"Invisible String" lyrics: Bold was the waitress on our three-year trip. Getting lunch down by the lakes.
Taylor about her song "The lakes" (2020): "I think THE LAKES sort of sounds like a testament of what I’ve wanted to escape from and where I saw myself escaping. We’d gone to the Lake District in England a couple years ago [...]"
"on our three years trip" (by the lakes) + "a couple of years ago" = connected?!
There's no way Joe+Taylor celebrated their three year anniversary "a couple of years ago" in 2020. (2016 + 3 = 2019. It would have been a year ago.)
Who was pictured at a lake in 2017? (2020 - 3 = 2017)
Taylor+Karlie and two loving swans. ❤️
Full speech about "The lakes" in "Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions". Why does she even have a "cottage backup plan"? 🤔👇
"I think “the lakes” sort of sounds like a testament of what I’ve wanted to escape from and where I saw myself escaping. We’d gone to the Lake District in England a couple years ago — In the 19th century, you had a lot of poets, like William Wordsworth and John Keats would spend a lot of time there. There was a poet district, these artists moved there were kind of heckled for it and made fun of for it as being these eccentrics and these kind of odd artists who decided that they just wanted to live there. I remember when we went, I thought, “Man, I could see this. You live in a cottage and you’ve got wisteria growing up the outside of it. Of course they escaped like that, of course they would do that.” And they had their own community of other artists who had done the same thing. In my career, since I was probably about 20, written about this sort of cottage backup plan that I have. “the lakes” is really talking a lot about relating to people who, hundreds of years ago, had the same exit plan and did it. I went to William Wordsworth’s grave, just sat there and I was like, “Wow, you went and did it, you just did it. You just went away and you kept writing, but you didn’t subscribe to the things that were killing you.” And that’s really the overarching thing that I felt when I was writing folklore is, I may not be able to go to the Lakes right now, or to go anywhere, but I’m going there in my head, and this escape plan is working. I thought [this song] would be the perfect way to slot the last puzzle piece in, right when people least expected it. Because “hoax” as the ending song for the record, I thought was interesting for a couple weeks, but then I wanted to actually come in with the real last song of the record, which is “the lakes”, that’s kind of the overarching theme of the whole album, of trying to escape, having something you wanna protect, trying to protect your own sanity, and saying, “Look, they did this hundreds of years ago. I’m not the first person who’s felt this way, they did this.”
You stand with your hand on my waistline It's a scene, and we're out here in plain sight I can hear them whisper as we pass by It's a bad sign, bad sign
Something happens when everybody finds out See the vultures circling, dark clouds Love's a fragile little flame, it could burn out It could burn out
'Cause they got the cages, they got the boxes And guns They are the hunters, we are the foxes And we run
Baby, I know places we won't be found and They'll be chasing their tails trying to track us down 'Cause I, I know places we can hide I know places
The only Kaylor proof that I need.

It's a perfect day! We reached the BOSS level! 👑
Taylor about Karlie: "victoria's secret supermodel angel woman" Taylor about Phoebe: "boss genius / baby angel face" Karlie about Penni: "BOSS LADY 👑💕"
Is that a coincident, a jealousy game, or an easter egg? 👀

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈
Full Pride Speech 👇
First things first, happy Pride Month, everyone! On this tour, I get to look out into the most stunningly beautiful, brilliant crowds of people who are living their authentic lives. They are loving who they want to love, they are identifying how they identify, and allies who get to support them in and celebrate them in that. It’s the most beautiful experience for me to look out into the crowds on this tour, I’m looking out tonight, I’m seeing so many incredible individuals who are living authentically and beautifully and this is a safe space for you. This is a celebratory space for you and one of the things that makes me feel so prideful is getting to be with you and watching you interact with each other, being so loving and so thoughtful and so caring and so being with you during pride month, getting to sing the words to ‘You Need To Calm Down’ where there are lyrics like “can you just not step on his gown?” or “shade never made anybody less gay”, and you guys are screaming those lyrics in such solidarity, in such support of one another, in such encouraging, beautiful acceptance and peace and safety and I wish that every place was safe and beautiful for people in the lgbtq community, I really wish that. Cause we can’t talk about pride month without talking about pain. Right now, and recently and in the recent years there have been so many harmful pieces of legislation that have put people in the lgbtq community at risk. It’s painful for everyone, every ally, every loved one, every person in these communities and thats why I’m always posting this is when the midterms are, this is when these important key primaries are, cause we can support as much as we want during pride month, but if we’re not doing our research on these elected officials, are they advocates? are they allies? are they protectors of equality? Do I want to vote for them? I love you guys so much. Happy Pride month, I just adore you. I really do.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SPEECH. WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH TAYLOR ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 (x)
gaylor / kaylor threads shouldn't be so long. this is enough evidence.
I agree! 🌼
“being with Karlie is probably the one time when Taylor can feel invisible.”
It’s difficult to parse exactly what attracts Swift to models: I’ve had friends explain it in terms of body-matching (Swift’s finally found her tall, wispy people) or that Kloss, like her, has juggled fame since her early teens. The writer Durga Chew-Bose told me that “being with Karlie is probably the one time when Taylor can feel invisible.” I don’t think any of these explanations is necessarily wrong. But I think there’s something even deeper about Swift’s model affinity, especially to the Kloss-like variety that currently dominate the industry.
In the absence of boys or friend drama, the only thing left to gossip about in Swift's life is her friendship with Karlie Kloss. Photos of them hanging out (and embracing/maybe kissing) on a balcony were quickly transformed into evidence of a relationship. Even the gossip press, which should be sated with the stream of Swift paparazzi and Instagram photos, is on board.
As evidenced by the abundance of “Kaylor” fanfic on Tumblr, there’s a serious audience and appetite for those rumors coming to fruition. But Swift’s popularity ultimately hinges on her image being mom-safe. Perhaps that’s why she can hang out with Lena Dunham but never say a word about Girls or Dunham's memoir, why she distanced herself from Gomez when she went back to Justin Bieber, and why she spends more of her time with Kloss, who spends her time promoting her charitable vegan cookie line for Momofuku, than Cara Delevingne, a model in the bad-girl Kate Moss tradition who parties with Rihanna and dates Michelle Rodriguez. The ERAS TOUR clock looks similar to the Musée d'Orsay clock. The Musée d'Orsay is Karlie's favorite museum in Paris. This is of course just a coincidence. (Karlie + Levi: March 10, 2022)
