I just found a post on twitter saying they waited 2 years for season 3 of Umbrella Academy to come out and I immediately called bull but nearly cried when I saw that season 2 released in 2019.
I watched the entire season in 2 days and now have nothing to watch.
Spoilers below
Hot take, but I did not like Natalie OR Travis when I first watched the show.
First introduction to teen Natalie, I liked her, thought she was pretty cool. First introduction to adult Natalie, didn't really have an opinion - didn't know too much about her besides that she's in rehab.
Then the wilderness happens. Travis is an incredibly dislikeable character. He's sexist, he's insulting and degrading, especially towards Natalie. So immediately, I hated him, and I hated Natalie, because where's the self respect? This guy constantly insults you and degrades you, even pointed a fucking gun at you, but you STILL like him? I don't give a shit if he's mourning, because apparently, he can say whatever he fucking wants to you, but when you call him a nickname he doesn't like, that gives him the audacity to literally aim a loaded rifle at you?
And adult Natalie's entire motive is finding Travis and then finding out what happens to Travis. Her entire story is revolved around finding the adult version of the character who treated her like dogshit. So I didn't care at all about what happened to either of them. When adult Travis died, I wasn't sad - because I didn't care about teen Travis who we know, why should I care about the adult Travis who I haven't even met. And I didn't care when adult Natalie died either, because her entire story was; find her old boyfriend who was a massive piece of shit when he was a teenager, find him dead, find out what happens to him, get with an old classmate, ditch him, almost relapse and then join a cult.
Thankfully, my opinion on both of these characters have changed. For Travis, I don't entirely care about him. I think him being assaulted by the girls is awful, and that he's definitely mentally checked out in season 3. He is SO done with this wilderness bullshit. Especially when he's stuck out there with them. And Natalie, she is the GOAT.
I’ve really gotten back into my Hetalian phase and I’m about to send myself into crippling debt by buying a shit ton of Hetalia stuff online. One of the things I’m buying is a mochi France plush. I bought 11 of them like 2 years ago and I never bought France. Sorry France.
SPOILER WARNING AHEAD
10. Greg
He died off screen and had his head stuck in the fridge. Boring tbh.
9. Laura (Samara Weaving) First death of the movie. Not too bad but not as exciting compared to the rest.
8. Store clerk (don’t know the actor) Everyone already knows he dies, it was in the trailer. Still super cool to see Ghostface shoot a guy though.
7. Jason (Tony Revolori) I thought his death was pretty average, since it was just a few stabs and he technically died off screen, cause of the title card. Only rating him higher than Laura because of Ghostfaces aggressive slash before the title card.
6. Brooks (Thomas Cadrot) Gale’s new boyfriend. Died off screen, only ranked higher because I thought it was funny how quick he got snatched and how he got thrown through the shelves.
5. Quinn (Liana Liberato) This is not based on her fake death! She got shot in the head, similar to how Liv died in Scream (2022). Ranking her higher compared to the others just because of how crazy she looked near the end.
4. Dr Christopher (Henry Czerny) His death was super gross, he got stabbed right through the nose. It was kind of like watching Wes’ death all over again. Still, it was pretty good.
3. Anika (Devyn Nekoda) Mindy’s girlfriend. The entire ladder scene was so nerve wracking. The way Ghostface was shaking the ladder freaked me out so much. Her death was super sad but unique.
2. Detective Bailey (Dermot Mulroney) I loved his death scene! Sam was so quick with her stabs, wherever she could reach. Only ranked him number 2 cause he got stabbed in the eye. Disgusting.
1. Ethan (Jack Champian) Ethan’s death was absolutely jaw dropping (no pun intended). The entire time I was just like :O. Super gross but definitely the most memorable out of all the deaths.
Hope I didn’t miss any deaths.
I’ve made some posts about Duck lives AU’s in the past, but this is different. I’m currently in the middle of writing The Walking Dead Season 1 (no title yet), an AU where Ben is the main protagonist and lives, along with Duck. In the story, I’m currently up to The St John. Dairy.
~Below are more detail about the ideas I have~
I’ve been playing with some ideas for future seasons and episodes, like whose fates remain the same, canon determinant or canon alive characters dying and how they’re character or death affects the storyline.
An idea I would love to use is the Stranger taking both Clementine AND Duck. It’d make sense for the Stranger to try and take both a young girl and a young boy, to replace the son and daughter he lost. Obviously, there are a few nuts and bolts I have to look for before it completely makes sense.
Like Duck’s motive for going with the Stranger. Clementine’s motive is that she believes the Stranger is with her parents. Duck’s motive could be that he wants to play the ‘hero’ in the situation and that he could protect Clementine from any danger if he goes along too. BUT, this means their has to be some sort of change in characters fates for this to work. I’ve decided to make Katjaa get bitten during the raid, but Kenny’s fate I’m still deciding on whether I should kill him off early.
Don’t get me wrong, Kenny is a brilliant, well written and iconic character, but it wouldn’t make any sense to willingly leave the group, knowing that his son is alive. Alternatively, Kenny can take the most selfish route, and leave his son, after the death of his wife being too much for him to handle. This could give Kenny and Duck’s relationship more tension when reuniting in S2, especially with Sarita being in the picture. Duck would originally hate Sarita, believing that she is trying to take his mother’s place, but could reconcile after Sarita helps him with something (like an injury, idk).
Kenny being alive in S2 gave me the idea the fight between Jane and Kenny ending differently, with Jane not being in the fight completely. Ben could be the cause of Sarita’s death, making Kenny hate Ben (since I’ve made Ben having no involvement in the bandits deal). During the fight, Kenny has Ben pinned and tries to stab in him in the throat with a blade. Clementine could originally have the gun, going into a panic attack or freezing in fear, so Duck takes the gun and shoots Kenny himself. This would harden Duck’s childish personality, making him create a brick wall around himself when it comes to strangers or people that try to become close to him.
Also. S4. Lilly captures Duck. She taunts him about Kenny and how he probably died saving Duck, just they (Ben, Clem, Duck) would when it came to protecting AJ. And then Duck just goes,
“I killed him”
*chef kiss*
I've been actively trying to avoid spoilers, but a tiktok clip was just a little too fast for me and it showed me a few seconds of the changes prologue of Until Dawn and even the smallest changes are making me so fucking happy. They finally changed Beth's robotic; "Where's my sister going?" line into one that actually sounds genuinely normal.
Headcanon where James (season 4) and Alex Fairbanks are brothers. In this au, James is not as pacifistic, only resorting to killing walkers to defend himself and Alex. Alex is 15 in this and James is 20 since this sets scene in season 4 and Alex was 7 in the Michonne game, and it’s been about 8 years since in the final season it says Clementine’s 16-17. James and Alex have been wandering for years, using their skills they learnt from the whisperers to move around herds. Alex doesn’t like using the mask a lot and likes to take breaks every now and then to at least eat. Instead of calling them walkers, Alex refers to them as Wendigos. James wasn’t as close to his Grandmother, so he was never told about Wendigos. Similar to Aasim, Alex has written alot of what has happened through out his life, and how much he looks up to James. When they meet Clementine and Aj, and she offers them to stay, Alex gets the biggest smile he’s had in years. Finally, they don’t have to keep walking, they can settle down, just like James said, with people they can trust. James isn’t that trustworthy, but agrees, to make Alex happy.
Happy International Women’s Day from the ladies of TWDG!
Interactions between characters who have zero interaction. Like Emily & Chris or Jessica & Ashley.
Jessica having more screen time instead of being unconscious for half of the game.
Same for Matt, who if he survives the tower falling, is literally just wondering around aimlessly in the mines for half of the game until he reunites with Jess.
Matt potentially making it back to get to the safe zone and having opinions on the whole Mike/Emily/Gun scenario.
Emily and Jessica actually interacting without arguing? Maybe a potential to rekindle friendship? (Cause they're fighting over Mike the sleaze ball, really????)
Maybe more Beth and Hannah scenes? Longer prologue perhaps to actually flesh out relationships. Maybe Matt and Ashley actually have dialogue?
Honestly, if there's just more character/group interactions, I will be satisfied.
