I Read It. It’s Lovely!

I read it. It’s lovely!

Hello there! Happy Spring! I’ve spent almost the last year working on a Good Omens AU and was hoping to share it here. I also wanted to shout about how wonderful the readers have been. This fandom is amazing. Thanks for what you do to keep everyone informed of the great stories out there.

The fic is finally complete. It’s a fake marriage fic with Aziraphale as a romance author and Crowley as his gardener. Crowley is demisexual.

Congratulations! I do hope you are proud of yourself!

and now all of my garden is grown in lavender by ilikeblue for the_moonmoth [Rated E, 72K words]

Popular queer romance author, A.Z. Fell, has been lying about having a husband and a happy marriage for years. Longing to escape a string of failed relationships and looking for a fresh start, Aziraphale moves into the cottage left to him by his Great Aunt Agnes. When a TV adaptation of one of his books leads to sudden popularity and throws him into the limelight, his fans (and the press) are eager to catch a glimpse of Aziraphale's own mysterious leading man. Unfortunately, he still has to cast someone for that role. Enter the handsome gardener…

Under Crowley's meticulous care the cottage's neglected garden slowly comes back to life, and Aziraphale finds himself writing the most important love story he'll ever write: his own

Drop of water in my garden
The morning after. Camping with friends. Yes the bottle of wine is the center piece. Obviously :D.
Playing board games
There is always something interesting to find on a beach
Just the moon doing what it does - shining. In this case over an arctic sea and maybe making a path into other worlds
Setting sun flaming up the clouds over a mighty river in Iceland

I really like the idea of Crowley changing up his wings every once in a while. Mostly just because I find a ridiculous amount of joy in drawing black wings with red lines. And I haven’t been able to get the idea of Crowley with albatross wings out of my head since first watching it, so I might as well throw in some others too.

None of these have good quality in the first place, but you can click the bottom ones to slightly improve what little there is

Image: A cavernous laboratory filled with sinister outdated equipment, pickled organs, a pentagram and a corpse on a slab. Outside the window, bats fly past the moon while at a desk an angry-looking woman with crazed hair and a lab coat writes in a ledger. Caption: Janet had not imagined that being an evil scientist would involve so much evil paperwork.

“We are here, and this is now.” Constable Visit, a strict believer in the Omnian religion, occasionally quoted that from their holy book. Vimes understood it to mean, in less exalted copper speak, that you have to do the job that is in front of you.

Title: The Thorougly Engrossing Novel. Panel one: Our hero (a pinkish egg-shaped blob with stick arms and legs) briskly walks along reading his book but - OH NO! - he is just about to walk of a cliff! Panel Two: He has gone over the cliff!! As he falls towards heaven-knows-what, his attention is still fully engaged by his book. Panels Three and Four: he has landed in the ocean and is carried out to sea. He is still reading the book as he vanishes from sight. Panels Five and Six: Some time later, our hero is washed up in a sandy cove. The tide gently nudges him up the beach as lies on his back reading. A concerned passer-by asks "Are you ok?" and he replies "Yes, just finishing my book". Panel seven: The book finished, he strides manfully off the beach and up a hill towards a bookshop. Panel eight: Our hero, having visited the shop, now briskly walks along reading his NEW book but - OH NO! - he is just about to walk of a cliff!

My cartoon for this week’s Guardian Books.
