✨Faeries ✨

Today we’ll be talking about Faeries! Also known as Fairies,  The Fae, The Fair Folk, The Honest Folk, The Little Folk, and many more. 

- What are faeries?: The answer to this differs between personal belief and cultures. What we do know is they are powerful, tricky, spirits found in nature. I personally like to think of them as nature spirits, having a specific connection to a place, like a river. Or a certain tree, plant, flower, element, ect. Each existing to protect or represent that thing, and be called on in its name. I also think faeries are specific extensions of the energies and correspondences surrounding the elements.  Where do I find them?:  As stated above, in nature! There are many different faeries, with different stories, associations, and things to offer. If there is nature, there are faeries.  Why should I work with them?: Let’s get this straight for those who are new, you do NOT have to work with or even believe in them to be a witch. That being said, Faeries can help as reconnect with nature, they can keep the nature that surrounds us safe too. For example helping and protecting a garden, they can help us in the way spells can too. They can help with luck, love, growth, happiness, just about anything you’d use a spell for. But don’t be fooled, faeries can also be tricksters. The majority of them are mischievous by nature. So beware, and stay safe. I’ll get into how to do that in a bit.  How do I work with them?:  Fae are similar to other spirits or Deities in that they have specialties, they can offer you help and advice. If you just want to keep on good terms with them or open up general communication and see where it goes you should go out into nature and leave an offering. Preferably near your house. If you want something specific, however, you should look into different kinds of Fae that are associated with that thing. To contact a specific fae, you could go somewhere that fae is associated with and leave an offering or do divination. You could meditate on the situation with them in mind. Summon them into a dream. It’s up to you and your practice.  Ways to honor them/offerings:  • Meditate and focus on them  • if you grown fruits and veggies, leave the last of it on the plant for them.  • Leave a bit of choice food like milk, bread, or wine out on the earth for them. They also like shiny things like jewelry, the finer things.  • Make an altar to them, especially to specific Fae.  • Leave a space near the fire for them.  Is there anything I shouldn’t do or be warned of?:  Yes! The Fae are mysterious creatures who can be easily offended. Here’s a list of do’s and don’ts when working with or communicating with The Fae.  DON’T be rude! Do not say anything disrespectful to the Fae, they consider themselves better than us and are more powerful and tricky than us. Often, much much older too. This also includes not snooping in a Faeries things or realm, not speaking of gifts or blessings they bring you, and not carrying iron with you or near them (it hurts them and WILL be seen as insulting or an attack.) And absolutely do not lie!  Always keep promises. This goes with the last tip, don’t lie to them and if you don’t keep a promise or deal the debt WILL be repaid either by your own hand, or perhaps less favorably by theirs. Do not accept a gift, say sorry, or thank you.  Once more on the topics of debts, doing any of these things implies you have a debt to them and you don’t want to find yourself in that situation.  Do not give them your name.  This gives them power over you. Instead say “You may call me ___.” Perhaps give them a nickname of yours.  Do not mention a child, especially an infant! The Fae love children but they may switch the child with a changeling or cause misfortune for the child if you anger them, do not risk it!  Do not dance with them or accept food or drink.  In folklore and stories this ends with dancing till death, or being forever tied to the Fae’s realm.  Mind your words.  The Fae are masters of trickery, they’re mischievous by nature. The Fae tend to take things literally, like genies in movies. You might not break any of these rules, yet they’ll still mess up what you ask for or wish for. Choose your wording VERY carefully, especially when asking for help.  How can I learn more?:  I would highly recommend The Fairy Bible by Teresa Moorey. She goes over just about anything and everything you’d want to know relating to Faeries. Thank you to the both of you for taking time to answer my queries! I read all the posts that were attached to the link and I've been meditating more often. The spirit/god that you've met seems quite interesting. Can you tell more about his identity,origins and characteristics?(if it's allowed or if you're comfortable sharing) does he know about loa? also,what are some special precautions I should take to not aggravate deities or spirits because I'm not trying to get struck down, you see.

So he is the Christiant/Catholic God/deity but when asked, he said he would be fine/would prefer also being called Mica. A few traits of his is

He has a favorite voice but he still tries to check out different voices for himself (his favorite voice sounds like the narrator from Stanley's Parable but deeper). His voice is loud and he commonly voice cracks which is incredibly funny now that I write about it

He likes songs from any genre but he prefers songs that are vocal based (he once said he liked All too Well until someone sang it one too many times in heaven, now he just doesn't). Whenever those songs pop up, he doesn't sing along but he does hum and compliments the artists voice

When he doesn't like something, he usually says something along the lines of "As long as one of my children likes it, then I will accept it", but he also does a kind of discontented "hmm" or a straight-up no sometimes 😭

He says very very random facts when I'm just doing something throughout the day. "If the United States follows Jus Soli then pepperoni pizza is American and not Italian" or "Humans were actually designed to exist on water but live on land" or "I had modeled Jesus from one of my favorite creations, the lizard!" and no, he just does not elaborate on any of these

He is a confused but supportive man! If he doesn't like what you're doing, he just sighs and makes a comment about free will and how he can't do anything about this

He doesn't have a physical form, he even makes jokes about this. He would often say, "If I had eyes, I would close them and never open them again" or "At times like this, I'm glad I never gave myself a nose". He said he can give himself a physical form but since he's not required to, he simply won't. He said, physically he has no gender but he prefers He for now. He said any pronoun is acceptable for him but he just prefers getting called He

I asked him about his origins before but he simply doesn't know the answer. "One day, I just realized I existed. I think for a long time, I just existed without ever realizing that I did. I will never remember where I began but I know that I will not end at the very least and so I am content with knowing that I am not completely all-knowing", was his answer

He does know about Loa! He's not bothered by affirmations like "I am God" because he knows its in reference to power, not religion. He's aware of the existence of other gods and deities in other dimensions/worlds/realities and he accepts that too

I was watching this kdrama called Business Proposal and like, when a certain scene happened, his voice came on and he sounded SO whiny, "he isn't good for you! Leave him :((" and I fell over laughing, "Don't laugh at me, I'm right :((("

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS YOU CAN TAKE;

> As much as possible, be respectful. Some gods and deities understand the slang but they also know when ur purposefully being mean so be respectful as much as possible

> And don't try to anger them on purpose. Christian God is fine with like, playful fighting but don't get him angry. (Or any spirit that is powerful, angry)

How to Know When Your God Has Claimed You

As I told the initiates in one of our first classes, traditional pagan witchcraft is closer to atheism than to modern witchcraft. Because we never rely on faith alone. We wait for evidence. “In our family, being claimed is never just a feeling. It is real and concrete. Neither circumstantial nor fleeting.” And now that all of the initiates have been claimed by their divine parents, I can finally repost this.

APOLLO

The God of Victory will give you a miraculous triumph at the last minute. Whether through a sports match, a final exam in school or a promotion at work… whatever was impossible will take a turn. And at the moment of your win, the Sun will shine on you. If it is raining, it will suddenly stop. If it is a bright day, it will turn gloomy, except right above you.

DIANA

The Goddess of Fertility will bathe you in silver. When you look in the mirror, you will see yourself wearing a silver necklace you cannot feel on your neck. You will hear people compliment a silver bracelet you cannot see yourself wearing. You will see photographs of you wearing a silver dress when in reality the fabric was black or red.

Someone you deem unethical or immoral could lose everything they have. He will not give you an advantage, but he will take away others’ head start so you can compete fairly again.

URANUS

The God of Chaos will give you endless waking visions. You will spend a whole afternoon in a chocolatier only to find out the next day that it never existed. You will have a long conversation with a man only for someone to approach you and say, “Why are you talking to yourself?” He will let you travel through the veil to different times and realities.

NEPTUNE

The God of the Hidden will whisper in your ear. He will tell you secrets about people, places and things. It is a test. If you use this knowledge to hurt the innocent, you will never hear from him again. But if you use it to destroy only the cruel and the deserving, he will keep talking.

PLUTO

The God of the Underworld will physically visit you. You will wake up in the middle of the night to find a tall, hooded figure standing a few feet away. You will feel sleepy. When you wake up again, you will see him sitting on your bed, silently watching you. The next time you open your eyes, you will see his face inches away from yours. He will not be smiling, but it will feel so comforting.
