Pages 5/6 from ‘A Day Like Any Other’ zine. I am drawing about the endless policing of women’s behavior and how we are raised to think that our actions determine whether we will be rewarded or preyed upon by the men we meet. I hope we move forward to a time where everyone is accountable for their own actions and not anyone else’s. #feminist #boyswillbeheldaccountable #risograph #theartofprotest #betterfuture
Still working on my Mother's Day card. Even if it's not done before next year, I somehow doubt it will be outdated. If there is anything you'd like to give your Mom for Mother's Day, let me know in the comments. I've got: Universal prenatal care; A halt to rising maternal mortality; Sensible postnatal advice; Twelve months parental leave; Sliding scale 24hr childcare; A fair division of domestic labor that does not foist the necessary work of housewives onto undocumented workers and underpaid women of color; Valued for your knowledge rather than your appearance or, failing that, at least not condemned for your vanity; A progressive public education system that works to address the systemic inequality faced by previous generations; Inclusive social spaces where children and the elderly are welcome, so as a caregiver, you are not additionally burdened by loneliness and alienation; Job security, so taking time to care for your family doesn’t keep you from providing for them; A functioning civil court system which, in the absence of personal responsibility, ensures a child is equitably supported by both parents; Restorative justice; Healing; Compassion; Solidarity Let me know what I overlooked.
How is the summer almost over? One of the World's Most Fashionable Paper Dolls returning home from Madrid. @maxhosa sweater, @celine sunnies (total light blockers, ideal for headache-y mornings and sad afternoons) Always a massive bag for reading material and a picnic and extra pens. Love this leather bag from Aakasha on @etsy The pleats on these #fiorella pants are also for storage. They hide a travel wallet for passport and cash. #travel #madrid #spain #airportstyle #tikidolls (at Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport)
