Last Thurs evening (8th June 2022), I attended the opening of Comhghall Casey's exhition 'New Work' held at the Solomon Gallery, Balfe St. Dub 2. Comhghall's paintings were easy on the eye. The venue was busy with a relaxed atmosphere. Comhghall's exhition will run until 2nd July.
Tonight, I attended the opening of 'Yan', at the Taylor Gallery. Nine artists are exhibiting work ranging from paintings on paper and plywood, collages and a few sculptural poeces. I loved John Graham's grid images with their combinations of vertical and horizontal lines and enjoyed Jin Hirosawa's colourful paintings for their humour. 'Yan' will run until 22nd Feb 2020 at the Taylor Galleries, Kildare St., Dublin.
Classy.
Stephanie Hess at Solomon
Tonight, I attended the opening of Stephanie Hess's exhibition called 'A Day At The Zoo' at Solomon Fine Art, 2 Balfe Street, Dublin 2, D02 T802 next to the Westbury Hotel. I particularly like the straightforward theme of her exhibition; all about spending a day at Dublin Zoo. Her pieces had their own charm and character. My favorite was piece was 'Pretty in Pink' which featured a flamingo. Stephanie's exhibition will continue on to Sat 22nd June 2024.

Last Wednesday, I popped into Ranelagh Arts Centre to see Anna Hryniewiczβs colourful paintings. I remember most Annaβs combination of bright yellow and a deep fluorescent pink in many of her paintings. Annaβs preoccupations with Astronomy and childrenβs daydreaming stayed with me. At least, that was how I interpreted the titles which she gave to her paintings. Going to her exhibition was worth the walk. Classy.
Tonight I attended the packed opening of Mairead O'hEocha's exhibition 'Tale Ends & Eternal Wakes' at the Temple Bar Gallery. There was an interesting mix of drawings and paintings of various animals on display from bird to monkeys. Mairead's latest exhibition relates to her fascination with the Natural History Museum, Dublin or Dead Zoo. Her exhibition will run until April 25th 2020 at the Temple Bar Gallery 5 - 9 Temple Bar, Dublin 2.

Tonight, I attended the opening of Gary Coyle's exhibition 'Dreaming Different Dreams' at the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery. His dark gray and detailed drawings are full of atmosphere in a dreamy sense. Tonight they stood out from the pink wall paintings behind and around them. The juxtaposition of dark grey and bright pink created an interesting scene. Gary's exhibition will run until the 28th March 2020 at the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Chancery Lane, Dublin 8.

Salvatore of Lucan at Kevin Kavanagh
Tonight, I attended the opening of Salvatore's exhibition at Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Chancery Lane, Dublin 8. The event was well attended and had a lively atmosphere.
Salvatore's paintings came in different shapes and sizes. One painting called 'Tiny Nude' was just 5 cm x 5 cm. My favourite painting was shaped like a heart with the title 'Heart Shaped Canvas'. Its subject matter featuring a bottom was simple and clever. Another painting which was circular had what I considered the humorous title of 'Mother With A Bad Back'. Most of Salvatore's paintings formated in the usual rectangles and squares measured up to 150 cm x 150 cm. His exhibition called 'Fancy Situations will run until 29th June 2024.
