s eyes grew wide. While she had a few suggestions, at best, she didn’t think they were worth an appointment with her boss.
“Are you serious?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
A pause. Then, Shin replied, with a slight confusion:
“You do have ideas, right?”
“I mean, yeah, a few.”
Shin sighed.
“Doesn’t really matter anyway.”
“What does that mean?”
“It’s… well, he saw us at Bounty last week and he wanted to meet you. I told him you had some ideas to share but I’m sure it’s less about that and more about meeting you.”
Sabine pursed her lips. They had been dating for three months now, and while everything was going great, she hadn’t expected to meet Shin’s father – her boss – so soon.
“Is it going to be a problem?”
“No, no… I guess he’s just curious.”
A/N: Hey guys! Here’s an extract from my new Zadison High School AU, in which Zoe and Kyle are childhood best friends and Kyle suggests to Zoe that they should fake date to make Madison jealous so she’ll ask Zoe out. If you’re interested, the link to the full story is down there!
Zoe opened her locker with a careless pull. She ignored the way the lock banged against the neighboring locker and began sorting through the many books inside. She found the ones she needed and stuffed them in her backpack.
"Do you want me to carry that for you?"
She barely jumped when Kyle's voice echoed beside her. She'd seen his legs under her locker door coming into her peripheral vision.
"What? Haven't you done enough pull-ups at the gym today or something?" she replied snarkily.
He glanced at her over the locker door.
"I'm not sure you know what pull-ups are."
Zoe closed the locker and picked up her backpack, grunting as the weight settled on her shoulders.
"You know I don't."
"You sure you don't want me to take it?" Kyle asked again.
Zoe sighed. This was a game they played at least once a week. She knew he would continue to ask until they made it home.
"Fine. Whatever."
She pulled off her backpack and left it on the ground. Kyle, with a satisfied smile, leaned down to pick up the bag by the shoulder strap and pull it on.
"Are we going to the cinema on Saturday?" he asked as he secured the bag over his shoulder. "After the game, I mean."
Zoe shrugged vaguely. Someone had caught her attention in the distance.
"I don't know. Maybe?"
"So, I know what you're gonna say, but there's this great horror movie coming out. I mean, it looks great, and I think you'll like the story..."
Zoe gave a non-committal hum. Heels clicked into the hallway. Zoe's eyes followed the small and slim yet imposing figure of Madison Montgomery as she made her way through the crowd. People seemed to part in front of her and she never had to slow down even for a step. Her brown eyes remained fixed straight ahead of her. She pulled her sunglasses from over her head. For a second, her eyes flickered to the side, finding Zoe's. The next, they were hidden behind the taint lenses of the sunglasses, and she disappeared around the corner.
"...and it's not a possession movie this time, I promise."
Zoe snapped back into consciousness as Kyle waited expectantly for an answer. She blinked and gave another shrug.
"We'll see."
I'm in the middle of writing a book but Netflix has forced my hand, so who's ready for an Avatrice Priory of the Orange Tree AU fanfic?
