Memorial Day 2015

On this Memorial Day, it has been brought to my attention, several times in fact, that this is a day to honor those who died while serving in the country’s armed forces. Just a few moments ago, this fact, of which I was supposedly unaware of, was even pointed out to me on the local news on TV. So hey, all you Vets who served in this country’s armed forces and are still living, pipe down, this ain’t your day. Save your comments, gripes and complaints for Veterans Day. That is your day. We don’t want to hear from you any other time, except for that day. That is your day. Perhaps this would be a good time to let some others know when their approved time slot is, so here goes: - Hey, Irish people, St. Patrick's Day is your day, so shut up till then. - Hey, Black Americans, Martin Luther King Day is yours, stifle it until January. - Patriots, July 4th is your day, so unless it is July 4th, shut up. Please shut up. - Mom, if it ain’t May then put a sock in it. - Dad, is it June? No? Then quiet. Barbeque something. - Warlocks and Wiccans, don’t want to hear from you until Halloween. - Christians, shut the f**k up until December 25th. - Working 2 minimum wage jobs, and still can’t pay the bills? Don’t wanna hear it, it ain’t Labor Day. So remember, unless it is your day, people don’t want to hear about your problems. Vets, missing a leg or arm or two? Blind, cripple, or just rendered unable to cope from PTSD? That's not good enough. Unless you are dead, SHUT UP!!!! Obviously the people that you fought for and put your life on the line for to protect don’t care, unless it is Veterans Day. And even then, they probably don’t. Which should be obvious to you by their attempts to silence you by pointing out that this isn’t really your day. It isn’t really your day. No. Bad Vet, bad. Please don’t remind us.
