Danny ends up at Wayne Manor for whatever plot reason and freeze frames seeing Alfred. Alfred raises one curious eyebrow and Danny blurts out with delight and bafflement,

“Hobson?!”

The batfam are now baffled, Danny’s practically vibrating in place, and Alfred just sighs in his fond way.

“It is good to see you well Master Daniel.” And then he’s got an armful of purring ghostboy.

Danny: You are going down dude. Come on, put up a fight. Ugh, I win. Again. Hobson, you stink at this game

Hobson: Beg pardon, Master Daniel. There was precious little gaming while I was a youth during the Blitz.

I’m pretty convinced Hobson knew about Danny being Phantom, given he easily and realistically could have overheard the trio’s argument over the giw and the robobuddies.

But also the exchange where he gives Danny advice that spurs him on to get involved?

Hobson: Care for a shake?

Danny: No thanks, Hobson. No appetite.

Hobson: Forgive me, Master Daniel. You seem a tad…bummed. Did your milkshake straw become clogged?

Danny: I'm just going through some stuff.

Hobson: Perhaps a rousing game of Caveman Car Thief would quicken the pulse.

Danny: I've played my games, bought tons of extra junk, counted my money. Again. It's just not…satisfying.

Hobson: Dare I say perhaps there is more to life than wealth. And what do you suppose your purpose might be Master Daniel.

Danny: Huh. Lately, um, being a rich jerk.Hobson Does that feel like the real you?

Hobson: It seems to me your friends Tucker and Sam know the real you.

Alfred is the only one who can call him Daniel and he doesn’t flinch or glower about it.

I’m losing it over Danny calling him Hobs casually and not getting corrected. (But only Danny; Alfred just looks at anyone else and raises an eyebrow) The first time someone without context hears it they’re kind of offended???

“Uh his names Alfred.”

“Yeah?? I mean we talked about it and he thinks it’s funny so…”

Alfred’s Alfred/Butler powers sensing when Danny’s mood drops and just arrives with some odd looking milkshake and Danny stammering about him not having to make him milkshakes anymore

“I’m poor again remember?”

“It truly is no hardship Master Daniel. Consider it On The House.” With a wink and little smile. Danny is delighted and it’s an adorable scene until someone asks it try it and it’s bacon and cheese puffs.

Tim: We have cheese puffs???

That absolute fucking Chaos that would be unleashed when Danny asks Alfred for some wild ass Milkshake combo like fucking chili pepper and oranger or some other wild ass combo and Alfred just Makes It. Danny so fucking delighted about it.

Bonus points if Alfred thought he had straight up been sent to a different world completely and so hadn’t thought anything of it until Daniel Fenton appears in front of him again.

I think Alfred should be allowed his own crazy adventures. As a treat.

I like to think that in this case Alfred was disguised as an older dude and now he actually IS an older dude.

AU where the war ends for (reasons), Fire Lord Azulon is still on the throne, and the Southern Water Tribe and the Fire Nation are struggling to broker a truce. So the Fire Nation decides that the best way to foster peace is with an arranged marriage.

Hakoda would never force any of his people to go through with this, so as the chief, he steps up and agrees to marry, no matter how much his heart still aches for Kya. Katara and Sokka are furious on their dad’s behalf, and agree to make things difficult for their future “”””step-parent”””

But Fire Lord Azulon has Ozai whispering in his ear, so the person he sends to the Southern Water Tribe is 16yo Prince Zuko. The least useful royal.

The Fire Nation ship arrives. No one had high hopes for this political marriage, but everyone is horrified when a terrified teenager steps onto the ice and introduces himself as Hakoda’s future spouse.

Zuko is quietly freaking out, but trying to hide it. Azula and other people at the palace have been whispering about how dangerous and violent and savage the Water Tribe Chief is. Hakoda seems polite, but he’s so much bigger than Zuko and the same age as his father, and Zuko has no choice but to marry him for the sake of his nation. 

Except Hakoda isn’t having any of that. There’s no way he’s marrying a scared kid the same age as his son. The deal is off. How can he keep negotiating with the Fire Lord, who sent his terrified grandson to the other side of the world to marry a man twice his age?? No fucking way.

Cue Zuko being adopted into the Water Tribe family. And who knows, maybe Katara and Sokka will take Zuko out in a canoe to work off some steam, and they’ll accidentally discover a certain frozen monk that helps them bring about real peace.

DpxDc AU: What’s an adoption paper or two between bros?

Danny is starting to realize that since Jazz left the house for university, his parents aren’t really good at well, being his parents. They’re obsessed with his alter ego to the point that they ignore his normal ego, and that uh, hurts his feelings. Like, a lot. Meal times have gotten weirder and more inconsistent, and he’s starting to wonder if they suspect what’s really going on with him.

They’ve started to say “You know you can tell us anything” these days when he sees them outside their lab (which isn’t frequent) but the normal amount of ghost hate speech hasn’t changed. If anything it’s gotten worse. Just like everything else.

Danny joined the whole-ass justice league to fill his spare time after high school and his parents are literally none the wiser. Like, he's a part time high-school senior at 17 and a full time international hero. His parents only comment on the fact that the menace Phantom is costing them a lot in airline tickets as they try and apprehend him all over the world. Hell, they caught Ellie for a second when he was in Morrocco and it got ugly fast. She's a junior member now but mostly spends her time with some doofus that has a magic traveling house.

And really, he's fine with his schedule of going to school, going ghost and making a difference, and then returning to a dramatically silent house. Really.

Then one day his new friend and co-team lead Red Robin makes a brief mention about his own childhood of neglect and Danny makes a joke, "What, no adoption papers for the homies?"

He laughs as he says it but something in his leader's eyes looks sharp, and Kon is sighing in the background something that sounds suspiciously like dear Rao you've done it now.

Next time Danny is on the Watchtower, he's brought into a meeting with Red Robin, Batman and various other JL team leaders.

"Adoption papers are very much for the homies. I've also included the option of emancipation, as you'll see in the green folder, but I am one hundred percent serious about adopting you."

"Red, you're like, 3 months younger than me." Danny deadpans.

"Adoption is for the homies and I'm emancipated. And If i'm reading Batman correctly, you're facing three outcomes right now."

"Three?"

"One: I adopt you and you become my legal dependent. Two: Batman adopts you and I become your legal brother. or Three: You emancipate yourself while allowing us to provide for you while your housing situation is sorted out."

"... Uh. Door one?" Danny is having too many feelings. Why does batman look disappointed? What is Jazz going to say? What on earth???

"Welcome to the Drake Family." Red shakes his hand up and down, the grin on his face feral and the plan towards being emancipated from the Fentons and adopted by his boss is a weird one.

But eventually, a few weeks later, he's had a pretty delicious dinner by his new adoptive grandfather-tler and is watching a movie with Tim and Kon on the couch and he's just so happy and comfortable and warm...

"Will this make Kon my dad if you two get married?" Danny laughs and it's the closest he gets to being disowned.
