Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse is the first ever comic book movie

Into the Spider-verse possesses incredibly unique and imaginative animation that is a perfect blend of so many different styles that it creates something fresh. Though I think what elevates it above its peers is just how much it feels like a comic book.

While some people would point to other films such as Superman and the Avengers and refer to them as comic book movies, they lack any elements from the medium. Remember, Comic books are not restricted to only superhero stories. They can tell whatever story the author wants.

Into the Spider-verse cements itself as a comic book movie by bringing in elements from the medium. The most obvious being the thought boxes and onomatopoeias though the details go beyond just that. Background Characters are animated with much less detail because that's what you do in a comic book. The designs of each Spidey costume and some Spidey people have this comic booky feel to it due to both the poppy colours and 2d feel to it. Motion moves like a stop motion without ever feeling choppy or rough. Instead, it comes off like each frame is its own panel in a comic with us having to imagine the in betweens. Anyone who's read a comic book knows what I'm talking about, half the fun comes not from looking at what is drawn but imagining what isn't.

Though what really makes this is a comic book movie is that there are certain scenes where if you pause it and ask a person who hasn't heard of spider-verse, if you can find them, is said frame from a comic book/still piece of art or animation, I bet quiet a few would say the former.

It's hard to put what I've noticed into words though if you read comic books a lot, I'm sure you can see just how heavily into the spider-verse takes elements from said medium.

Calling your state and local politicians is a better tactic than emails; phone calls are more difficult to ignore plus you'll have a better impact compared to written words. During the call, make it clear that unless they're willing to protect net neutrality, you will not vote for them during next elections. If a bunch of politicians feel they might lose the elections over net neutrality, they might pressure the government as well.

As for raising awareness, while Blogs, YouTube videos, Reddit and Facebook posts are helpful, there are people out, older folks, who don't use the internet. As such, it is important to be willing to raise awareness in person either one on one or with others.

The library analogy is a good explanation on net neutrality and its importance.

So imagine you head to the library to burrow some books for a biology assignment. The librarian let's you take out any books you want without delay or extra cost, regardless of her opinions. This what net neutrality looks like essentially.

Now imagine you head back there again for your assignment and there a new librarian. She only lets you take out books she approves of and stops or significantly delays you from taking out the books she doesn't like. But wait, if you pay her $20 bucks, she'll let you take out those unapproved biology books right away. Now you don't have $20, so you decide to go to a different library than you remember this is the only library in town. So in the end you fail because you couldn't take out the books you needed. This is what happens when you get rid of net neutrality.

If you live in the USA

and you haven’t done anything to fight for net neutrality, now is the time! We only have 5 days left to stop the government and the FFC. Please call and email people or else blogs like mine and many more will dissapear… Applying for jobs will be harder… Schools and libraries will be at harm… Globalization will be compromised in general, so please take the time to do something.

Deltarune theory -Noelle killed Dess and Asgore took the blame

Based off of evidence gathered primarily from chapter 2′s pacifist and snowgrave route, this theory states that Noelle accidentally froze Dess to death and Asgore was fired from the force because of it. Throughout each mention of Dess, it is always in past tense. While it is possible that she might of moved away, we are given indication or mention of Dess’s current situation. It is instead through Berdly’s anecdote about how Noelle broke down after being asked to spell December do we learn of Dess’s fate. We already know that Dess is short for December from earlier when we spelt it out with Noelle. Furthermore, we know it can’t be from stress. While Noelle is presented as an anxious individual, she was still able reach the finals and December is not a particularly hard word to spell. Nor can it be due to simply missing Dess in the same way that Kris does with Asriel. Based off of Noelle’s and Birdie’s age as children in the flashback along with the assumption that Dess is around Asriel’s age than Dess should of still been present in her life. So ruling those out and based off the intensity of Noelle’s reaction, Dess must of died sometime before the spelling bee. As to the cause of Dess’s death, I do not believe that Asgore was in anyway directly responsible for it, accident or not. Rudy still holds Asgore in good regards nor is he in prison. Considering that Noelle’s mother is mayor (who we’ll call Carol here) as seen through the similiarities between our various characters mention the two, then if Asgore was directly responsible for Dess’s death than he’ll likely be in prison. So no, Asgore has nothing to do with Dess’s death. It was Noelle who was the one who killed Dess due to stress triggering her ice magic. When we check out the frozen aisle section at Sans’s grocery store, we learn that Noelle would often stare blankly into the frozen aisle section. Then, if you play the Snowgrave route, the several instances in which Noelle uses her ice magic on a strong scale such as with the puzzles, the shopkeeper and finally Berdly, it always triggers due to some sort of stress and involves her blacking out during it. While we know that magic isn’t as prevalent among monsters as it is Undertale, we know it still has to exist in some manner due to Catti mentioning how she was doing research on occult stuff and magic at the diner. Noelle’s magic in the light world likely isn’t as strong as it is in the Dark World but it still would of been enough to kill someone especially during winter. Noelle likely killed Dess when a stressful situation triggered her ice magic. The exact cause is difficult to assume. However, based of Dess’s desire to leave for the big city and how their mother can be hard, I believe that Dess tried running away and Noelle ended up tagging along. The two quickly became lost during which the fear and stress that Noelle would of been experiencing triggered her ice magic and blacking out. Carol, not knowing where her daughters are and with an unexpected snowstorm, orders Chief Asgore to send a search party for them only to instead find Dess’s body and Noelle unconscious in the snow. Carol, blaming Asgore for failing to find Dess in time, forces the Police to remove him leading to a rookie Undyne to suddenly being given the position of Chief. Asgore also blaming himself would end up cutting ties with Rudy unable to confront him due to his guilt and is likely one of the factors which lead to his and Toriel’s divorce. Noelle meanwhile would of have no recollection of the event instead believing everyone else that Dess froze to death thus also developing a trigger for extreme cold. So in short, Noelle accidentally killed her sister with ice magic and Asgore instead takes the blame for failing to find them in time.

So you want to become a Canadian, Eh?

Now that Trump is your President, many of you are thinking about moving to Canada. Well I say welcome abroad (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp), but first there are some things you need to know first before you become a Canadian Citizen.

1) you must be over eighteen years old

2) You must be able to both speak and write in either French or English

3) Have lived in Canada as a permanent Resident for the 4 out of 6 years before you apply

4) be physically present in Canada for 183 days or more during each of those four years.

5) filled your taxes for at least four years since the past six years as well as pay any income tax that you might owe.

6) Apply for citizenship within Canada.

You may not become a citizen if you have an inadequate knowledge in either French or English, nor can you become one if are or have recently been in Prison. Additionally, for anyone under the age of eighteen, your legal guardian(s) must apply for you and they have to be either a Canadian citizen or applying to become one themselves. However, if you are a minor, you do not need to meet the residency requirements. Finally, if you are or have been part of the Canadian Armed Forces, you may be eligible for a fast-track application process.

Note: all of the above info was gathered from here http://settlement.org/ontario/immigration-citizenship/citizenship/apply-for-canadian-citizenship/how-do-i-apply-for-canadian-citizenship/

Now the first step to becoming a Canadian is that you need to be a Permanent Resident. A Permanent Resident is someone who has been given permanent Residence Status by the Canadian government. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/about-pr.asp

Additionally, the website: “Move to Canada -15 miles http://15miles.info/move-to-canada/“ can help you see your chances of becoming a permanent resident. If you have an advanced degree, 2 or more years of professional experience, and $12,000 ($9000 USD) or more in savings, you can probably immigrate to Canada within a year. If you want a more detailed answer, take their quiz and see how good your chances are.

Now the final step to become a Canadian citizen is the Citizenship Test: a written and oral test where you’ll be asked about

the rights, freedoms and responsibilities of Canadian citizens,

Canada’s democracy and ways to take part in Canadian society,

Canadian political and military history (including the political system, monarchy and branches of government),

Canadian social and cultural history and symbols, and

           Canadian physical and political geography.

Additionally, this test will also be used to see if you have adequate knowledge in either English or French. For more info on the citizenship test see here  http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/cit-test.asp

So to answer the question you may all be wondering, no you can’t just move to Canada because you dislike Trump. You need to actually be prepared and have a plan if you want to live in Canada.

I understand that many of you are scared, myself included since we rely heavily on trading with the US, and that you may be wanting to move to Canada, but remember this.

Trump isn’t the first, nor will he be the last. There have always been idiotic and terrible leaders throughout every nation in history. Yet despite this, many nations are still standing. Why? Because their citizens never gave up. They still believed in their country, it’s people and wished it to be the best it can be, and they fought or still are fighting for that dream.

If you are afraid of living in America either due to your sexuality, religion or ethnicity, etc, and wish to move somewhere safer, I totally understand. And you want to become a Canadian, I welcome you open arms, but I beg of you. Do not give into nihilism and abandon your country. Discrimination has and always existed. It may not always be obvious at times, but every country has its xenophobes of various degrees. Canada is no exception as shocking as that might be.

So keep on fighting for what you believe in. Even if the entire nation is telling you to move, you must stand firm like a tree and say “no, you move”.

Remember Trump isn’t America. Nor are the republicans, Hilary, the Democrats, Obama or any other politician or political party. You are America, just as we are Canada.

You are the heart and soul of America. And if you truly believe in your country, you will make damn sure that both are as bright and vibrant as they can be.

I think it needs to become common knowledge that "inability to read social cues" can show up as overcompensating.

You don't know how much misbehaviour is allowed, so you become the perfect child who never tests rules.

You don't know if someone is irritated with you, so you'll be extra generous and self-effacing.

You don't know how much is expected of you at work so you'll kill yourself in a minimum-wage job and not notice that nobody else is working like this.

"Hardworking and quiet" should be as much of an autism red flag as "ignores rules and doesn't know when to stop talking". Or why don't we just start using words to communicate so i can stop tracking everybody's eyebrow twitches, that would be great.

An Honest Review of Underswap

Ever since Undertale started gaining traction- which was like a few hours after its release -the fandom has been turning out AUs left and right: some good, some meh, and some just plain awful.

Somehow Underswap fits under all three categories. Now don’t get me wrong, Underswap is an interesting idea when done right, but very little people seem to be able to. Now I’m sure everyone knows what the basics of Underswap is, everyone swaps roles and personality. Now the first is interesting, but once you introduce the second element, Underswap loses all originality.

Lets use Sans and Papyrus for example here. If you have them swap roles, not only do you have to think how they’re canon self would act, but also how and why they ended up in that place along with how it would effect them. However, when you have them swap personalities as well, it loses all interest.

Instead of the question being how would Sans act in Papyrus’s role, it’s now how Sans would act in Papyrus’s role if he also had his personality too. Well, exactly like Papyrus would.

See what I mean? You won’t be adding anything by having Underswap being both a role and personality swap. All you’re doing is creating a re skin of Undertale. Now not everyone does this and there are some good underswap stories and comics such as the ASK!MTTBlook blog that I really like mainly due to how they portray their characters and even though it isn’t exactly Underswap, but it has the same general idea, Storyshift. I’m not talking about the good ones though, I’m talking about the most popular and bland version of Underswap.

The one where people think by having US!Sans eat tacos and say myeh heh heh instead is somehow original. Why tacos? Why not hot dogs?

Anyways, there’s my rant, I have a few other problems with Underswap, but pretty much it all ties back to that idea. Well peace out
