Day 5 headcanons

• Tetch is that friend that tries to help you, but clearly doesn’t understand what you actually need.

• Tetch had a really good English teacher in middle school who helped him find other interesting books (at the time he mostly read Alice in wonderland over and over again and school assigned books)

1.This teacher also taught him how to come up with rhymes on the fly

•Tetch was bullied as a child for both looking a tad bit odd (buck teeth, shorter than some girls and large head) and for his natural shy and bookish nature

• He gained an interest in mind control when a saw a sideshow of a man getting both rats and audance volunteers to do odd and amazing tricks

• Schizophrenia will only worsen with age and every defeat at the hands of Batman

•Not exactly the most popular of rogues (Ivy, Scareface, Hush, Man-bat/Doctor langstrum, Two- face, Great white shark - it’s mutual) probably more don’t like him or some find it more fun to mess with him (Joker, Clayface)

• Has Maladaptive daydreaming, which has Sometimes put him in bad situations.

•Minor PTSD (triggered by losing his hat, being put in a corner, lots of people standing around him, being beat up)

• has Monophobia, Enochlophobia ( Has a lot of trouble in the Arkham cafeteria), and Autophobia.

Madeline has a slight fear of dogs, including puppies. She knows it's ridiculous and most people would laugh it off, but to her dogs are vicious.

Something that disturbs her is messiness. While she doesn't have OCD seeing trash and dust lying around bothers her immensely. She was always raised in a clean environment, if the kitchen is messy then the food is contaminated.

This was...messed up at the least, a complete distressing mess that has the police involved at the worst. I know he adores Wonderland, but this is just..

"It.. it's just so new to me! How did you know they wanted to volunteer?"

I tried to hide my nervousness, none of them were Alice so they became.. this? Does that mean?... No, he calls me Hare. The March Hare. I already have a chosen role.

Rogues Gallery of Portraits Pt 3

Mad Hatter

His words out of a book, learned by heart. Perhaps he was someone else once, but now he is this being of paper trying to be a person of flesh. The world has one dimension too many in which he doesn’t fit.

There is little to say about his appearance, and what may be said isn’t flattering. His nose is the most remarkable part of him, large and bent. Everything else is forgotten, eyes drawn to his hat. He has many, that he wears for different occasions ; a green bowler hat for dinner, a grey béret for rainy days, a blue top hat for murder, a red tricorne for holidays… His favourite is the top hat.

He makes hats for others as well. Put them on their heads and they turn docile, obedient. The world follows the story better with hats.

He smells like Earl Grey and dust, like he is a forgotten book himself. He’s missing his main character, his Alice, which he looks for in the eyes of all women, in the way they smile and in the words they speak. It takes more than blonde hair to be Alice ; he can always dye the hair. There is an essence that he seeks. An essence he never finds. The women get scared, fail, or grow old ; flesh people, changing and decaying. He curses Time and what it does ! It flows between his fingers like a stream, taking away the Alices. The world moves without him, too fast for him to understand.

It’s always 6 o’clock at his table and in his heart. The quest for an Alice never ends.

Yeah I definitely wished they had gone about a few things differently. Like why not have Harvey Dent, Thomas Elliot, and Roman Sionis hang out with Bruce?

Imagine watching as Roman begans making passive aggressive comments to Bruce and erodes their "friendship", after all his parents are dead, who's his parents going to kiss up to now? Bruce going through his trauma only for one night his best friend Elloit comes rushing through the door talking about how "they're the same now" with a smile on his face. Imagine Elloit having to go to therapy the doctor being Mr.Crane. Or Bruce noticing how withdrawn Harvey's gotten and noticing the Bruises. It'd be so interesting seeing the dynamic with his friends.

While this is happening we can watch Gordon deal with Maxie Zeus, Killer Moth, a younger Scarface, and of course the crime families. While Zeus and Moth are not considered real threats with our "modern" rogues gallery they would be in a younger Gotham who has never had any cases like these before.

We could watch as Killer Crocs mocked in a circus or being abused by his Aunt but nobody being brave enough to stop it. We could still have Selina Kyle as she fits perfectly in, same with Cobblepot.

Gotham could be so much more if they either followed more of the comics or had a few extra ideas (make new characters based on the old or taking forgotten characters and putting them in. (CoughElizebethKaneCough)

Gotham could be so much better in my opinion, but I guess we'll just wait and see what happens.

tbh? gotham could’ve been so SO much better if they hadn’t tried to introduce literally all the BIG rogues that kinda….require batman being around first to exist

like penguin was a good choice for ONE big rogue and tbh? they should’ve kept it just him as the main rogue u see and just gone with more of the c and d list villains since there’s not much there character wise and they could’ve done what they did with zsasz and improved them instead of yknow….completely destroying everything good about the characters in the first place just to fit the narrative of the story (COUGHEDWARDCOUGH) 

and like cmon? it couldve been so fucking good to have the likes of calendar man and shit running around doing their thing being gordon’s villains before bruce becomes batman and then the rest of the rogues start showing up

Can you imagine Bruce Wayne having the private residences of his various rogues tapped? Like he could log on to one and hear a live audio stream of their actions. Imagine:

Ivy quietly making soft ‘cooing’ noise to the various plants which she keeps in her home to nurture and for her protection. Sometimes Harley can also be picked up but she soon disappears after a few weeks or so.

Joker seemingly being aware that Batman has his home tapped and is happy to hold long provocative conversations in the hope that the Bat is listening at any given moment. Bruce hates it since Joker seems to have a sixth sense about when he is tuned in and uses it to his advantage to get under his skin.

Catwoman being the only other rogue who seems to be aware that Batman is listening to her but she is rarely home (and is intelligent enough to not discuss her business) so she uses it as an opportunity to flirt and give hints as to which expensive gifts she would not mind receiving.

Scarecrow’s line is pretty much silent most of the time since he tends to conduct experiments elsewhere but the occasional hummed lullaby can be heard along with mad cackling and it unsettles Bruce more than he is willing to let on.

Edward Nygma being, by far, the loudest of them all. Between the cacophony of creaking and grinding that his various electronic projects make as he constructs them and his incessant need to hear his own voice and practise riddles it can be very grating. Plus he sings. A lot.

The Mad Hatter seeming to have a habit of holding daily tea parties which are almost unintelligible as Tetch fully descends into the madness which has a great hold of him. Bruce can only hear the story of the Walrus and the Carpenter so many times.

Bruce having to force himself to check the feed assigned to Harvey Dent as there is always a chance that instead of picking up Two-Face barking instructions to his henchmen over the telephone, he may pick up pure silence only broken by the occasional sob of the man whom he was once best friends with.

Angel: Is there anyone you would do anything for?

Jervis Tetch

Jervis is silent, staring at the notecard blankly. His lips twitch in a smile, then a frown, then his lips thinned. He took a deep breath, before looking up, his eyes sad - but his smile soft. “Alice Tetch… Alice Tetch is the one person I would choose. Not Johnathan, not my parents, but Alice.”

Ocean: Do you take yearly vacations?

Jervis Tetch

“Yes. Every year I go to Swindon, England and Point Pleasant, West Virgina. My hometown, and where my best friend lives. In Swindon, I go to one of the gay bars I used to work at do I could buy Alice, and myself food when father wasn’t the most sober… The drag queens and owners supported and listened like a second family should. They helped me understand what I was trying to suppress for so long, and made me realize that it was a thing to embrace. West Virgina, however, was the place where I was going through a dark time. I don’t know if I would still be here without them.”

“Hatter taking too much control, running out of prescriptions, remembering terrible things that are always in the back of my mind, and losing my sense of reality. Basically, losing things, or getting too much of them.”

Seeing my reflection or mirrors in a dark room, poisonous spiders, people finding out something they shouldn’t about me, and disappointing people I want to make proud.

Madeline tilted her head, her smile slightly slipping. She had forgotten how childhood was a sensitive topic among most rogues. Madeline was never shy about hers, but the starlight clearly wasn't eager to trade funny childhood memories.

"Oh, I apologise I just wanted to talk about hobbies you might've had growing up." Madeline started, hopping to ease back from her fopa. "Personally, i've always liked baking and reading, you?"

Hopefully a step back would put her good graces and ease the girls suspicion, afterall when one flounders a step closer to the shore is wise.

It was a topic she had avoided like the plague for most of her adult life. In interviews with greedy reporters, begging for just a taste of what it must have been like to grow up as her, and in therapy, with greedier psychiatrists desperate to know what it was like to never grow up. What it must have done to her, what must have happened to her, in those few formative years. Now, her upper lip curled.

“And what would you like to talk about?” she asked, raising her eyebrows. “You wanna sit around and talk about how Mommy never gave us enough attention, or how Daddy never connected?” She’d been scrolling idly through her phone and now went back to it, snorted in derision. “I didn’t even go to a real school, if that’s what you were looking to bond over.
