when you step into your room after a hard day in university, the last thing you expect to see is a spider hanging down from your ceiling. it’d be okay if the spider wasn’t giant with red and blue all over it and didn’t have your diary in his hands.

“what the hell?” you look around warily as you quickly close your door. “what exactly are you doing here?”

he tilts his head to the side, shaking your item in his hands, “reading this. your life is pretty boring, by the way.”

you roll your eyes, ripping your diary from his hands, and fall onto your bed, tossing your bag somewhere. ignoring his whining, you close your eyes, feeling yourself relax despite the presence of the boy. though, as soon as you open your eyes you are met with the white orbs of his mask watching you intently.

he lowers himself by your bed’s side, careful not to touch your sheets with his suit as it is a little dusty with city’s dirt.

“i wanna show you my face.”

“what?!” you sit up immediately, wary of his next actions when he only chuckles at your reaction, shaking his head slightly, and reaches his hands to the back of his mask. “wait, no, i’m not ready-!”

all the words stick in your throat unable to come out as soon as you see his face. your eyes widen in surprise, going over and over every inch of his face while he only continues to stare back at you as if he hasn’t seen your face a million times before. the way he is between your legs doesn’t help either, but he is literally so tall that his face is on the same level as yours. his face is familiar yet so new, yet you can’t bring yourself to think about anything else than how pretty he actually is.

“how does your hair even fit under the mask?” you mutter the question out loud and slap a hand over your mouth as soon as you realize what happened.

the boy before you laughs, ruffling his white locks, “that’s the first thing you wanna ask? not even my name?”

his question makes you realize things you never thought about before or never really paid any mind. who even is he? a local superhero who once helped you and somehow managed to worm himself into your life with his often unexpected late night appearances and ability to talk pretty much non-stop about everything and nothing. the only thing you haven’t discussed with him would probably be him, the boy under the mask.

of course, you wondered what was the name of the so called “spider-boy” and “spiderling” and your “friendly neighbourhood spider-man”, but you weren’t the one to push when he told you that it’d be better if you didn’t know his true identity.

so you sigh after a few moments of silence, rubbing your temples, “what’s your name then?”

“gojo satoru.” your brain short-circuits.

“wait- gojo as in gojo inc? the largest tech conglomerate in the world?”

“yep, that’s the one,” he quickly says, and then looks around before rubbing his neck with shyness that is foreign to him. “uh, do you maybe have some spare clothes i could put on?”

you silently move away to walk to your closet and while you dig for some oversized shirt and pants, your mind is running a mile an hour. you think about all of the times your unassuming self let the local hero into your room, or when you spent your evening chatting with him on the roofs of not really trustworthy areas of town. the times he offered you a quick ride home, gently grabbing your waist and shielding your eyes when you started panicking about the height and the speed of his movements.

as he changes in the bathroom, you quickly google the company’s name and look for him in images - and there he is, in all of his human glory. standing by his father’s side as the heir of the gojo inc. and looking pretty smug. the thought of cameras barely capturing his true beauty sets your face on fire because you were able to see it up close. but you also figure out one of the reasons why he hasn’t told anyone about his secret.

you are the first one to know about his secret.

“miss me?” he whispers right in your ear, making you scream. while satoru starts giggling like an idiot, you hurriedly push away and order to stay in your bathroom because you’re pretty sure your mother heard you clearly.

“is everything okay?” she asks from the kitchen, you assume, and you grip the handle of the bathroom door when you feel him lean against it from the other side. unfortunately for you, the only excuse you are able to come up with is:

“yeah, i just thought i saw a spider!”

you hear gojo’s stifled laughter even before you finish the phrase, and as soon as you make sure that your mom isn’t concerned anymore you let him out.

“what a good girl you are, said the truth,” he wiggles his eyebrows, “saw a spider, didn’t you?”

“ugh, shut up,” you roll your eyes, “i’m still confused.”

“‘bout what?” gojo wonders as he plops down on your bed, comfortably sitting against the headboard. you find yourself compelled to sit by his side and not opposed to him.

“why did you show me who you really are?”

satoru shrugs, swiftly laying his head on your shoulder and effectively making you want to throw yourself out of the window even though you’re pretty sure he’d be quick to save you.

“just wanted you to know, i guess? i trust you, y’know.”

you’re so confused but it’s hard to focus on anything else than his weight on the side of your body. you can feel how tired he is and even though you have a million questions to ask him, you keep your mouth shut, only nodding at his words and relaxing enough to rest your head on top of his. you know that your mother can come into your room anytime and misunderstand the whole situation(understandably so), but as you open your mouth to speak up gojo gets ahead of you,

“can i stay here for a bit please? i’ll leave soon, i promise.”

“alright.”

and then it’s like nothing has changed; soon he is talking your ears off about his day and how many bad guys he managed to catch, but he is by your side and not lazily spinning in your squeaky chair or hanging down from the ceiling. so you decide on asking him all the questions that his revelation brought to your mind the next time he is in your room, not as spider-man but as gojo satoru.
