The official Tiki Papier professional debut! The World's Most Fashionable Paper Doll is posing in Lesley Ware's new book - How To Be A Fashion Designer! All of her outfits were expressly designed for this project. Lesley's writing is wonderful. She is incredibly chic and generous and endlessly enthusiastic about fashion. The book is as charming as she is. We are so proud and grateful and humbled to have been part of this. It was a wonderful project and a delightful way to spend the summer. The book launches this Saturday! & you’re invited! There is a party at McNally Jackson Books 52 Prince St NYC 10012 (mostly a kids event) 11:30a - 12:30p. There will be a chat with Lesley, kid activities and book signing. See flyer for more details. If you are in New York, please come. Lesley is marvelous and you should meet her! No ticket necessary, just bring your lovely self! @creativecookie @dkbooks @mcnallyjackson (at McNally Jackson Books)
Barcelona street style is hard to spot in the throngs of tourists. They fill the streets like a demobbed army of white people in sensible shoes. I saw the glow of this lady's hair blocks before she was close enough for me to see her gold necklace. The print dress, shoppers, and white court shoes were everything. #prints #sensible #ladylike #foodshopping #barcelona #streetstyle
Tiki Travel Tip. If you are in France during the summer, eat as many cavaillon melon as you can. They are absurdly delicious and you cannot tire of them. Unless you are French and surrounded by tourists who constantly exclaim, "OMG this is the best melon I've ever had! OMG it is so good!" That might grow tiresome. If you are French and jaded about melons, visit a country with some truck ripened melons that taste of ash and refrigerator coolant. Then you will go home and scrape your teeth against the rinds of these and delight in them.
Tiki Travel Tip #2 Emergency coffee. Bring something with you in your carry-on. Jetlag is a vicious beast and you must be prepared to fend for yourself if you wake up outside of room service hours. This is a strange single-serving pour over from Trader Joe's that I wouldn't take on a Mars mission, but was awfully glad to have with me in a little one star hotel in the Saint Germaine. There was a kettle downstairs and I carried this bag of coffee grounds and boiling water up three flights of carpet steps worn shiny and thin by decades of budget tourists. I felt young again.
