Eris’ Shop

Aka stuff I have extra of that I’m selling! I’ll be selling them at the price I purchased them for, with discounts via multiple purchases. I’m selling this now due to my trying to get enough money to afford the set I really want for my birthday in a few months, and to pay off various debts owed. Right now, all products for sale are Doctor Who products, but I’ll likely start selling others once I start getting them in. Price is exactly as I paid for them strictly due to the shipping costs here. Some of these I’ve seen sold for more, others sold for less. Best you know that now. Can be purchased via paypal, or I can place them in a listing on Ebay strictly for you. Just let me know the preferred method. Won’t ship until after I’m paid, will ship as soon as I can just  afterwards! Dvds are shipped in envelopes, wrapped in bubble wrap, the figures will be shipped in boxes, mini boxes taped shut, and the boxes will be stuffed with paper and/or bubble wrap as protection. As a collector myself, I understand the importance. If you don’t live in the U.S., I’ll likely have to charge extra for shipping. Apologies on that count. Likely cannot accept payments or ship out for another week or two. Will place item on reserve if you request it.

Honestly one of my favorite Sonic Games. Each one of the Advance trilogy games feel extremely different and hit a different aspect of Sonic. Sonic Advance 1 is the best platformer of the three, but Sonic Advance 2 feels the fastest. There’s a constant emphasis on speed in a way neither 1 or 3 hit. It rewards flying through the stages and has less speed traps than most of the other ones, though I admit Hot Crater Zone’s speed trap got me a few times when I was younger. Sure “Just hold D-Pad right to win” but there was more to it than that. It still holds up to me imo, and I’m lucky enough to still have two working GBA’s and a Battle Connector. The Boss fights are also unique in a way I haven’t seen except in a few final fights in the Boost era. I admittedly was surprised but quickly got into the swing of them, and find them quite fun. In addition the physics of the trilogy were my favorite, and the only physics I like as much are either classic Sonic, or Mania.

My only complaint with the game itself is how hard it was to unlock Amy, and her control scheme. Get all 7 chaos emeralds 4 times as all characters was way too hard for me when I picked it up, it took me until 2020 or so to FINALLY unlock her, and… I found I preferred her control in Sonic Advance 1…

I think the whole series is underrated and overlooked by the rest of the fandom. I’m pretty sure it’s “Adventure Era” but I rarely see anyone talk about them, especially weird since I see a LOT of talk about Sonic Rush, which is essentially Sonic Advance 4, and while I love Rush… the Trilogy plays better and I personally loved being able to play as Sonic AND his friends.

Tl;dr: This is one of the Sonic Games of All Time, and matches with the Classic Series energy in the Adventure Era

Too long for a reply, but I hope you don’t mind the answer to it:

So actually the difference is kinda straightforward ironically enough. Engraving is skill regarding engraving images into walls and floors. Stone carving is carving of stone into objects, particularly trade goods. Stone cutting is cutting stone into furniture or blocks. The easy way to tell is which station they do it at. Engravers only engrave things through the engrave command. Stone cutters are those who smooth floors, carve fortifications or minecart tracks, and work at the stone mason’s workshop. Stone carvers work at a craftsdwarfshop.

Masons btw are those that build the walls, drawbridges and other structures that need to be assembled if they’re made out of stone blocks or stones

Edit: Stone Carvers carve fortifications & mine cart tracks. Stone crafters work at a craftsdwarfshop. There’s also a recipe on the stone mason’s table that uses stone carving instead of cutting, but I don’t know which one it is. Stone cutters still smooth floors, so that information is accurate. Tbh, just cross-train your stone workers imo, excluding stone crafting. You’d rather have a strange mood on a stone cutter than a stone crafter

Dwarf Fortress is truly the game of all time.

Dwarf Fortress Is Truly The Game Of All Time.

These are all distinct skills. How in gods name am i meant to intuit the difference between Stone Carving and Stone Engraving

Come to think of it, asking a dwarf a question like that is liable to attract some strange looks. In dwarf culture you'd have to be a special kind of idiot to not know the difference between carving and engraving, after all. This is just Dwarf Fortress providing the authentic culture shock experience

Many years ago I found ten symbols in a cave. Some I recognized then, some I only recognize now. The native people of Gravity Falls prophesied that these symbols could create a force strong enough to vanquish Bill.

I’m willing to bet it won’t be long before there’s fanfic recreations of points 12 and 14.

Some trivia, Alex told on BigFest today:

The way the crew usual way of coming up with a story was to think of some normal situation and then add something magical and crazy. “Sock Opera” was used as the example: first they came up with an idea of Mabel trying to impress her puppet-obsessed crush with puppet show, and then they began brainstorming weird things that might happen. Some of the earlier ideas included Mabel getting super-knitting powers and making living sweaters, and puppets coming alive and attacking Mabel (Alex even made a drawing of that).

Soos never tasted alcohol in his life. As for Stan… Well, there’s the reason his nose is this color.

There will be more about Ford’s (mis)adventures beyond the portal in the Journal. Alex couldn’t talk about it much, but he gave a little teaser: Ford was thrown into a dimension, that was controlled by Bill (or his lackeys); there, his top priorities were: 1) learn to survive, 2) make a weapon capable of destroying Bill; on his journeys Ford made many friends and even more enemies and eventually became an interdimensional criminal. There will be a wanted poster for Ford in the upcoming Journal (and even more “Rick and Morty” references)

The journal will also have more info on Ford’s & McGucket’s adventures during their youth.

One of the chapters in the upcoming choose-your-own-adventure book will reveal something important about Bill’s dying message.

Giffany is still alive, she managed to import here code somewhere, before her disc was destroyed. Again, more on that in the Journal.

Originally, Soos was supposed to go by his full name (Jesus), but Disney advised against it, thinking that some people would accuse the show of blasphemy. But the decision to give Soos shortened name backfired, since many people thought his name was “Zeus”.

Originally Bill didn’t have a surname, but Disney again advised against it, since they were afraid that people behind the character “Mr. Bill” might sue them for copyright infringement. So Alex came up with the name “Bill Black”, he thought it sounded cool and mysterious, but it turned out there was a some real guy with that name, and Disney was afraid he might sue them. All the other names Alex came up with were rejected for the same reason. Eventually, one late night, Alex was coming up with ciphers for the upcoming episode and thought “What if I just name him Cipher?”. The rest is history.

There was a scene in “Sock Opera”, that had to be cut for time, where Bill claimed, he was behind many great minds of the history, like, for example, helping Isaac Newton discover gravity and helping Stanley Kubrick fake the moon landing.

Bill can never go back to the place he came from. Alex also hinted that there may be more about his origins in the Journal, although not much, since Bill is the kind of character that benefits from being mysterious.

Dipper’s real name is NOT Michael, Alex, Mabel or Bill.

There was supposed to be a sub-plot in the finale, where clones #3 & 4 would try to kidnap Dipper and go back home with Mabel instead of him, but it was cut due to being too confusing.

Alex is talking with Disney about making some Gravity Falls comics, although nothing is concrete yet.

One of the ideas for the sixth “Mabel’s Guide” short was “Mabel’s Guide to Death”, in which her pet caterpillar gets eaten by a bird, and she talks about coping with death. The idea was rejected for being too morbid. The replacement idea - “Mabel’s Guide to Smiles” - was deemed offensive by Disney, since Mabel was going to visit local prison and try to teach inmates to smile. Although Alex might upload the storyboards for this rejected short online some day.

Funfact, if you dig into the lore of the various dupes, these bits of lore about their personalities line up with the Gravitas Employees with the same names. The best example of this Devon's dream of a toast-blog are due to the Gravitas Devon actually having a Toast blog, called "Toast of the Town". There's a few emails about it.

The Sassy Marquess

A blog about colony management simulators apparently nowadays. Used to do some fan stuff back in the day, but haven't in a long time. Mostly about Dwarf Fortress right now. Might also feature Oxygen Not Included or Deep Rock Galactic
