Maybe you’ve already gone over this, and I just missed it, but how, exactly is Tom a villain? Obviously his plan to violently stop whoever killed his wife and is targeting his daughter is, legally speaking, not great, but I don’t think he’s done anything other than put butterflies all over Paris and he’s not planning to do anything but stop Sabine’s killer.
Compared to Hawkmoth, its much more tame, but relentlessly blackmailing the most famous fuckwads in Paris so he can get information ( and collect enough money for him and Marinette to live like kings whenever she decides she wants to stop baking) isn't exactly a super upstanding thing to do. Not to mention you can possess people using an Akuma, so there's high risks for those who's refuse his "deals."

"I'm so, so sorry you had to find out like that..."
I really hope these kids will be okay :( for now have a bonus:
What does Tom think of Emilie after meeting her?
the only Agreste he's not massively disappointed with is Adrien himself. It's a good thing that's the only one he plans on sparing.
TOH SPOILERS
