South African born , Australian based Carl Kapp has designed a beautiful and fresh Summer 2012 collection . Having worked at Kenzo and Donna Karan to name a few, his pieces are draped sensually but elegantly on the body.
With a customer base of Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett and Rose Byrne who all wear his dresses with style, this young man has a a gained a good following. The lucky people of Sydney were is shop and atelier is based can have his dresses made to order.
One on my list of must haves... shame Australia is not round the corner.

Last night to celebrate a friends birthday I finally got to go dinner to The Wapping Project based in an old Hydraulic Power Station with constantly changing Art Exhibitions.
We were luckily to have booked on a night that "Yohji Making Waves" Installation was on, by Yohji Yamamoto. Set in the 1890's Boiler Room filled with water you are taken around in a small wooden boat by their version of a Gondoliere as Yohji's Wedding dress Installation hangs Illuminated from the ceiling. There is such an ethereal ambiance that you feel enveloped in its cocoon, we so enjoyed that little trip.
Even if you are having dinner in a industrial space they manage to make you feel at home with their very warm service and the visual feast of architecture meets art. On old Tv's dotted around the vast dinning space Yohji Yamamoto's catwalk show video's were shown to tie in with Exhibition.
Outside there in a little patch of green sits a Garden Shed turned Bookshop where every Thursday evening an artist, author or poet is invited to give a reading or a performance.
There were other areas to explore but wanted to save it for a next time, where am sure it will be different again.
I loved every minute of it and will certainly return.

The Royal Academy of Arts in London presents David Hockney's The Bigger Picture, featuring very Large scale paintings inspired by the East Yorkshire Landscape, these works were made especially for the galleries of The Royal Academy. What a lovely marriage, I cannot wait to see David Hockney's brilliance in such a way.
Am not going to compete with Art Critics in writing something very clever and intellectual, for me his work visually says it all, so here are some resources if you want to know more on David Hockney...

Artist, Collector of Antiques, Painter, and Brazilian born Olivier Mourao is a man of many talents.
Ibiza has been Olivier's vacation spot since the early 70's, first he lived in a penthouse in town with his friend and fellow artist Prince Tomasz Lubomirski One day he fell upon a Mediterranean style house designed by Spanish Architect Carlos Larios Matinez which was the perfect canvas for Olivier's incredible creative eye. They purchased the house and with the collaboration of Brazilian Architect Perla Stefani they created a dream home.
Filled with incredible pieces from a 18th century Francis Assisi santo to Ibecencan ceramics, 19th century Indian furniture amongst other surprises. The garden which Lubomirski oversaw the design of, can host parties for about 700 guests sprinkled with cosy nooks, and alfresco dinning under the citrus trees. Love how they have created such an elegant home on island renowned for its parties and basic living.

Travel the world with the stupendous windows of Hermes Paris. Pure Creative genius! I think I will make this into another series, there are so many to choose from.
I wonder if they hire more than one team to do the window displays. What an amazing job, wish I could do that. I shall investigate this further, in the meantime enjoy your journeys.
