Remus Lupin x Reader
Angst, comfort
summary: After a difficult visit with her parents, a struggling student at Hogwarts finds solace and comfort in Remus Lupin, who reminds her that she is more than enough just as she is.
AN: Iâm struggling rn so I wrote this initially picturing Professor Lupin but I realised it didnât really make sense so this is during the marauders era. But to heck with it, you can imagine whoever youâd like.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
It was one of those nights when everything felt too heavy. You had used the Floo powder to sneak out of Hogwarts to see your parents, hoping for some reassurance or a little warmth to ease the ache in your chest. But instead, youâd been met with harsh words, criticisms that dug deep into your skin. As you stepped out of the fireplace back into your dorm, your heart felt heavier than ever.
The dormitory was empty. Everyone else was still out enjoying the evening, but you had slipped away, too drained to pretend that you were fine. You threw yourself onto your bed, the thick blankets absorbing the weight of your exhaustion as you buried your face into the pillows. The tears came fast, and before long, your sobs were muffled by the comforter as you tried desperately to be quiet, your heart breaking in silence.
You felt so small. So misunderstood. You curled into yourself, whispering to no one in particular, a prayer, a plea, anything to make the hopelessness go away. "Why do they never understand? Why is it so hard to just be good enough?" Your voice cracked, barely audible over the lump in your throat. "Iâm trying... Iâm trying so hard, but I feel so lost."
A soft creak echoed through the quiet room, the dorm door opening. You quickly pulled the covers tighter over your head, not wanting anyone to see you like this. Not like this.
âY/N?â A familiar, gentle voice called out, making your heart skip. You stayed still, your breath catching as you realized it was Remus.
âY/N,â he said again, softer this time, the bed dipping slightly as he sat on the edge. âI know youâre there. I can hear you.â
You wanted to shrink further into the blankets, but his voice was so calm, so understanding, that it was almost impossible to hide. Slowly, you let out a shaky breath but stayed silent, hoping he wouldnât push.
âI⊠I heard you come in,â he said, his tone gentle, yet tinged with concern. âYou didnât look okay. I justâ I wanted to check on you.â
You were so still, unsure if you could speak without breaking all over again. But then Remus shifted slightly closer, his hand resting lightly on the blanket covering you. He didnât pull it away or force you to come out from under it, just left it there as a quiet reassurance.
âI donât know what happened,â he murmured softly, âbut you donât have to go through it alone. You donât have to hide.â
A fresh wave of tears stung your eyes, but something in the warmth of his voice made it easier to breathe. Slowly, cautiously, you pulled the blanket down just enough to peek at him. His face was soft, filled with worry but also with so much kindness that it almost made you want to cry again.
âI feel like Iâm failing,â you whispered, your voice barely there, your words shaky. âMy parentsâ they donât understand. Iâm trying, Remus, I really am, but it feels like no matter what I do, itâs never enough. I just⊠I just want to be good enough.â
His brow furrowed with a deep empathy, and before you could retreat back into the safety of your covers, Remus shifted closer, his hand reaching out to gently brush a tear from your cheek.
âYou are enough,â he said firmly, his voice steady, filled with conviction. âYou donât have to prove that to anyone, not even to yourself. I see you every dayâ how hard you work, how much you care. Itâs not about being perfect or meeting anyoneâs expectations. Itâs about being you. And thatâs more than enough.â
You sniffled, your breath hitching as you tried to steady yourself, his words sinking in but still fighting against the overwhelming doubt swirling inside you.
âIâm just⊠so tired, Remus,â you admitted, voice cracking. âI feel like I canât keep up with everything.â
His expression softened even more, and without a word, he slid closer, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. The warmth of his embrace was immediate, grounding you in a way that made the weight in your chest ease just a little.
âYou donât have to do it all alone,â he murmured, his cheek resting gently against your hair as you leaned into him. âIâm here. Iâll always be here.â
For the first time that night, you let yourself believe it. Maybe you didnât have to carry it all on your own. Maybe, just maybe, there was a place in the world where you could be yourselfâ flaws and allâ and it would be enough.
And for now, wrapped in Remusâs arms, you felt like that place was right here.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
AN: to anyone reading this in need of comfort, I hope you find your solace. Youâre not alone and youâre more than enough. Youâre always free to rantâ I always make time to listen. I hope this helps you feel better, so enjoy.
Encanto x reader
fluff, comfort
Summary: On a lonely New Yearâs Eve, the Madrigals bring warmth and joy, but itâs Camiloâs heartfelt care that makes her truly believe in love again.
AN: Happy new year, happy holidays! Also, this is sappy. Be warned... but I'll make sappy any time I need it, and I needed it-- so I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did writing this.
story under the cut
The night air was crisp, a perfect blend of cool breeze and the lingering warmth of the day. From your perch on the balcony, the world below sparkled with the chaos of New Yearâs Eve celebrations. In the Encanto, every home glowed with lights and laughter, the air heavy with the scent of roasted arepas and sweet empanadas. The Madrigalsâ Casita, as always, stood out like a beacon of magic and life, bursting with energy. Yet here you were, leaning on the cold wrought-iron railing, a quiet observer in a sea of joy.
From your vantage point, you could see families giggling as they ducked under tables to eat their twelve grapes, one for each wish. Couples leaned into each other, their faces lit by the promise of midnight fireworks. And you? You were alone. No grapes, no kisses, just the sharp sting of solitude wrapped in a world full of celebration.
A soft sigh escaped your lips, the sound quickly carried away by the distant hum of music and chatter. It wasnât that you werenât happy for themâthe Madrigals, the villagers, everyoneâbut it was hard not to feel the weight of loneliness pressing on your chest. You wrapped your arms tighter around yourself, wishing, just for a moment, that someone would notice the quiet shadow you cast.
And then, like magicâor perhaps because it was the Encantoâthey did.
âWhat are you doing out here, all by yourself?â Mirabelâs voice rang out, soft yet inquisitive, as she leaned against the balcony doorframe. Her round glasses glinted in the dim light, and her wide smile carried an infectious warmth.
You turned, startled, only to see her stepping closer, holding out a small cup of warm chocolate. âYou canât spend New Yearâs like this,â she said gently. âCome on, at least have some hot chocolate with me.â
A bit later, Luisa found you sitting by yourself in a quiet corner of the Casita. She didnât say muchâshe didnât need to. Instead, she handed you a heavy woolen blanket, freshly warmed from the hearth, and sat nearby, her calm presence a silent reassurance that you werenât alone.
Isabela, ever the perfectionist, passed by next, pausing to tuck a newly conjured flower into your hair. âThere,â she said with a soft smile. âYouâre part of the party now.â Her graceful departure left the faint scent of jasmine in the air, a little gift that lingered with you.
Later, Antonio bounded over, his arms wrapped around a cheerful toucan that squawked happily in your direction. âThe animals said you looked sad,â he said with wide-eyed sincerity. âBut you donât have to be! They like you.â He placed the toucan on your shoulder, and for a moment, the birdâs antics pulled a genuine laugh from your lips.
Pepaâs voice carried through the bustling crowd as she handed you a small plate of twelve grapes. âEat them,â she insisted, her eyes kind but firm. âOne for every wish. And donât forget to make them count!â
Julietaâs warmth came last but not least, as she gently pressed an arepa into your hands. âFood makes everything better,â she said, her tone motherly and soothing. âYouâll see.â
By the time Camilo arrived, the night was already alight with fireworks, laughter, and cheer. He had just rushed back from the village after a long day of work, his usual playful smirk replaced by a look of earnest concern. He found you leaning against a pillar near the edge of the balcony, the glow of fireworks reflecting in your eyes.
âThere you are,â he said, slightly breathless but with a relieved grin. âIâve been looking everywhere for you.â
You blinked, startled by his sudden arrival. âCamilo? Shouldnât you be out enjoying the party?â
He shook his head, stepping closer. âThe party doesnât matter if youâre not enjoying it too.â Without waiting for a reply, he draped his ruana over your shoulders, the warmth of it immediately chasing away the chill in the air. âYouâve spent enough of tonight alone.â
His presence was magnetic, pulling you out of your shell without effort. He began to talk about the funny things heâd seen in the village, mimicking peopleâs voices and gestures until you were laughing so hard your sides hurt. When he saw you relax, he leaned against the railing next to you, his tone softening.
âYou know,â he said, his voice quieter now, âyou mean a lot to us. To me.â He glanced at you, his eyes earnest. âI didnât want the year to end without making sure you knew that.â
The weight of his words settled over you, warm and comforting. He reached out, his hand covering yours as the fireworks reached their peak, painting the sky in brilliant colors. The world seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you in that moment.
âThank you,â you whispered, your voice barely audible over the distant cheers. âFor everything.â
Camilo smiled, his thumb brushing lightly over your knuckles. âYouâll never have to feel alone, not as long as Iâm around.â
As the clock struck twelve, you felt a peace you hadnât known in a long time. Surrounded by the Madrigalsâ love and Camiloâs unwavering presence, you knew this New Yearâs would be the start of something beautiful.
Jake âHangmanâ Seresin x Reader (callsign Vapour)
Fluff
Summary: Vapour teaches Hangman to put his mouth where his money is.
AN: tomorrowâs my birthday!! (Yup, sharing the same birthday as Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo đ„č)
Story under the cut:
Hangman was in rare form that morningâif by "rare" you meant absolutely, maddeningly, always insufferable.
The squadron had barely settled into the briefing room when Jake "Hangman" Seresin made it his mission to antagonize everyone in his orbit.
"Rooster, you planning to keep that mustache after I wipe the floor with you today?" he quipped, leaning back in his chair. "Or is it aerodynamic enough to help you fly better?"
Rooster shot him a flat look. "Shouldnât you be studying the rulebook, Seresin? I hear you keep forgetting what 'teamwork' means."
Jake laughed, loud and carefree. "What can I say? I donât need teamwork when Iâve got skill. Iâm just built different."
"Built irritating," Phoenix muttered under her breath, earning a smirk from Bob.
In the corner of the room, youâcall sign Vapourâremained silent, arms crossed, and gaze steady on the whiteboard. You had no intention of getting involved in Jakeâs antics. Heâd teased you enough in the past, despite the fact you barely spoke to him.
âAwfully quiet over there, Vapour,â Jake called out, turning his attention to you. âWhatâs the matter? Saving all your words for your post-match excuses?â
You didnât even glance at him. âI, unlike some, donât waste words,â came your reply.
That earned a round of "oohs" from the others, and even Hangman seemed momentarily caught off guard before recovering with a grin. âWeâll see if your flyingâs as sharp as your tongue.â
The reason you were called Vapour wasnât a mystery to anyone. During a training exercise, youâd pulled off a miracle landing with barely a drop of fuel left, earning you the respect of the instructors and the envy of a certain cocky aviator. Jake had never stopped trying to one-up you since.
Todayâs dogfight simulation would be the perfect battleground.
Up in the air, Hangmanâs taunts were relentless.
âVapour, you sure youâre up there? Havenât seen you all game,â he teased over the comms. âOr maybe thatâs just your styleâlight and forgettable.â
Phoenix groaned. âDo you ever shut up, Seresin?â
âIâm just providing commentary,â he replied. âGotta make things interesting while I mop the floor with you.â
You stayed quiet, focusing on your maneuvers. You werenât interested in banterâyou had one goal: take Hangman down.
Jake was good. Annoyingly good. But he was also predictable. He liked flashy moves and big risks, and you had no problem using that against him. You let him chase you for a while, luring him into a false sense of control.
âGotcha now, Vapour,â he said smugly, locking onto your tail.
âDo you?â you replied, your voice finally cutting through the comms.
With a sharp roll and a sudden cutback, you slipped out of his sights and got behind him instead. Jakeâs curses filled the channel as you locked on and fired the simulated kill shot.
âHangman, youâre tagged,â Maverick announced.
Silence.
For the first time in what felt like forever, Jake Seresin had nothing to say.
âVapour!,â Rooster cheered. âFinally someone shut him up!â
You smirked, leveling your jet and heading back to base.Â
Back on the ground, Jakeâs usual swagger was noticeably absent as the team debriefed. Rooster, Phoenix, and the others took turns mocking him, clearly reveling in his defeat.
Jake made a beeline for you afterward, his expression unreadable.
âVapour,â he said, folding his arms. âYou got lucky.â
You arched an eyebrow. âLuck? Or maybe youâre just all talk.â
For once, he didnât have a comeback. He just stood there, staring at you like he was trying to figure you out.
Before he could say anything else, you gave him a pat on the shoulder. âYou know Hangmanâs actually the perfect name for someone who just got left swinging in the wind.â
And with that, you walked off, leaving him standing thereâthoroughly humbled.
Hello dear!
Sorry for bothering you, but it's important to remind you to turn off your asks for a few days! Bad things are going to happen on Tumblr soon...
Don t know anything about this but BETTER BE SAFE EVERYBODY!!!!!!
MÄui-tikitiki-a-Taranga x Reader (ft. Jealous!Moana)
Fluff, angst
Inspired by a comment by: @eragon-and-arya98 on part one of this story called Tides of Change.
Summary: As Maui, Moana, and a reluctant eel guardian journey together, an unexpected bond forms⊠but jealousy and unspoken feelings threaten to tear them apart.
Story under the cut
The mist thickened again, swirling around us like a web of secrecy. I stood at the edge of the boat, my gaze fixed on the water, trying to ignore the way Maui kept glancing over at me. I wasnât sure if it was the dim light, or something about his grin, but there was something in his eyes today. Something softer than before.
The boat rocked under us, and I shifted my weight, feeling the current pull against the hull. Moana, still gripping the oar with her usual focus, glanced between Maui and me. She raised an eyebrow, her lips pressed into a thin line.
âYou alright there?â Moana asked, her tone casual but with an edge. It wasnât hard to tell that she was watching us more than she needed to.
Maui gave a lazy shrug, turning his back to her. âYeah, just⊠you know, taking in the view.â
I stiffened, but it wasnât the insult that bothered meâit was the way he said it, the way he looked at me as if there was something more. Something I didnât want to acknowledge.
Moanaâs eyes flickered to me, her gaze sharper now. Her lips parted, and I saw the muscles in her jaw tighten. She was pissed.
âYouâre not⊠flirting with her, are you?â she shot out, her voice too casual for the sharpness in it.
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. âI donât know what youâre talking about, Moana.â I turned my attention to the water, trying to ignore the unease stirring in my chest. The last thing I needed was more drama.
But then Mauiâs voice broke through the silence, his tone a little too light. âRelax, Curly, Iâm not flirting.â He grinned at me, and this time, it didnât feel like a joke, it felt like something else, something I couldnât quite place.
Moanaâs glare hardened, and I saw her grip the oar a little too tightly. The tension in the air thickened, but I couldnât bring myself to care. All I could think about was the way Maui had looked at me just now. The way his eyes seemed to linger longer than necessary.
I wanted to hate him. Really, I did. He had that smug, overconfident air about him that shouldâve made him unbearable. But every time he looked at meâ every time he brushed past me with that cocky grin or leaned just a little too close⊠it did something to me that I couldnât shake.
It wasnât love. Of course not. I wasnât naĂŻve. But something in me stirred, something Iâd buried deep for so long.
I didnât know what it was, but I couldnât ignore it anymore.
Moana shifted her weight, the frustration practically radiating off her as she glanced between us again. âMaui, stop. I can tell when youâre trying to make things awkward,â she muttered.
Maui just raised an eyebrow, unbothered by the tension. âWhat? You donât like my charm?â
I couldnât help the slight smirk that pulled at my lips. âI donât think anyone could like that charm.â My voice was sharp, but there was a hint of amusement that I wasnât ready to admit to.
He chuckled, leaning back casually. âFair enough, Legs. But donât worryâIâm just here for the ride.â
The boat swayed again, and I found myself stepping a little closer to steady myself. Maui didnât move, but his proximity was undeniable. The air between us shifted once more, and it was suddenly hard to breathe.
For a second, I thought I might have imagined it, but then I felt the warmth of his hand brush against mine as he reached for the oar.
I stiffened, eyes flicking to his face. He was still grinning, but there was something else behind it nowâsomething that didnât belong in the quiet tension of the boat.
âYou okay?â Maui asked quietly, his voice lower than before. His thumb grazed my hand, and I had to force myself to breathe normally.
I nodded, swallowing the sudden dryness in my throat. âIâm fine,â I muttered, not trusting myself to say more.
Moana, on the other hand, had had enough. âI donât get it,â she spat, her words sharp enough to cut through the fog. âYouâre not⊠seriously flirting with her, right? I thought we were past that, Maui.â
Maui paused, and for the first time, I saw something flicker in his eyes. It wasnât his usual teasing, cocky expressionâit was something more. âWhat if I am?â he asked, his voice quiet and uncertain for the first time.
I felt my heart skip a beat, but I didnât say anything. I couldnât. Instead, I turned away, my gaze returning to the mist ahead, trying to keep my composure.
Moanaâs voice was barely a whisper when she spoke again. âYouâre really going to mess with her, arenât you?â
Maui didnât answer right away, but his expression softened as he watched me, and I saw the faintest hint of something like regret flicker across his face.
But it didnât last. Instead, he grinned again, leaning back with a nonchalant shrug. âYou know me. I like a good challenge.â
And with that, I felt itâmy resolve weakening. Because no matter how much I wanted to pretend I didnât care, I knew that this⊠this thing between us was far from over.
Moana glared at him, but her gaze flicked to me for a moment, her expression unreadable.
I couldnât tell if she was more jealous, or if she was just worried. Maybe both.
But I didnât care. Not anymore.
Perhaps⊠I was finally done pretending.
