phantom of the paradise novelization liveblog here we go
I don't know that much about maine but I feel neutral about winslow being from there. he does strike me as a northerner, as well as someone from a small town
(paraphrasing but) "it was kind of winslow's fault his piano teacher killed himself" HUH???
"alan d. swan" holy moly at least "dorian" had some pizzazz
also winslow being 18 and not even out of high school is. a choice. in my opinion having him be in his 30s is more compelling
"phoenix" being a stage name does make sense but idk I kinda liked the idea her parents just named her that
this really does read like bad fanfic but it's not especially funny, just sort of dull... though there are some particularly egregiously bad moments, those aren't funny either
"autistic blob" CHRIST
winslow does not beat up any guards but the description of him losing his grip just makes me think of that "I'm insaaane... I'm crazayyy" video
whyyyy is this book so racist.
winslow just goes back to his old hotel after being in prison for four months and being horribly disfigured in the record press accident. ok man.
life's like a movie, write your own ending
One of the worst parts of current internet culture is that it makes good old fashioned complaining so difficult. I don’t wanna cancel anyone or bully anyone, I’m not trying to form a hate mob I’m not calling anyone out, i just wanna bitch about something. Because complaining is fun, good for you, even. Is that too much to ask? Where is the room for shooting the shit?
edit of that one american psycho picture that's been living in my head rent-free for months
The best quality a fictional man can have is being deeply, pathetically, wretchedly in love with someone, I think
Redacted FBI report on the Monkees, 1967 for
“‘…left wing innovations of a political nature.’ These messages and pictures were flashes of riots in Berkeley, anti-U.S. messages on the war in Vietnam, racial riots in Selma, Alabama, and similar messages…”
