Everybody welcome Cain who is not tamed and insane. He is one of my OCs that I'm working on for my story with my main character Albedo. It's chaotic like him for now of his idea lay out. His inspiration was from Discord for his body idea and a little bit of personality. Cain is a random, kooky, charming, obsessive and predatory. He is the discard of unwanted personalities and emotions that Malefor (my main villain) did not want in physical form. He rules the mid dimension ring I'm working on. He has the body of a longish scaled dragon, long whiskers, elk inspired antler on L side, curved Ram horn on R side, vampire style bat wing on L side, owl wing on R side, an Ox's L back leg, Lion's R back leg, boney werewolf L front leg, lizard man R front leg, longish hairy elf style ears, and two fox tails with scorpion stringers within the tails. Hope y'all enjoy this random update of my journey. I've been writing more than drawing, because that's the area I need to work on the most. 😜

My illustration was to represent The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning and I chose the final boss fight between Spyro and Cynder as the portal in Convexity opens to unleash the spirit of the dark master Malefor back into the world.

This was my first ever physically published art, I poured everything I had into this art and I'm insanely proud of it! Sense of Smell: Turtles have a very good sense of smell. As mutants, the brothers keep this keen ability. Sense of Hearing: Turtles can only hear low frequency sounds. As mutants, the brothers do have a visible ear with a much broader range. Sense of Sight: Turtles have good vision, and can see deeper reds than a human. This allows them to see better in the dark. Sense of Direction: Turtles can sense strong magnetic fields, which lets them determine the cardinal directions. Syndactyly: The phalanges of the turtles are fused together, as well as their carpal bones. This is a side effect of their turtle DNA, as some turtles lack the fully five fingered body plan on all limbs. Thermoregulation: As mutants, the turtles can produce their own body heat while active, but rely on ambient temperature while at rest. They can shiver, but cannot get goosebumps. They cannot sweat, and thus need to cool down via other means or they overheat. Expressions: As mutants, they have far more control over their faces than normal reptiles. Their expressions are very human, made with mammalian muscle groups.

So, there was a line in TMNT’03 when Raph complains about his ribs that got me thinking, isn’t a turtles shell their ribs?

So, I did a little looking into the skeletal structure of turtles and how it might apply to the brothers, particularly the Rise brothers as they’re all different species. Here’s the little chart of common bone and scute patterns, and some speculation on how their reptilian features affects them!

I’ll post my individual skeletal studies after!
