i was studying my medieval art notes and i found the sketch of a tiny boniface
13 – Fawkes ✨
Thank you for the lovely request! 🌟Unfortunately I don’t have much experience with bird anatomy, but Fawkes is a character I always wanted to try to draw!
sorry for not having been posting lately. i have some pieces i'm working on but i'm also using the majority of my free time to work on a university dissertation and for this reason i'm making extremely slow progress on my art ): i hope i will be able to draw regularly again very soon because there are so many concepts i can't wait to put on paper
I'm Italian too, may you share what you wrote with the sketches about Pentheus and Dionysus? I'm curious about your notes
they are for sure lecture notes taken in uni, but they are from two years ago and so i'm not certain about the class they relate to... i see that they mention Pietro Bembo and in the timelapse on my ipad i can read the name of Lionello Venturi in a part that in the final version got covered, so they are very likely notes from a course about the history of art criticism. unfortunately at the moment i do not have the notebook on hand, but this weekend i have to return to my parents' house and there i will see if i manage to find it and to make some decent photos!
question not related to art (yet):
lately i have been reading the dionysiaca by nonnus and just yesterday i have reached the part in which actaeon's myth is told. nonnus makes acteaeon climb a tree in order to spy on artemis, and i wanted to ask - how popular is this element in this myth? because it is very clear that here nonnus intends to draw as many parallels between actaeon and pentheus as possible (as he should) and if i remember correctly in ovid there are no mentions of actaeon climbing a tree. does someone knows any other classical versions in which this element is present?
thank you in advance
