I Am Sick Of People Sugar Coating The Education Crisis Of American Adults. It Is Killing Us. It Is Killing

I am sick of people sugar coating the education crisis of American Adults. It is killing us. It is killing the world. Being nice about the fact that half of adults would struggle to read harry potter is going end us up dead as a species.

I am sick of losers jumping in to defend adults who don’t read books. Adults who don’t seek out news. I don’t give a fuck about their feelings. I don’t give a fuck if this makes them feel embarrassed and ashamed. They should feel that.

The stupidity of adults are poisoning our children. They are not raising well rounded kids. This is the time to stop the drain before it’s too late.

No guys you don’t understand the removal of uterus havers’ rights is a warm up for Real People Who We Actually Care About losing *their* rights. This is why it’s vital that we act now before the damage that’s done actually starts to matter. Also don’t forget that baby incubators are NOT a cohesive oppressed class with anything in common with one another that can be described with one simple word and if you suggest otherwise you’re no better than the people who are restricting the autonomy of birthing bodies!!

Hey, take it from someone creeping towards 40:

Ignore the fun police.

If you like it, order your steak well done. Get your bagel toasted with jam and butter. Put ice in your scotch and ketchup on your hotdog. Get red wine with fish and white with steak. Who cares?

If you want to, listen to pop music. Watch blockbuster popcorn flicks. Read dime store novels. Enjoy them.

Dye your hair or cut it off. Paint your fingernails blue. Wear whatever the fuck you want on your own time (ie, when not at a job or school or whatever where you can get penalized for breaking rules) as long as you aren’t like welding or shoveling snow.

Anyone who tries to tell you you’re wrong? Say “okay” and go back to what you were doing. You’re not hurting them by enjoying yourself or having things the way you like them.

There are no caveats or addendums to this. No “but what about x?” Nah. You’re allowed the things you like. You don’t have to justify your taste or apologize for it if it’s not hurting anyone.

And likewise, let other people live their lives. We’re all dead in the long run, so tend your own garden before you become fertilizer in it.

"I'm not a woman, I'm just a person"

Women are people, being a woman is being a person, we are not an alien or some kind of strange invention. Women are people, being a woman is being a person.

People giving JKR shit for Cho Chang will never not be annoying to me as an actual Chinese person. The thing about Chinese is that there is no perfect way to transliterate it into English, as the two languages are just too different from each other. And while there are more common romanization systems than others, ultimately it's up to the discretion of the individual person for how they want to transliterate Chinese into English. In the Chinese editions of HP, Cho's name is 张秋, which would most commonly be romanized as Zhang Qiu (East Asian names are written surname first, given name second). However, it's completely reasonable to assume that Cho's parents simply decided to romanize her name differently because they personally felt that Cho gets the pronunciation across better than Qiu. I've known plenty of Chinese people, and also people whose languages do not use the Latin alphabet in general, who spell their names in English differently from how the more standard transliterations would spell it, just because of their personal preference. If anything it's no different than Catherine vs. Katherine, so trying to use Cho as a gotcha against JKR is not only annoying and nit-picky, it's also just ignorant. Which I suppose goes for a lot of the criticism against her.

wow this is a great insight, thanks anon

"Defining women as "adult human females" is so limiting"

Literally how? It's just defining the most basic physical traits, and you have complete freedom from there. "Adult human female" prescribes nothing about personality, interests, values, style, talents, skills, careers, or capabilities. Defining womanhood or non-womanhood as a feeling based on stereotypes of gender, meanwhile, is EXACTLY what I'd call "limiting."

who are you when you are not watching tv or movies? when you aren't playing video games or reading a book or fanfiction or listening to music or whatever other kind of media that you engage with? who are you when your mind isn't in another world or story, when you are forced to sit with yourself and the only experience you have is your own sensorial life? can you define yourself outside of what you consume? who is that person? do you like them? can you bear it? can you bear it?

It’s fascinating to me that gendies often accuse radical feminists/TERFs of being in a cult, when in fact control of information is actually one of the key indicators of a cult as identified by the BITE model.

They think we’re the cult but they’re the ones trying to control information?

Someone Was Asking About Gender-critical Ideology And Seemed Genuine, So I Went To Their Blog And Saw

Someone was asking about gender-critical ideology and seemed genuine, so I went to their blog and saw this ask. And like..."just doing research" is cult recruitment now? Is science in general now propaganda for the TERF lobby??

Solving violence against trans people seems to include the same solutions as solving violence against most other people: housing, safe spaces to go in uncertain times, gun regulations.
