What would be something you would want to say to your younger self if you could?
I think I would share a quote from Robert Jordan with him: "The oak fought the wind and was broken, the willow bent when it must and survived."
As with nearly everything in our world, this quote, offers myriad interpretations. Yet, I interpret it in a way that might have pointed my younger self in the right direction.
The oak embodies strength, steadfastness, and resilience - its very identity. It feels invincible, unyielding, a necessity; should it encounter something matching its strength, it would break. However, as anyone who is living knows, nothing matches life's strength, which strikes relentlessly and unapologetically. An oak, taught only to be strong and never to bend under life's winds, is destined to break. In contrast, the willow symbolizes flexibility, adaptability, and endurance - capable of bending with life's challenges without ever breaking.
The perceived strength of the oak thus becomes its greatest weakness, while the perceived weakness of the willow reveals its true strength.
Yet, I fear these words would fall on deaf ears, for the mindset of "having to be strong" is and always was deeply ingrained within me. Despite years of reflection, I have been unable to purge these thought patterns. It is a deeply rooted behavior, a toxin coursing through my blood, likely forever poisoning my veins.
frankly, you make it hard not to ask you to write my name in such beautiful handwriting!
Thank you for your compliment.
You haven't posted in a while so I'm hoping you finally gathered a bit of courage and offed yourself đ
Sorry to disappoint you again, but I'm still here. And to keep your hopes low, sometimes I don't post for weeks or months, that's completely normal for me.
But thanks for apparently caring enough about me to bother posting a message like this in my absence.
Since I've already done this on previous accounts on other platforms, I thought about resuming an old ritual of mine. The idea would be to ask a selected group of people questions from the fields of psychology, philosophy, art and creativity, society and ethics or a mixture of these areas.
I can't yet say how regularly questions will be asked, as this depends very much on my own mood and creativity.
In terms of structure, I plan to post the questions on my blog and tag individuals who are interested. Subsequently, you can either generate a distinct post or reblog to respond and express your opinions.
As an illustration, you can refer to the response provided by @readsal to my first question: https://www.tumblr.com/readsal/737080816398696448/muse-playing-the-harp-by-antoine-auguste-ernest
What would such questions look like, for example?
Psychology: If you could change one thing about the way your mind works, what would it be?
Philosophy: Do you believe in free will, or do you think our lives are predetermined?
Art and creativity: If your life were a painting, what colors and symbols would dominate the canvas?
Society and ethics: Do you think morality is subjective, or are there universal moral principles?
If anyone is interested in such questions, please feel free to like this post or let me know by other means. I would then create a list and include the respective people.
No offense dude but you are so stupid and act so smart all the time. We're both going to die someday while I lived and enjoyed my life to the fullest without compromise and you struggled through workouts and an optimized diet every day. So tell me: what do you really get out of all this smartass?
A bigger coffin, I assume.
Those legs look so strong and powerful... God I wish you would just grab me and hipthrust me like a fully loaded barbell for a few sets....
A night or two? I guess I'm not even good enough for a thirsty tumblr anon no more.
But in all seriousness, what do you hope to gain from such messages? I ignore most of them anyway.
If you want to practice pick-up lines, just tell me. The one with the barbell could at least be described as creative, euphemistically.
Do you listen to German music? Can you name a good band/song?
Haifisch - Rammstein.
Should a man pay for the first date? Would you pay for the first date?
I believe one should not think in absolutes in such matters. So no, a man should not necessarily pay for the first date.
If I invited a woman, then I would pay for her, because she would be my guest; but to be honest, my best dates so far were the ones where you didn't have to pay for anything and the focus was solely on the other person.
Why do you get so many hater questions? Are you an asshole magnet offline as well?
I think it's because I've had online profiles on other sites before, and there may have been a few hateful followers that migrated with me to tumblr. Apart from that, I stand firmly for my values and views and am open for confrontation, which in a way also makes you a target for such people; you can't please everyone after all.
In a way, I'm an asshole magnet in real life too, yes. However, to elaborate on the whole thing would go beyond the scope of an answer here.
Finally, I will say that it doesn't really bother me. At the end of the day, they're all just words and I'm the one who gives or takes away value from them. Some of these messages are even quite funny. Of course, I publish only a very small part of them.
