of @the-wip-project‘s challenge
Q37: Post your favorite line of dialogue that you’ve written recently.
A37:
“Do you remember, us? How hot we were for each other that we fucked all night?”
Who could forget? I sneaked a smile wile agreeing, “From sunset to dawn.”
I’ve been re-reading a lot of my favorite Clexa fics and figured to put them all in a list in case anyone hasn’t read any of these BRILLIANT CLASSICS. Enjoy, y’all!
—
Quality Ingredients by HurricaneJane/@thatonewherelexasachef - Boy, oh BOY. This is the first Clexa fic my thankful eyes had ever laid upon. HJ’s writing is absolutely spectacular here. It’s a brilliant AU where Lexa is a chef and Clarke is a doctor and they meet because OF A BLOODY HAND DUE TO ROAN (Hellooooo 3x04!!). The fic isn’t finished, but I do have hopes that maybe one day it will be. I’ve re-read it 3 times.
Coeurastronaute/@coeurdastronaute Fics:
Kiwi - Lexa is a hottie rockstar/musician and meets Clarke on Tinder. It’s a cute piece of fluff that I’m dying to have updated. I haven’t read it in quite some time, but it’s on my list of things to re-read. Coeur is an AMAZING writer, their stories never fail to please.
Essays In Existentialism - A VAST collection of one-shots or shorter 2 - 3 parters from Coeur. Lots of amazing content here. If you’re looking for some AU, you got it. Canon, you got it. Fluff, you got it. Angst, you got it. If you’re down for any kind of Clexa read, I suggest just doing down the list.
Footy - Clexa AU where Lexa is the world’s best soccer star. She meets Clarke by chance, and a little bit if fate keeps bringing the girls together. This is a cute, fluffy piece, and coming off the World Cup, I dove right in for a re-read. The status of this one is still WIP, but like the rest, I’m truly hoping for an update.
Except You Love by @theproseofnight - Words can’t even begin to describe the quality of writing in this story. If you’re looking for a super angsty, slow burn that could possibly shatter your heart a million times over, this is the read for you. If you haven’t read it, I promise it is really well worth it. The story was just completed (god bless) last month and it seems that @theproseofnight is working on a piece similar (holy shit, can’t fucking wait). This is a must.
This is Heaven in Hiding by @orangeyouglad8 - Holy moly, angst, fluff, and smut all rolled into one juicy story. Lexa and Clarke work in similar fields and H.A.T.E. each other. I don’t want to give much away, but if you haven’t read this one, I really suggest it. The flow of the story is quite fantastic. I’ve re-read it once and it definitely won’t be the last time.
In Love in War and Politics by @centuriesofexistence - This one is fantastic and probably next on my re-read list. Clarke is running for senate and Lexa is her campaign manager. It’s a BRUTAL race with her opponent and the pair working so closely together leads to some Clexa sexa. Highly recommend it.
A Pleasant Undoing by @mopeytropey - This one is a personal favorite because of their occupations. Feels a bit close to home! Clarke is a bar manager and Lexa works for a brewery. The two meet because of work and the crushing and pining is super cute. I finished this one so quickly because the pace was amazingly set. This is definitely on my re-read list!
The White Queen Running by KL_Morgan - I think this is actually the only canon-ish fic I have on this list. To be honest, I’m not big on canons, I’m a HUGE AU kinda gal. Anyway, a good friend had bugged, and bugged, and bugged me to give this one a shot. I’m so fucking happy I did. The writing is exquisite, absolutely exquisite. I’m honestly not sure how to describe this one, I was pretty confused in the beginning, but then realized I was supposed to be confused. Just take my word for it and read it, mmkay?
Catch Me, I’m Falling by @clexa-hsau (two very talented writers) - The HSAU of all HSAU’s. Lexa and Clarke couldn’t dislike each other more, but little Aden does some matchmaking and helps the two realize that maybe they’re meant to be? Bit of angst, lots of fluff, and lots of sequels/one-shots to follow. I haven’t gotten through all of the one-offs, but they’re all definitely on my life. READ THIS.
Living on a Fault Line by anddirtyrain - Holy hell. Holy angst, holy slow burn, holy hell. This was recently recommended to me on here because I was asking for a fic that would hurt my heart the way “Except You Love” did, and this recommendation did not disappoint. Clexa are divorced with a daughter and this story shows the struggles of co-parenting when love still lingers. I recently just got my best friend to start reading this one and love every “WTF” text I get when she’s reading it. It’s amazing.
Lullaby Without You. by LJT - This is a heart-wrenching one. It really pulls at your heart. Clexa are married, but Clarke wakes up from an accident with no recollection of who she is. Lexa comes to the hospital every day to try and help her wife remember, while still having to take care of their son who very much misses his other mom. This one isn’t complete, but I’m reaaaaally hoping for an update.
Polis 433 by @ecfandom - AH, hot fire fighter Lexa and nurse Clarke. This one is a slow burn FO SHO. Clarke’s house has a super faulty fire alarm which sends Lexa to hear house on a weekly basis. Clarke’s kid takes a liking to Lexa, leading to Clarke taking a liking to Lexa. It’s all just so, so great. It’s being actively updated (the most recent update being this past week, WOOOP). Start it and subscribe to it and love it.
Grand Slam Thank You, Ma’am by @femininenachos - Nothing gets to me like a sporty Lexa. Let me present you with hottie tennis player Lexa and her hottie physio Clarke Griffin. It’s smutty and it’s fluffy and now that we’re in tennis season, I’m going to be reading this whole thing from cover to cover again.

A little shameless self promotion goes a long way, right? Below are three pieces I have on Ao3 as LostAndDelirious.
Maple Bourbon Candles - Clarke and her friends are on a 10-day trip up north during the winter and meet the small town’s general store owner, Lexa. They bump into each other after their initial meeting and start hanging out and Clarke finds herself to be a babbling mess around the girl. Not gonna lie, it’s pretty fluffy and kinda cute. It’s a WIP but I’m regularly updating it.
13 Clans - I’m a bit in love with writing this story at the moment. Lexa “The Commander” Woods works for a spirits company, heading up the marketing division. The company merges with a few others, and enters an influx of new people in the office, including Clarke Griffin who is now heading up events and sponsorships for all their brands. There are a lot of happy hours, a lot of drinks, and a lot of traveling. It’s a bit of a slow burn, especially because Lexa is kind of a bitch, but the two find that they don’t always get on each others nerves. WIP and regularly updated, I actually just posted the most recent chapter earlier this afternoon.
Why Do You Think It Feels This Way? - This one’s a one-shot. There are a few fluffy moments, but the overall theme is far from fluff. Clarke and Lexa are both fresh out of heartbreaking relationships and meet because of mutual friends on a weekend trip to a lake house. They find a bit of solace in each other over the course of the weekend and well, just read it to find out the rest.

of @the-wip-project‘s challenge.
Q43: How often to you switch WIPs and do you think that’s a good thing to do?
A43: I used to switch quite a bit. But this ended up in tons of notebooks of unfinished stories or redrafts of scenes I had already written down once as I could not find the first version of that scene. I’m the kind of person who reads one book at a time. Writing multiple wips at once can be good in terms of coming up with ideas. But if I’m avoiding writing a scene in one wip, writing for another wip becomes a form of procrastination for me.
To be honest, I did not even think of the last supper when I saw the opening ceremony. The segment in question had so much fabulousness - a big party and fashion show with a diverse set of models: fat, queer, skinny, a man and woman kissing, different skin tones, a break dancer who used crutches, amputees. It’s too bad the joy was not shared by all.
I hear so many people hating on the Olympics for showing drag queens reenacting the Last Supper. That does seem pretty blasphemous. I'm curious to hear your thoughts about that
The morning after the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony, my mom expressed her disgust at drag queens recreating da Vinci’s last supper and said it’s fine if they don’t believe but they shouldn’t mock others. I had no idea what she was talking about, I watched the opening ceremonies but I missed that. She admitted she didn't notice it either but it was all over her morning news.
Tbh, I figured if she was going to be offended by anything, it would be the multi-racial ménage à trois
Or possibly the guillotined Marie Antoinette holding her head
I found online that what she was referring to is what took place on a bridge over the river Seine. There was a table which had a red carpet down the middle which served as a catwalk. At the center of the table was seated a woman wearing a silver headdress, surrounded by many drag queens and dozens of dancers and artists. Models featuring fashions from France's most promising young designers walked the runway.
The specific part of the ceremony that caused the offense was a closeup of the people at the table. The tableau was reportedly based on a painting by Dutch artist Jan Harmensz van Biljert called "Feast of the Gods," painted in 1635, and is housed in the Musée Magnin in Dijon, France. In the painting, the Greek gods on Mount Olympus have a banquet to celebrate the marriage of Thetis and Peleus.
The figure seated at the center of the table is Apollo, being the sun god he has a halo of light around his head.
One thing I liked is they updated the idea of Apollo with his lute to be portrayed by French DJ Barbara Butch with her equipment. Barbara advocates for several causes, such as acceptance of obese people and lesbian rights. She says her "aim is to unite people, gather humans & share love through music for all of Us to dance & make our hearts beat at unisson! Music sounds better with all of Us!"
They also had a blue Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, fruit, vegetation, and festivities.
All that meaning wasn't explained during the broadcast and went over my head, but I guess it makes sense to have a scene in the Olympics that gives a nod to the Greek gods, where the Olympics began, and which is meant to convey celebratory festivities, and is based on a painting housed in a French museum.
Having a bunch of people on one side of the table reminded some people of Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper" painting.
The ceremony’s artistic director Thomas Jolly has said it was meant to celebrate diversity and pay tribute to feasting and French gastronomy. "The idea was to create a big pagan party in link with the God of Mount Olympus — and you will never find in me, or in my work, any desire of mocking anyone," Jolly said.
My guess is that if drag queens wanted to portray the Last Supper, they're talented enough that it would've been clear that was the intent.
Even if they meant to portray the "Last Supper, that painting has been recreated in many creative ways and I've never heard anyone upset about it, but maybe in this case they're upset because there were queer people involved.
Let's say the Olympic organizers did intend for this scene to be reminiscent of the "Last Supper," I'm good with it. Jesus would invite everyone to have a seat at the table, which is a good message for the Olympics to convey, all are welcome. No person at that table would be excluded from Jesus' table, but there's a number of Christians who exclude themselves if it meant not having to sit with queer people and others they perceive as sinners, which is ironic since Christianity teaches that we're all sinners.
In summary, I think some people misinterpreted the intention of what was presented, and a group of conservative media types promoted that misinterpretation to cause outrage because that would generate views and clicks. Most people who are angry by this weren't upset when they saw it originally aired, they are furious because they were told what they should think about it
What are your fave clexa fics and why
Oh boy. That’s just too much pressure. I’ll do it for multi chapter fics:
First off my favorite fic ever is probably More Women than Warriors by @steklir
My (close) second favorite is in love and war and politics by @centuriesofexistence
My favorite fics right now (that will easily enter my top-10/20) are maybe a crown seldom enjoyed by @onemilliongoldstars and you are in my head (and the prequel) by @mopeytropey
Fics that will forever feature in my top-10/15: in the shallows by @blindwire , the white queen running (and the sequel) by KL_Morgan (@entirelytookeen on Tumblr) , what heart’s ease must queens neglect by thrace, black ribbons by CareyElizabeth, open windows, open hearts by Sheisme, when love becomes the reason by @clarkesquad, blood rush in the hazy glow by firetestsgold, the fight me series by @fairytaleslayer, and the whores’ queen by @clarkethewanheda .
EDIT: I knew I was forgetting two fics! They’re Grand Slam Thank You, Ma'am by faithtastic (@femininenachos on Tumblr) and This Is Heaven In Hiding by @orangeyouglad8 (I’m so torn between this one and the Pirate AU)
There are probably more but these are the ones I remembered off the top of my head. Also, everything by the authors I mentioned is great. And there are so many other authors I love (like @commanderlexaofthegrounders , @paintthebrain , eternaleponine, raspberytree, AnonBeMe, AphroditesLaw, Teroe, etc) but I really tried to keep this list as short as possible.
Day 5: what is the world building detail that I really like in my current wip? Asks @the-wip-project
The science
yay to long haired vegetables and their strap ons! lol
Day 15 of @the-wip-project ‘s 100 day challenge
Does your WIP have fairytales? Do your characters tell mythical stories to each other?
No, not in my current wip but I love this idea! If I can think of a way to do the above that adds to the story of my wip, I will.
