Warning(s): Swearing, Police!Sam đ€, situationship (not specified tho), mentions of fighting & injuries
Notes: Based off of this scene in TASM (gotta be one of my favorite scenes). Wrote this while taking a break from writing chp 6 of LTLI. Motivation for this kinda just came to me and I've always wanted to do a spider!reader thing
Masterlist|Next Part
You limped, nearly collapsing on the roof as you held your side.Your trap for Dr. Connors did not work out how you planned, and your recklessness to get more photos than you needed ended you up with none.
You painfully crawled down, making your way to the fire escape outside the window you recognized. You knocked on it three times with your head, ignoring your pounding headache. You kept your head resting on the window as you heard clicking from the other side. Tara looked over to you and smiled before saying, âCome in,â then turning back to the assignment she was working on.
You push the window up, sliding through the opening as you exhale tiredly.Â
âYou should maybe, uh, consider coming in through the main entrance,â Tara jokes and you huff a laugh.Â
You struggle to lift yourself until finally hopping into her room
âAlso, my sister is under the impression that you require psychiatric attentionâŠ.â Tara finally turns to you when she hears you grunt and her eyes slightly widen.
âY/N.â She stood up from her chair and rushed over to you. Youâre now leaning against the wall, when Tara comes up to you.Â
âWhat the hell happened?â She asked quickly.
âYou should see the other guy,â you say in a husky voice; you can still see Tara fretting over your injuries.
She carefully walks you to her bed, gently laying you down, not wanting to cause you any further pain. You tilt your head back as you continue to speak through deep breaths, âthe other guy, in this instance being a giant mutant lizard.â
âYouâre all bruised upââ
âTara, Iâm fiââ
âYouâre not fine,â Tara interrupted in a sharp tone.
âTaraââ
You both stopped your movement when you heard Samâs voice from the other side of the door.
âHey, Tara, I have to run to the station. Do you want me to pick up some ice cream from that place you like, on the way back?â You and Tara shared a look before she got up and you rolled to the floor.Â
Tara opened the door just a few inches to greet her older sister. âNo, Sam. I do not want ice cream. I canât afford any distractions right now. I have a bunch of exams to prepare for,â Tara said, trying to fake an aggravated tone.
âOkay, I just remember somebody saying last week that her fantasy was to live in an ice cream house,â Sam reminded Tara.Â
âWell that's impractical,â she said, shutting the door. âAnd fattening,â she added after opening the door, now shutting it again.
She turned around to see you peeking from behind the bed, giving her a dopey smile. âAn ice cream house?â You questioned, still wearing the same expression.
Tara rolled her eyes, nodding, still not saying a word before turning back around to open the door once again.Â
âSorryâŠâ Tara apologized to Sam.Â
âItâs really good ice cream.â
âItâs just I canât, um, I'm doing this umâpaper and Iâm really focused on it. Didnât mean to snap at you.â
âItâs okay, I get it. How about I bring you a some for later?âÂ
âOkay, sounds good. Thanks Sammy,â Tara said with a smile before shutting the door one more time.
As soon as she walked back in the room, she gave you no room to talk. Already giving you directions to follow as she got her medkit from her nightstandâs bottom drawer.Â
âRoll down your suit.â
You sigh but comply. âIâm fine, just a little banged up. I almost got him thoughâDr. Connors. I can feel it, Tar. Iâm gonna get him next time.â
âI swear, Y/N, if you get yourself killed I will make sure you regret it,â the younger Carpenter threatened.
âWhy? Gonna miss me?â You teased, looking at the other girl as her attention was on the rubbing alcohol she was preparing.Â
âIn your dreams, Y/L/N,â Tara replied, but you saw the tiny smile she gave you before looking back at what she was doing.Â
âAhâŠâ You softly groaned, feeling the sting as the rubbing alcohol made contact with your open wound.
Tara gave you an apologetic look, âItâll be done soon.âÂ
âAnd when that's done?â
âWhat do you mean?â Tara asked with a slightly raised eyebrow.
âAfter this, how about we do something?â
She lightly shook her head with a smile before replying. âAnd Sam comes home to an empty apartment? Yeah, no.â
âIâll get you home in time before Sam is,â you reassure her.Â
âYouâre forgetting Samâs a police captain,â Taraâs body betrays her as she melts into your touch, feeling your hand gently sneak up her arm.
âUnless she can track my web-shooters, I think weâre good.â
âI donât knowâŠâ she looks down, averting her attention to one of your other cuts sheâs tending too.
You left hand lifts her head, her chin resting on your knuckles.
âCome onâŠâÂ
Your foreheads meet and the towel in her hand is long forgotten. You brush your thumb against her bottom lip, you both slightly lean in until your lips are only centimeters apart.Â
âEasy bug girlâŠâ You heard her whisper.
âWhatâd you just call me?â You asked as you both lightly laugh, faces never pulling from each other.Â
âLet's get out of here,â you said as you comedically shook your head around, causing Tara to giggle. âJust for a minute, come on.â
Your noses rubbed together as Tara leaned into you.Â
âNo..â
âYeah..â
âNoo..â
âYes.â
âNo.â
âYes.â
âNooooâŠâ She hated how much she wanted to say yes to you.
âYesss,â your smile never falters through this yes and no battle. You looked at how Tara looked away for a moment before looking back at you with a smile she was visibly fighting and in that moment you knew you won.
â...I better be home before Sam is.âÂ
â
When you land back on Taraâs fire escape, sheâs clinging onto you for dear life while her face's buried in your chest. You smile down at her as you tell her, âWeâre back by the way,â resisting the urge to place a kiss on her head.
âYeahâyeah I knew that,â she replied, slowly pulling away from you.
You canât help but chuckle at her shooken state. âOh, you think this is funny? We were so high upâa drop that high is deadly, Y/N.â
âYou think Iâd drop ya?âÂ
âNo, causeâ then Sam would bury you alive.â
âSpeaking of Sam,â youâre both fully in the room now as you look at her bedroom door and then back at Tara, âLooks like sheâs not hereâŠâ
âY/NâŠâ
âTaraâŠâ
âI already let you swing me around while a billion feet in the air; youâre still needy for my attention?â She teased, slightly tilting her head.
âWhat, you donât wanna hang out with me?â You teased back.
Youâre now directly in front of her, Taraâs legs hit the back of the bed and you can feel her breath on yours. Your hands end up on her hips and her left hand lightly cups your jaw.
In a husky voice you begin, âTara, you have no ideaâ"Â
Suddenly the front door can be heard opening, the various locks twisting and turning. You and Tara looked at each other before Tara shoved you under the bed. Footsteps came closer and closer until Sam opened the door to find her sister sitting at her desk, headphones in, and pen in hand.
Tara turned to look at the door, pulling out her headphones when she made eye contact with Sam. âOh, hey Sam. I was just finishing up this paper,â Tara said innocently, giving the paper a single tap with her pen.
Sam slightly nodded, looking aroundâTara noticed this. âDid you need something?â Tara asked the older Carpenter.
âUh, noâno, I just thought I heard something. Anyways,â Sam slightly shook her head, âgot you that ice cream. Itâs in the freezer when you want it.â
âThanks, Sam. Love you,â Tara responded. âLove you too,â Sam said back with a smile before leaving the room but not without taking one more scan of the room.
You waited another minute before crawling out from under her bed.Â
âThat was a close one, bug girl.â
âIs that gonna be a permanent nickname?â
âYou bet it is, bug girl."
You playfully rolled your eyes, a smile grazing your face when you see her dimples show. "You're lucky you're cute," you tell her.
"Oh? Would you rather me call you my savior?" Tara jokingly batted her eyelashes at you.
You bit lip in thought. "It's got a ring to it..."
"Yeah, no. 'Think I'm sticking with bug girl for now."
"Worth a shot," you shrugged before walking over to her,"Now...where were we?"
"You were leavingâ"
"Mmm, no. That' not what I recall."
Before Tara could respond, you began placing kisses that travled to her jaw then neck, making her knees grow weak as you slowly lead her to the bed until her back softly hit the mattress.
You hovered above her while she gratefully accepted your touch, holding onto your biceps while you continued to kiss her.
"Y/N, my sister's right outside. And if you've forgotten; she has a warrant out for your 'wall crawling vigilante ass'âher words, not mine," Tara said, breath hitching as you continued to kiss her neck.
You stopped mid kiss, looking around the room then slightly frowned, furrowing your eyebrows as you looked back at her. "Is she here in the room with us...? Cause I don't see her."
"Y/N..."
"Tara..."
Tara let out a light sigh, raising one of her hands to cup your jaw. "Five. Minutes." She told you, holding your jaw with a gentle yet firm grip.
"Yes ma'am."

Your test paper gets put on your desk, your teacher murmuring a small, âI expected better, Y/N.â
There was a 65% circled in red and it made you sick to your stomach, you had never gotten a low score before, especially in potions. You knew your concoctions and effects, you swear you had mixed everything perfectly. You groan in frustration, cursing to yourself.
Your hand scrunches, breathing in deeply as you ruffle your hair, now hearing the voice of the person you would rather befriend a frog with and use them first as a sacrifice for a blood sucking demon.Â
âHow can someone fail a potions exam? You managed to get first place for being the biggest dweeb, messing up the easiest class.â Jenna slightly smirks, teasingly as she approaches you and whispers sharply in your ear, your eyes glaring at her. âItâs impressive you didnât notice a small switch of potions. All I did was switch the labels of the potions which had the same color and you didnât even notice.â
Of course she switched up the potions to set you up for failing, âYou know how important this is to me.â
âAw.. Iâm so sorry Y/N,â she mocks, âWhat a pity.â She pouts, âI donât care.â
You want to smack her in the face, maybe throw that explosive potion you made to melt off her face, but you donât. At this point youâre thinking of something to get her back, packing your spell books.
âI swear she wonât get off my shoulders, I havenât done a single damn thing to Ortega.â
Emma laughs, nudging you, âMaybe she just likes teasing someone sweet like you.â
An annoyed exhale leaves your lips, not knowing what she meant by that, âWell she better stop it,â you grab your broom stick.Â
Your friend thinks a little, âJust put a small spell on her broomstick! Nothing, you know, to make her hurt, just maybe throw her off balance.â
That interests you, you're trying to think of a sparkle you could just add onto hers. You notice she hasnât gone to class yet and clearly you can see the large stick hidden between her name. As you approach, your fingers touch the stick, feeling the way your body immediately focuses, then you pull your finger away to go back to Emma. You feel like you shouldnât, but you donât feel a single ounce of guilt as a smirk forms when you reach her.
âCome on,â you urge, taking Emmaâs hand as you make your way outside with your broom sticks.Â
You use your right hand, grabbing it forward as Mrs. Hooch stays on the side, watching. Youâve all gotten the hang of it either way, itâs rare for some people to fall.
âUp!â Emma and you say in unison, seeing your sticks fly up as you smile at each other and hop on, ready for a flight.
You giggle, feeling yourself ascend.Â
âY/L/N,â You hear Jennaâs voice behind you, making your figure turn to face her. You see her stiffen.Â
Emma gives you a look, cunning.Â
âOrtega,â you greet, not so politely, but not rude nonetheless.Â
âIâd challenge you to a racing match, but I do know that your ass is scared that Iâll beat and outrun you in seconds.â
You give out a snarky laugh, âI highly doubt you could even reach me by the time I ascend. Iâm better at you than flying, we both know that.â
Jenna does know that, sort of. And she doesnât want you to prove it, not during flight class while everyone is watching.
âUnless youâve changed your mind and donât want to challenge me, niñita,â you respond again, seeing the way Jenna was thinking.
âThen I challenge you,â
âAnd I accept.â
Emma nudges you, you hear her whisper in your ear, âWell, sheâd probably complain, you did sort of spell her broom and sheâd notice as soon as sheâd get on.â
A grin forms on your lips, tearing your eyes from the tiny Jenna, âWell, I spelled it so that if Jenna were to try anything, cause thatâs the bitch she is, the spell would take effect. Iâm not entirely making myself win at all. I know for a fact sheâd try to make me loose, she doesnât want to lose at all, well at least to me. I know her long enough to know sheâd put a spell to make me lose balance, Em.â
You see Hooch in the corner of your eye, âPlus, Hooch is watching everything, and because I spelled her broom before hand, nothing will happen until she aims some spell at me. Hooch will see that, or at least a little sparkle and chant of words. But she wonât see mine, since I spelled it before, and sheâll just think Jenna lost her balance trying to spell me.â
Emma looks at you, not knowing if you should go on.
âEm! Seriously, Jenna has been making me miserable this year, and I havenât done anything. This is just a playful harmless thing. Itâs the least I can do. I couldâve spawned a rat in her dorm that follows her everywhere!â
âGo, I sort of want to see her fall.â
The grin that disappeared forms again, winking at her as you hop back on your broom.
Then you two are off.
-
You rush through the field, feeling the wind blow through your hair. You loved feeling that cool breeze, itâs unreal, flying is your favorite thing to do.
Jennas not far behind, but far enough to know that youâll win.Â
She groans to herself, watching your pretty, she meant nasty figure speed ahead.
The brunetteâs eyes narrow, she wasnât going to let you win without a fight, she focuses on your broom, sheâs close enough to do something.Â
The wind is making your hair go crazy, but in a good way. Everyone is waiting their turn from below, watching you race through the course. Fast enough to feel their hair blow from your swiftness.
An exhale pasts her lips, you can see her trying to come closer, or almost urging you to slow down. But you donât, of course you wonât. You speed faster, dodging an incoming tree and turning a corner.
Jenna feels blood rushing through her ears, murmuring something under her breath as she gets ready to swish through you and laugh.
She begins the spell, feeling her fingertips slightly tingle. But as soon as sheâs about to shoot a spark, her hands let go and she sees the blue flying spark stumble towards you. Instead of it hitting your broom and making it shake, your hair flies through the wind and it shoots back at her.Â
Jenna yelps, feeling the way her broom starts to shake.
Emma giggles from the sidelines, as soon as you pass the blondeâs figure, you send her a thumbs up and a knowing wink.
God finally.
The brunette loses her balance, feeling the broom shake left and right, sheâs clinging onto it tightly, smacks her head on loose branches. She feels herself slow down to regain a steady pace, but as she speeds up again, youâre already gone, swerving a corner.
-
The tiny brunette grumbles from the benches, watching you smile and jump up and down.Â
âImpressive play out there, Y/N. You just might be our best flier out there, keep your swift performance and youâll be on for Quidditch.â
You already knew youâd win, even if Jenna hit your broom with her spell. Youâve won every time racing against the class.
You approach her, giving her a half-hearted smile, youâd take it as a smirk.
âWell, someone tried to cheat.â
You hear her huff, and it makes you giggle, you brush off the stick that is stuck in her hair.
-
âI regret doing that, Em, that tiny tiny 3 foot 1 foot cockroach is making me fall into her traps,â you murmur, stomping your foot.
âAt least you got a taste of revenge, Y/N.âÂ
âI guess so,â you say, sinking into your seat, you feel yourself begin to find her playful and harmless banters to be stressful by every joke and scandal that girl plays.
-
As Quidditch season approaches, Jenna swipes her hair to the side, tying it up as you watch her with narrow eyes. Itâs just a regular racing match this time. No ball. Just two talented people against each other.
Well, one more talented than the other, you think to yourself
Hooch brings you two together, in which you stare each other down, your gaze not faltering on each other.
âGoodluck, I wish you two a fair match.â
You two shake hands, though you both wonât admit it was a genuine one. You give Jenna a final glare before gazing back at the field, focusing.Â
âReady?â Hooch says, you donât respond, just a subtle nod.
âAnd.. Up!â
You and Jenna shout at your brooms.
âUp!â you command, seeing your favorite item fly up, you jump on it.
Then you both swing off.
Again, not long after, does Hooch see the way your practicing and after school matches with friends are working well. Youâre much farther than Jenna is, and again, itâs like no other match. But this time Jenna isnât going to let you win again.
She growls, casting spells onto your broom and immediately, you feel your broom slow down.
âWhat the hell.â You mutter to yourself, you dive down. But it seems like your broom isnât listening.
Itâs swishing up and down, left to right, and you steady yourself, but youâre shaking.
You're swinging back and forth and you're losing control, you canât make your broom stop. Itâs not like just a shake of your broom and you lose balance before catching yourself, this time itâs worse. Your broom isnât listening.
You scream to yourself, not too loud. But Mrs. Hooch can see the way Jenna is catching up, she knows Jenna did something, but itâs not looking good. Sure playful banters were okay.Â
But instead of dodging a tree, you smack your head straight into the leafiness, feeling the thorns of the leaves sink and cut beneath your eye. Jenna swishes through you, not looking back. The pain immediately comes through, harsh stings roaring through your skin. You cry out, completely losing balance on your broom, crashing into the tree harshly and feeling your head bang into the wood.Â
Jenna still hasnât noticed the damage sheâs caused.
You feel yourself fall.
Farther and farther.
Till your body crashes down on the grassy field, your bones from the fall arenât helping. You hear the way they crack. And then you feel warm blood trickling down your forehead and down from the cut on your eye. You whimper.
Black spots invade your vision and you feel carsick. But you know youâre not in a car.
Your eyes flutter, making a soft groan as Emma approaches you. You can barely see her worried face but you know sheâs scared.
âY/N, can you hear me?â She says, itâs muffled. You donât respond, her figure is blurry, you can barely see her blue eyes.
Before you can even think of a response, your eyes shut.
And as Jenna reaches the finish line, she just turns around, to notice you at least tens of feet below from her, collapsed on the ground and curled up. She canât help but feel a gasp fall from her lips, diving down and getting off her broom stick.
She didnât mean for it to get this chaotic, she was just hoping youâd crash into a branch and get all angry and fussy. Not get hurt. As she approaches closer, she sees blood trickling down your face as your chest heaves up and down. Emma looks at you, worriedly as everyone surrounds you two.
Jenna feels something that she doesnât want to admit, she feels guilty for hurting you. You had barely done anything to her, but sheâs messed with you countless times, youâve gotten in trouble for it.
And you never ratted her out. The one time you decide to get her back, sheâs taken things too far.
âGod,â she murmurs, her voice betraying her as she pushes through the crowds of people, âIs she okay?â
The way her friend turns to her, your best friend looks like sheâs about to explode, âDoes she look okay? DOES SHE LOOK OKAY JENNA? What the hell were you thinking?â the blonde says the last part half aloud, where only Ortega can hear.
âI didnât think sheâd get hurt!â Jenna retorts, kneeling down and putting her hesitant hand over your chest, feeling the way it was beating quickly, chest going up and down, up down.
Immediately nurses come and drag you out, Emma following you as they take you to the infirmary.Â
Jenna feels herself following too, until Hooch catches up with her.
âOrtega!â Her voice is loud, screeching as she pulls Jenna off to the side, âwhat on earth do you think you were doing? Youâve gotten Y/N seriously hurt because of a stupid practice match! Donât think I didnât catch the lame spell youâve cast.â her eyes are wild, angry, âYou know we donât allow spells on the battlefield, I know some of Hogwarts students have broken it, but itâs never been so severe, youâve hurt her tremendously. Sheâs bleeding, and I think sheâll suffer some sprains.â
Jenna nods, she understands. Sort of. She wants to understand, she knows what she did was bad. Hooch takes a deep breath, âIâm disappointed with you.â
âUnfortunately, I donât know if Y/N will heal in three months, sheâs been our best and fastest player, with quick decisions and speedy moves. She might have to sit out on Quidditch, I was looking forward to taking the trophy this season. And I would disqualify you, send you to detention after school everyday till she properly heals,â Hooch takes a deep breath, âBut you have to be one of our players because you have the ability to. That doesnât mean that you wonât get detention. Iâll even ask Dumbledore to exclude you from house games.
God, Jenna didnât mean to make you be kicked out this season. She knew how much you wanted it. She canât help but feel guilty.
Hoochâs voice once again speaks up, âAnd I expect you to apologize and pay her a visit. You two have never gotten along, but I know you both care about each other. Even if itâs slight.â
A soft nod leaves her, her eyes lingering on your small figure that is now being taken to surgery. Maybe sheâll slow down with the pranks.
-
As soon as visitors are allowed in, Jenna begins to stand up and approach your door.
âOrtega, what the hell do you think youâre doing? Donât open that door,â itâs Emma's voice, but this time she sounds much more angry. Unlike the voice the brunette is used to hearing.
The way Jenna stands there, Emma narrows her eyes, âYouâve already hurt her, what more can you need? Unplug the oxygen tank and start laughing your stubborn ass up? I donât think so.âÂ
She was taken by surprise, the fact that both you and Emma have gotten used to her tricks, she feels herself biting her lip.
âN-no.. No, not anything like that. I just wanted to apologize. I know my tricks have gone a bit farther than expected.â
Emma approaches her, pressing her finger to Jennaâs chest, âYouâve hurt her more than enough, and I can see it. Sheâs done nothing to you! Nothing!â your best friend growls, and Jenna backs up.
âYou just donât understand how much youâve pressured her! Because youâre too busy standing there like the spoiled person you are on your banters.â
Jenna smacks her hands off, raising both of her hands to show sheâs âsurrendering,â âI know, I know Em! Just let me apologize.â
âNot when sheâs just about to wake up, you wouldnât want the least expected person who hurt you to show up as soon as you wake up. Give her time,â the blonde grumbles, shushing her back to her seat as she enters your room. Jenna stands up again, noticing you're still unconscious.
Emma can feel her presence, and decides not to turn back as she sits on the chair next to you. Your face lost its color. None of the pink shade that tinted your cheeks when Jenna teased you. The pink shade that she wanted to see was gone, replaced by a pale, tired face, sound asleep.Â
There were cuts all over you, she saw some bruises and there was a big bandage wrapped around your right cheek. She also saw a deep cut that was gauzed up in your arm. She winced. A few broken bones maybe.
She didnât know it was this bad. The only noise was Emmaâs sniffles, and the small beep of your heartbeatâs monitor. Jenna sighs, scooting closer and hesitantly bringing her hand close to your face. She felt like if she were to touch you, you would turn into dust.Â
Her hand gently traces your fast, your nose slightly twitches, but she knows youâre too weak to move or wake up. Then she brushes through your hair, itâs weird beginning to see all the times sheâs treated you wrongly as something she shouldnât have done. Each trick got worse than the other, more risky of being harmed. And now look at you, all broken and bruised.
I didnât mean it, Jenna thinks, looking down at your tiny figure.
I really didnât mean it.
-
Your eyes flutter closed, and immediately you close them again, groaning from the whitest most lightest light youâve ever encountered, covering yourself with a blanket. As soon as you move, you moan softly in pain, feeling pain roar through your body.
âStay still,â you hear a familiar voice say, you canât lend your finger on it. It sounds pretty, and before you can process it your brain switches that thought off. Itâs your annoying rival that casted a spell that got you here in the first place. Jenna stupid Ortega.
You grunt, looking up at her, you feel bandages around you, avoiding contact with the brunette.
âEmma should be back soon, she was getting some flowers for you.â
âGood, then you can leave.â
Harsh.
You hear the way Jenna sighs, and you shake it off, turning slightly so you can face the entertaining wall instead of her.
âLook Y/N, Iâm sorry.â
..
âPlease, canât you see Iâm apologizing?â
âNo, Jenna. You knew I didnât like these things you did to me before. And you decide to apologize now? Do you think itâs going to make me forgive you just like that?â You say, turning back at her, a storm brews behind your eyes.
âI canât participate in the one thing I was looking forward to this season! Just because you put this spell that you knew could harm me badly! You knew I wanted to be in Quidditch!â Jenna winces at your increasing voice.
âYou couldâve been on the team too! Itâs not just one of us! But you got your actions in the way before you could even think! And now you want to apologize?â It's loud, your voice begins to falter a little. Your shoulders untense, and Jenna can hear the monitor of your heart increase by four times, she shushes you, pulling you onto your back.
âStop,â she says, her voice is too soft for your liking, you canât think. Too much is going on in your mind, âPlease.â
âGet out Jenna.â
âW-what? You donât understand.. Iâm trying to-â
âJenna, get the hell out!â You snap, your eyes filled to the max with unshed tears.
You stay silent, before cracking out a tiny, âPlease.â
And like that, Jenna walks out of the room, murmuring an âIâm sorry.â
Just this time, she really wanted you to know that she meant it.
-
Itâs been a month, and by now your arm was barely healing, and there was a stupid ugly mark of a cut on your face. The pain was harsh, if your arm didnât heal by the time Quidditch began, all your practice and effort would flush down the drain. It scared you.
As bad as the pain got, your mark would probably never fade, there would always be a purple cut marked under your eye. Even once itâs completely healed, ones that meet you will notice your cut, in a lighter shade than your actual skin tone. It made you cry every night, silently.Â
It was stupid to cry over, your deep bruises werenât even close to healing. Every time you would accidentally press into it, youâd shriek in pain. You felt insecure of yourself. It didnât feel good, every time youâd look at yourself in the mirror there would be your healing cuts scarred over your body.Â
âIt looks s-so ugly..â You hiccup, looking at yourself in the mirror, Emma by your side as she shakes her head, âNonsense, itâs okay.â
âIt might never go away.âÂ
âAnd thatâs okay, when you're older, youâll find it silly, I promise. Itâs a reminder of being here, and to remind you that competition is less superior when it comes to safety.â
You canât help but feel yourself shrink, watching the scar on your face haunt you.
-
Jenna sees you in the hallways, you're in half her classes. But every single time she looks at you, youâre never looking her way. Not like before. Not when exam scores are passed out during Snape or McGonagall when you usually turn around and she waves her high score in the air, but you always wave yours back, grinning happily when you got one percent higher than her. She found you annoying, but now she feels like sheâs taken you for granted. You were the one who taught her how to properly care for her plant in Herbology, although most of the time sheâs retained information from the random songs and joking nerdy remarks.Â
Jenna hated sitting next to you in that class, she loved teasing you and making you explode from frustration. She hated the way you looked at her and had the ability to somehow use some Hogwarts nonsense to make her think back at your smile.Â
It was something you did to her, it couldnât have been herself, sheâd never be thinking of your smile or you in general. You mustâve casted a spell on her.
Yet she remembers that sheâs thinking about you right now.Â
Anyways, she hated the way you smirked at her and kept kicking your feet to hers, then growing some mushroom on her damn shoe.
âWhat the fuck Y/N? Why is there a green toadstool on my fucking foot?â She says, angrily as you laugh and fall out of your seat. She tries shaking off the small mushroom with her foot, but then it makes it grow even bigger.
And by the end of the day there is a 20 foot mushroom on her shoe, shading her as she walks home, heading straight for the knife to cut it off.Â
The thought made her smile a bit. She didnât want to admit it, she didnât know how you did it. Or maybe when she kept tapping her pen to purposely annoy you, then when you snapped, light blue sparkles flew out of your mouth and made your voice sound wonky.
Now, you barely looked at her. For the entirety of when you were gone, you had to catch up. She felt a little relieved, you could finally talk to her by asking for notes. Didnât want to admit the pit in her chest when you asked the person behind you.
Iâm sorry, Jenna thinks, she wants to scream at you and apologize until you forgive her.
You ignored her, and she knew she deserved it. She treated you so wrongly. Sure she knew you never mind those moments she looked back to, but she knew that she grew more and more brave with her pranks, growing less and less cautious of even thinking of your safety and feelings.
She hates seeing that look in your eyes as everyone in Hoochâs class shouts, âUp!â with excitement, and you sit there, alone on the bleachers as you watch.Â
As you watch your whole class fly off, Emma giving you a small, concerned look, and a tight-lipped, forceful smile forms on your lips, assuring you were fine.
She hates the way she can remember the smile leaving your lips as Emma leaves off for the race, then looking down with melancholy traced in your features.
Iâm sorry.
The shorter brunette canât stand the way you look at everyone fly off, knowing that someone that you know wonât be you will probably take your place in Quidditch. She can see it in your eyes, kicking the dirt, hoping that somehow you can kick the pain and broken limbs away.
This time, she canât tear your eyes away from your tiny figure.
Yet she knows that you wonât even look at her, never noticing the sympathetic stares she gives you, replaced with the ones once filled with competition.
-
Emmaâs voice is dull, almost like she doesnât want to talk to Jenna after the incident.
âYouâre seriously asking me to have Y/N talk to you?â she questions, looking at her with suspicion.
âPlease, Em! Itâs been a month, and Iâve been trying to apologize.â
The blonde crosses her arms, trying to defend you, âWell what if she doesnât want to talk to you or apologize?â
âI donât care!â Jenna throws her arms in the air, âI know what I did was wrong and if Iâm being honest, class is getting boring without having her competition and silly remarks behind my back.â
Jenna freezes, what she says kind of sounds weird.
Emma hums, then she turns to Jenna, âSo, what are you saying Jenna?â
âI care about her!â She groans, rubbing her cheeks, âIâm starting to think that Iâve cared about her since I met her but didnât know till my actions got her hurt. I was going to apologize but now Iâm shitting desperate. She wonât get out of my mind and.. I donât know!â
Jenna groans, trying to think of what this was, âI just keep thinking about the things she doesnât do anymore, and itâs sad not having her by my side. I feel guilty. And I need to apologize even more so she can get out of my head! Em, please, I canât get that stupid silly cute smile out of my head. And I canât damn focus knowing that the girl that sits next to me in McGonagall is full on avoiding me!â
She doesnât realize the way sheâs been rambling, she looks at Emma, whose face expression has changed. In some way, sheâs slightly having a grin on her face, âYouâre in love with her.â
âWhat? I donât know! Maybe, I just-I feel bad, and I want to apologize and make it okay again. Itâs just so dull and Iâll.. I donât even fucking know. I just miss her and the way it used to be.â
âYou shouldâve told me that,â your soft voice sing-songs from behind her, making her tense up and turn around.
âY/N,â Jenna stutters.
âJenna,â you mumble, voice slightly breathy.
âI didnât think you were-â she squeals in surprise as you drag her by the arm, panting softly as you drag her into a room, god who knows what Hogwarts classroom this is.
âLook Y/N, Iâm sorry, but why are we in someones-mmph.â You seal her lips with a random spell under your lips and you place your finger to her mouth.Â
You slightly smirk, god she missed it, she looks down at your lips, she rolls her eyes, âApologize to me and Iâll let you do what youâve wanted to do.â You undo your spell, taking off your finger from her mouth as she begins to speak.
âWha?-â
âGo on.â
You were teasing her, and she breathed, âOkay, Iâm sorry. For hurting you, I know I went too far,â she was rambling as she speaks a little faster, âI didnât mean to hurt you, I just felt more brave as much as I teased you and I know I went too far this time. And I promise I didnât try to hurt you, I know how much Quidditch meant to you..â she gulps again, taking a breath. âWhat I did led to a lot of things, and Iâve noticed the way I grew upset when I knew you began to avoid me, and Iâll admit I miss you.â Jenna says the last part hesitantly.
The brunette looked up at you and you were looking at her, hesitant eyes, but almost filled with need? She now noticed the more visible cut on your eye, and you look away, seeing her gaze on the mark you were most insecure on, you cover your face.
âStop that,â Jenna smacks your hands away and it feels like her hesitation swept away, she slowly reached up to cup your cheeks, in which your uncertainty melted. She looks at the mark, it was better than when she saw you unconscious on the floor. Thatâs all that matters. She wants to roll her eyes but now she feels weird when she does that.
âDoes it hurt?â
You shake your head, âJust a little.â
"I'm sorry about Quidditch."
"I'm still angry about that, my arm should heal soon though, before it starts."
.. An awkward silence passes, then you look down at her pink lips.
Jenna hums, then you tug her closer, making a small whine.
âPlease kiss me.â
Jennaâs eyes widen, taking her hands away from your cheeks.
âWhat?â
âPlease,â you plead, your eyes filled with want.
Her eyes flicker from your lips as she cups your cheeks again and brings you to her mouth. As they meet, youâre all small and soft moans, kissing her with need. Hunger. Itâs different. Teasing you doesnât come with words, sheâs teasing you with her mouth, feeling the way you grip onto her.Â
More more more, donât stop.
You taste exactly how Jenna thought you would, but just so much better. So addicting, it makes her mind spin with you. Coca cola and addictive vanilla. It mixes well with the taste of hers, you let her capture your tongue. Itâs feverish, tongue and want combined. She indulges in the way you make a tiny moan as she nibbles your tongue. Your wanting lips push harder to hers, your body pressing against her as you slightly find something to grind against.
Itâs heated and different. She tugs you closer, finding it adorable as you pull away for a tiny breath, then continue, like you donât want to stop feeling her lips on yours. Her hands. Your fingers tugging against her hair.
Long moments after you pull away, you both are panting, your head buried deep into her chest. She rubs your hair.
âI didnât think you were that experienced,â you whisper.
She rolls her eyes, pressing her lips to your forehead, âI didnât think youâd pull me into a room and start begging me to kiss you and make out with you.â
âMm..â
âWell, did my kisses grant your forgiveness for me?
âMaybe.â
âWhat if I give you another round?â
She smirks, seeing the way you lean back into her.
âDeal.â
She presses her lips that just left yours once again, feeling your hands tangle back into her hair.
I think I just had the most terrifying experience ever.
Ending so devastating I had to draw a happy ending for her

Itâs silent on set where Scream is being filmed. Silence wouldâve filled your break room, that would be if you and Jenna werenât damn yelling at each other over the littlest of things.
âYou fucking cheated!â You accuse, pointing your finger at her as you go crazy and throw your Uno cards everywhere.
The tinier girl puts her hands up, putting one to her chest to pretend to be offended, âThe Y/N is accusing me of cheating? When will I clearly won fair and square?â
That throws you off the edge, screaming into a pillow and kicking your feet, then throwing the pillow straight to her head. âI saw you looking at my cards dumbass!â
The atmosphere is chaotic as you two throw pillows at each other, one of them hits Melissa in the nose, âHey!â She goes, throwing a pillow to Mason, which throws it to Jasmine.
Everyone is throwing their pillows at each other, screaming and laughing. Actually, not everyone is screaming, the only ones are you and Jenna.
âI WAS GLANCING AT THE SCENERY.â
âSINCE WHEN WAS THE SCENERY MY CARDS?â You yell, throwing the stuffed animal at her.
Jasmine nudges Melissa, who lets her pillow down and lets her friend whisper in her ear, âWhoâs going to tell them that theyâre flirting?âÂ
A cackle escapes the other actress, âSheâs definitely always thinking Y/N is the beautiful scenery. In which she is, sheâs like the days that have the best sunsets. Sheâs a sweetheart.â
That was true. Although Jenna wonât admit it. You were breathtaking. You were like the movie that everyone wants to watch again for the first time. Whose voice was a gentle lullaby that lulled those into a peaceful rest. A work of art, Jenna would say. A work of art sheâd fucking hate, yet still buy itâs worth for billions of dollars more than they should be.
âOkay FINE! I peeked! I just saw that you had a yellow seven! Thatâs it!â
âExactly!â You say, throwing the stuffed animal up and victory, âNuh uh, you also said half-way through the game as a joke âI bet you have a blue four,â and I had a blue four!â
âFINE, but that was all!â
âWhatever.â
Mason rolls his eyes as he leans back into his chair, throwing a huge stuffed animal and making you collapse and go, âHey!â
âTheyâre gonna get married one day, theyâre like an old married couple,â He states, and everyone that hears agrees, except you two. You two are too caught up with arguing with each other, smacking pillows at each other.
âAsshole.â
Grunt!
âBitch.â
Smack!
âWeirdo!â
âGoofball!â
Plomp!
âSilly!â
âPretty!â
âSweet girl.â
âLovely!â
âGosh, well arenât they oblivious?â Jasmine scoffs, âTheir flirting and don't even know it, theyâll use that as an excuse for another argument again. Melissa watches, amused, and laughing in the background with a cackle. You two are hitting each other with any pillows you can find.

Melissa screams while the members of the cast begin to elevate up the roller coaster.Â
âOh god!â Mason shouts, while you two begin to lift off the floor from the free fall device.
âIf the machine were to break and fall, would we bounce out of our seats or bang our head?â Jenna questions, looking down at her feet that are currently 100 to 150 feet off the ground.
Youâre right next to her, yet you have to shout because of how loud the machine is, âNuh uh! None of that stuff, if the machine were to break, then the starting point wouldnât be as lifted and our feet would probably dislocate.âÂ
âPfft, nonsense,â Jenna rolls her eyes, and you try kicking her but as you reach the top, it slowly begins to stop lifting up.Â
âGuys!â Jasmine yells, looking down at the floor, sheâs still holding her pretzel in her hand. The people below you now look like at least the size of a caterpillar.Â
âItâs kind of tall!â Melissa says, but sheâs giggling.
âNo damn shit!â You say, looking at the floor and preparing for your heart to fly out of your chest, âHold my hand!â Jenna jokes while you roll her eyes at her.
When you stop at the top, the machine makes a loud âTCCHhhHHâ noise, and you are all still.Â
âI DONâT WANNA DIE,â Mikey and Devyn cry, screaming.
âWe havenât even gone down- YET!â Everyone starts screaming as the seats youâre in descends at fast speeds. You all scream, high pitched, wails, singing to get your mind off of whatever. Devyn and Jasmine flutter their eyes and do a peace sign when the camera flashes.Â
You close your eyes, the machine goes back up, then down, youâre screaming, laughing as Masonâs sandal falls out, âNo! My shoe!â
It hits the person operating the roller coaster.
Somehow, your hand finds Jennaâs as you cling onto it, she doesnât let go, giggling with you as you two fall. It was a nice moment, the breeze in your hair with the sunset saying hello. Except you donât know if the moment got better or was ruined because before you can appreciate it, Jasmine screams, louder than she had when everyone dropped.
âMy pretzels!â She screams, falling out of her hand and flying into the air, the cinnamon pretzels falling and smacking you and Jenna in the face as you feel a flash in your face again, you pose just as it clicks.
âI WANNA GO HOME!â Mason wails, âWhere the fuck is my shoe? MY SHOE!â
By the time you reach ground level, everyoneâs hair is ruffled, eyes dazed as your legs shake when you leave the machine.
Youâre still holding hands with Jenna as you almost collapse on each other, you feel dizzy, probably because the machine was damn spinning and a pretzel got smacked into your face.
"You okay?" she asks, looking at your dizzied form.
"Mmhm, are you okay?" you ask, the feeling of throwing up going away.
She nods, letting you cling onto her as she hugs you tight.
"You're so weak," she teases.
"Says the one who screamed more from a pretzel being thrown in her face than the actual ride."
She smacks you, but nonetheless, still holds you tight to her chest.
Mason looks at the floor, and claps, turning happy, âMy sandal!â
Everyone is groaning, Melissa is snorting and looking sick while Devyn and Jasmine shove their hands through the little amount of pretzels left in their bag.
Youâre not surprised when everyone busts out laughing, pointing at the pictures of you on the rollercoaster. The first one, Devyn and Jasmine were making peace signs while somehow being able to do the slightest pose, Masonâs shoe is flying and you can see his mouth wide open with one foot barefoot, Melissa is smiling with cotton candy in her mouth, and you and Jenna are screaming and clinging onto each other.
The next one gets more chaotic, with Jasmine and Devyn looking horrified, the whole picture has pretzels flying and hits Jenna and you square in the head. Yet, the frame only catches Jennaâs face being smacked while youâre posing with your hands and blowing a kiss.
Youâre laughing so hard, everyone is buying the photos, you canât stop laughing as Jenna screams from the horror.
âHow did they only take a picture when the pretzel gets to me?" She groans.

It was a little after sunset, where outside is painted a blue and purple sky.
âTo a long day of maintaining our sanity for todayâs long duration of filming!â Devyn says, raising her drink.
âTo a long day of maintaining our sanity!â Everyone else cheers, you bring your drinks up and clank them with one another before downing it.
You liked it like this. Having parties every Friday with your scream cast. They were your family, most times youâd have sleepovers, play card games, video games, gossip. Silly photos were taken, and these polaroids were always hung on your wall of memories, Melissa holding her puppy while doing a bridge gymnastic pose, risking her skull from literally cracking.
You take the sip of beer in your hands, with a wide smile on your face. Itâs nice knowing you have a group that you can easily fit in, you donât have to think to speak, you can just do it freely.
A few minutes turn into an hour.
Melissa turns to you, pointing at you and smiling, "You're going to be the first one to get wasted, your cheeks are all pink."
"No their not!" You retaliate, a small slur to your words as you lean on the couch for balance.
"Right," Jasmine says, sarcastically as Jack and Mason are screaming at each other.
"Jack no! If you take that one off then the whole tower will fall! We can't lose!" Mason screams, the Jenga tower tilting.
You giggle.
You catch sight of Jenna and you throw your arms up, stumbling to her while slurring her name slightly, "Jennaaaa, where were youu?"
The brunette looks at you, confusion shown in her futures as she looks at your tiny self, looking up at her and tugging at the collar of her shirt. Your eyes sparkle.
"You're seriously already a little drunk?" She questions, amused as you groan and shake your head, "Noo, shut 'p. You're drunk tooo Jennifer. I literally am not drunk, I know waaht m doing."
"Right, right."
"Jennifer, kiss my forehead,"
"If you call me Jennifer one more time I swear to-"
"Jellybean?"
Jenna rolls her eyes, hugging you and kissing your forehead, "Love you," she murmurs.
"I love you tooo."
She sits you down to the couch where you get the sight of Mason, Jack, Melissa, and Liana are battling each other in Jenga.
"I'm not drunk, I just drank a little, I'm perfectly fine," she states. You don't say anything, instead distract yourself with the large jacket draped over her, you tug it, "I'm cold, give me that."
Jenna looks down at you, trying to take off her jacket, "Hey! What if I'm cold too?"
"Can we share?"
Jenna sighs, rolling her eyes, "Come here," you nestle into her as the jacket plays as a blanket.
It's not enough to cover the two of you, so she throws it into her bag and grabs a large blanket and lays it on the floor. The hollers of the Jenga crew grow loud as the tower tumbles over because of Jack.
"I TOLD YOU NOT TO DO THAT ONE IT WAS GOING TO FALL"
"OH YEAH, oops. I forgot." Jack says, putting his hands up in surrender.
The blanket is huge, it can fit at least 4 people.
"Hey Melissa, over here, let's turn into a burrito or something." The taller Latina that's non-occupied looks at you two, seeing the way you're already laying on the blanket, ready to be wrapped up.
You're squished in the middle as Melissa giggles and Jenna begins to roll over and wrap you 3 in the blanket.
"Oh my god," you three roll till the blanket space runs out, now you guys are cuddled, nestling into each other.
Cozy for sure, all of their arms are wrapped around you and each other as you close your eyes, getting comfortable.
"I hate you two," Jenna murmurs, both you and Melissa go "me too" before you two are silent.
"No you don't," you slur, "You love us."
"I don't, I love you guys," she giggles, and you and Melissa smile, hugging each other and letting the sound of music from the party echoing in your ears.
