Bowynn Gods: Boquinn

Bowynn Gods: Boquinn

Boquinn (Bow-kwin)  (also Soquinn) The Boquinn are the Bowynn are Kii giants of the forests and mountains and the protectors of them. Boquinn are hairy ape-like spirits, they are often solitary wanderers of the unlike other Kii that often work together. They were created by Brand to keep the woodlands safe from Mano’s wrath and pranks and the destructiveness of the Tii. Unlike other Kii, they do not speak like humans but more like animals. Legends say that for a person to see a Boquinn, will bring the person great blessings. The Boquinn are in general, peaceful, unless people get too close. When a Boquinn does present itself as vicious, it is normally a warning that some great change is about to take place that will disrupt their homeland.

A Prayer, A Spell, A Curse

May the immortal gods one and all,

From axis to axis, from pole to pole.

From the heavens above, to far below.

Red face demon you have been charged guilty

Guilty from crimes against the gods, spirits and humanity,

So hear me gods far and near

I cast this spell to restore balance and to abolish fear

This spell has no reason nor want to come back to me

For what I cast is justifiable and will never harm me.

With your help O gods this Spell I bestow.

Make its strong, make it impervious make it so.

Protect the children of love and peace,

From the Abrahamic demon's destructive feast.

Smite the red face demons' evil wherever they stand,

Remove them all from our beloved mortal land

And where once where red demons walked this land

Replace them all with love and compassion I demand

Evil and hatred I now bend and control

I send you back to Hell's infernal hall!

Satan's evil son I now control and command

I remove you and yours from this mortal land.

Death to you red faced monster of evil and plight

I vanquish you with this spell I cast this night.

Back to hell you go from where you were sired

Back to Hell and Satan's brimstone fire.

And for every milli-ounce of harm you create,

100x100 fold will come back to you. This I dictate!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Bowynn Gods: Kara Jarra

The Sister's Jarra

Kara Jarra  (Khar-rha Jar-rha)  Karra Jarra, or just Kara is the Bowynn goddess of health. In particular, she is the goddess that précised over the arts of physical healing, such as Massage, Reiki, Gateway healing and reflexology. She is the daughter of the god Owenn and one triplet daughters, often called 'The Sisters Jarra," meaning the sister healers. He is the patroness of nurses, physical therapists and those that practice such healing arts that are attributed to her.

Karra and her sisters have no real sacred stories of their past deeds, save for the 7 sacred days they spent with the first tribes of mankind, sharing with them, their knowledge. Karra in particular showed the tribes how to heal damages to the body by massages and reiki, how to turn use pressure points to relieve pain and how to treat the body while it is healing When not at her father's side, Karra is seen in temples, houses of healing, and sweat lodges helping as she can the injured. Karra is often seen with the goddess Nyalla Bua in sauna and sweat lodge shrines.

As with all three Sisters Jarra, Kara is a young goddess in appearance, with white-ish blond hair braided back with ribbons. Simple clothing and a fillet wrapped about her brow. She is often seen with a small slender board in her hands called a "Peer" which is used as a massage implement. Infact a traditional offering to Karra by those healing by such means will offer an elaborate Jeer that is wrapped with fillets and ribbons. Naturally incense is a most honored offering and votive birds also make the best gifts.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: Holy Book

QUESTION: Is there a type of holy book like a Bible or Koran in the Bowynn tradition?

ANSWER: Up until 2003 there was no such text, though many of us wrote down the information we had experienced and we would share it amongst each other. Eventually its was condenced into one binder that circulated between all of us. At the time we had 22 members strong. In late 2003 The Bowynn "Codex" was formed. It contains information on the gods, as well as all meditations, ceremonies, rituals and rites. The Codex is NOT a Myst's [witch's] book.

QUESTION AND ANSWER: MYST WEAR

Question: Does a Bowynn Myst wear any particular clothing/garb like wiccan witches do?

Answer: A Myst wears whatever they are comfortable in. Most will wear at least one garment that matches their person element. (Blue / turquoise for water mysts, reds and oranges for fire mysts) Some mysts do design a special wardrobe (put together) for special events or when they plan an all day magic working. Pointy hats and long black robes are not traditionally what a Myster would wear. Though they would wear black if casting curses and hexes, and attuning to the universal sky.

A Deeper Look into the God Aetenn

The symbolism surrounding Aetenn reveals profound layers of meaning, tightly entwined with esoteric principles and numerical significance. The ram, a recurring symbol in various mythologies, connects to themes of strength and assertiveness (often associated with the astrological sign Aries), but its horns can also symbolize stability and grounding—attributes that are essential for any protector or guardian. The duality of his nature as a guardian rather than a warrior suggests a transition from aggression (often represented by the warrior archetype) to stewardship, which can be explored through concepts like the Fibonacci sequence; just as this mathematical series illustrates growth and balance, Aetenn embodies the necessity of nurturing potential (the arms and armor of warriors) while safeguarding community.

Aetenn, as the guardian of arms, armor, and forest, embodies a unique synthesis of protection and communal harmony, reflecting deeper philosophical and psychological themes. His role as a protector rather than a warrior suggests an exploration of the concept of "strength through restraint"—the idea that true power lies not just in wielding weapons, but in guarding what is valuable and ensuring the readiness of warriors to engage ethically in their pursuits. This notion connects with the idea of inner peace before external action, highlighting the importance of mindfulness and preparedness.

The forest environment Aetenn inhabits symbolizes life’s complexities and the untamed aspects of nature, suggesting that protection extends beyond martial prowess to encompass nurturing the environment and community bonds. His drumming connection reinforces the theme of communication and rhythm in relationships—both human and nature, further emphasizing the interconnectedness of all beings. The rhythmic beat of drums can symbolize the heartbeat of the Earth itself, emphasizing the importance of maintaining harmony with one’s surroundings.

Additionally, the black berry wreath can be interpreted as a symbol of cycles—birth, death, and renewal—since berries signify nourishment but also decay. This cyclical nature could reflect the life of soldiers, who thrive under protection but also face the threats of mortality and transformation. Aetenn's guardianship over what is most prized underscores the significance of mindful intention in one's desires, serving as a reminder that safeguarding what one values often requires discernment and respect for the greater good.

The black berry leaves, adorned with thorns, contribute a rich layer of esoteric meaning associated with protection through hardship. This paradox reflects alchemical transformations, where something seemingly harmful can protect and empower—much like the journey through the "prima materia" to reach enlightenment. The act of guarding only what one values aligns with the principle of intention found in manifesting one's desires. This notion resonates with the Law of Correspondence in hermetic teachings, implying that one's inner state reflects their external reality.

Furthermore, the drumming aspect connects Aetenn with rhythm and vibration, fundamental elements of sacred geometry and sound healing, resonating with a numerical symbology in sacred chants or mantras that establish communion. The significance of drums as a communication tool echoes the mathematical concept of frequency and waves, where harmony can signify balance in both the physical and spiritual realms. Thus, Aetenn serves as a multifaceted archetype, embodying the necessity of protection, the complexity of nature's cycles, and the essential connection between intention and manifestation in the spiritual fabric of existence.

Exploring Aetenn through a deeper lens, one can uncover fascinating intersections between his symbolism and scientific principles, particularly in ecology, psychology, and the study of sound. As a forest god, Aetenn embodies the principles of ecosystems where interdependence is crucial; his guardianship can be likened to the role of keystone species in sustaining biodiversity. This speaks to the hidden meaning of protecting not just individual aspects of society (like warriors and their weapons) but the entire web of life, emphasizing the importance of ecological balance and resilience.

In psychological terms, Aetenn might represent archetypal concepts that resonate within the collective unconscious. As a protector and guardian, he aligns with the Jungian idea of the "Self" as a harmonious balance of different aspects of the psyche. The caring nature of his duties could suggest the psychological principle of empowerment, where true strength lies in fostering the potential of others rather than exerting control or dominance, reflecting a more nurturing approach to leadership.

Scientifically, the drums associated with Aetenn can be examined through the lens of acoustics and vibration. The rhythmic patterns of drumming are known to influence brainwaves, promoting sensation alteration, introspection, and communal bonding—facilitating group cohesion and shared identity among communities, which is essential in military contexts. This reinforces deep cultural bonds and emphasizes the interconnectivity among its members, paralleling the principles of quantum entanglement in physics—where everything is interconnected at a fundamental level.

The Elements / Tau Retammas

The Elements / Tau Retammas

Balance / Bia

The final and uppermost point on the Numatam is Bia {Balance}. Blanace is the inter-connectivity of all things to each other and how they balance each other out. Without Balance, chaos would take over. Like-wise, withing Chaos, Order would become overwhelming bring no excitement. Bia was and is the great creator, Unification, Endings and beginnings, Duality, Action and Reaction, Force, Power, the force of life and the divine creator of karmic law and balance Bia itself. It's from Bia all things came to be - Gods and mortality alike. So, it is from the element of Balance that we learn balance itself. That we cannot have one without the other. We learn of Yin & Yang, Polarity and Duality. We learn that we sometimes need the help of an opposite. Without the villain, we cannot have the Hero. Without a beginning cannot enjoy the ending accomplishment. Bia is the blank canvas and the completed picture. The front cover of a book to its back cover. Bia is the collective of ingredients and the completed meal. We create, learn and nurture from Bia. And we learn that everything in the world and the universe is ruled by the balance of Bia's law. Being that Bia ‘was’ before everything else, Bia is the great unseen and therefore the path to balance is a path of mysterious black. Bia {Balance} has no fixed "Station" as it's something that IS all around and all encompassing. Its rules all the other elemental stations: The growth and decay of the forest, the head of the river and its dwindled creeks, The burning flame and its soot. The gale of a wind down to its breeze, the day and the night. Bia teaches us NOTHING is forever and there is balance in all things, even if we do not also see it. The path of Bia is black, wrapped in shadow and mystery but it is never a path to be feared. It’s the path of creation and change.

Bowynn Gods: Naea

Bowynn Gods: Naea

Naea  (Nay-ah)  Naea is the Bowynn goddess of springs, wells, lakes, rivers, streams and other small fresh bodies of water. She is the daughter of Tane and Kauldra and is one of the very few multi arm gods. As such she is a spider goddess. Her multi limbs represent the many rivers of the world.      Naea is a free spirited goddess, spending much of her time wandering the sides of wells and ponds and weaving away in her godly or animal form on the side of streams and rivers. Her prime domain is to make sure such bodies of water are protected from pollutants and destruction as much as possible. As such, Naea is one of the very few gods of the Bowynn pantheon to seek revenge on mortals that destroy her realm. One sacred story speaks of the fisherman that was so filled with joy when he caught a fish as soon as his hook hit the water. He became so happy that he kept fishing till the lake was depleted of fish. Naea found out about this and that night as he and his family gorged out on the fish the man caught, there was a knock on the door of a beggar woman. She asked for a fish to get her by. The man and woman gave her the smallest fish in the batch, so small it would not fill a cat. The old woman ended up being Naea and for the couple's lack of moderation and charity, Naea made all the other food in the house disappear till all that was left saw the fish. The couple quickly became sick of eating fish all the time and thus learned their lesson. There are many legends of mortals abusing wells and springs then suffering Naea’s wrath but never death.      Despite this and other such sacred tales Naea is not a vicious goddess. Infact she is a most gentle goddess. She only seeks out those that have done wrong with her gifts. So, she should not be feared. Other times she is most giving, as the sacred stories of her creating a well for a family that had nothing to drink for days. Because of her watery realm, Naea's temples are often nothing more than a well surrounded by a gazebo.      Naea is depicted in her godly immortal form as a delightful young woman with long flowing hair. Her garments are of blues, purples and greens and silver or glass baubles as jewelry. Sometimes she is seen with a pitcher of fresh water and other times with a loom. In her totem form Naea is seen as an elegant spider. Sacred gifts to Naea come in the form of glass pieces, fresh water, river and lake plants and flowers, spoons of white and blue yarn and votive images of a spider.

Bowynn Gods: Istra

Bowynn Gods: Istra
Bowynn Gods: Istra
Bowynn Gods: Istra

Istra  (Is-tra)  Istra is the Goddess of the 3 fold law, respect, retribution and lawful vengeance. She sits on the left hand of her mother Rhya; her father being Anhur. Istra is the sister of Ion and together they guard over the sacred laws of Bia and the laws of their father, given to mankind. She is not a vengeful nor destructive goddess. In fact, she is rarely seen, only stepping forward to people who call to her help who have suffered great injustice by the acts of others. If the mortal asks her to help them, they must be completely innocent and have been wronged by others. Istra will then seek out those that have hurt said person unjustly and bring balance to the damage that was done. However, if the person who calls to her is lying, Istra will see through the person and purge him with ill times.

Istra is something of a huntress. But instead of animals, she hunts wrong doers. It is said her sword and arrows do not kill. They have been blessed by Bia and so, when her sword or arrows strike her target, the arrows bring about the justice so fitting the person's crime. Tales of Istra’s justifiable powers are endless. Yet none ever talk about bringing about death. To Istra, death is a coward’s way out of receiving the 3-fold law. Even those that commit murder. If death does come to a person that Istra is asked to hunt, it is not by her doing. Some question if the goddess every does what others pray to her for, when it seems people get away with so much bad things. To this the goddess Istra said that justice will always come in time.

Despite her attributes, Istra is not a fearsome goddess. In fact, those that have been graced by her divine presence, describe her as most beautiful, long jet black hair and emerald green eyes. Her garment, bow, arrows and circlet are golden. When not seen in her immortal form, she takes the form of a butterfly, her totem. All truly offered gifts are welcomed by Istra: food, flora, flame, votive and more. It is also highly suggested that receive Istra's help, that it be followed up with a plethora of offerings and a card or script of thanks.

The Bowynn Gods: Bia

(This listing starts with the 7 great divinities of Creation. The Creatrix that was at the beginning. After the 7, all other gods will be listed in alphabetical order.)

The Bowynn Gods: Bia

"Creation / Hand of Bia" - created by D. Kzmarinski 1984 - 26"x34"

Bia  (By-ah)  - In the great Bowynn tale of Creation, Bia emerged from the reign of nothingness. Bia was not so much a deity as much as being a personification of creation. Bia represents creation, the force and balance of all things. Without Bia there is only chaos. It was the emergence of Bia that put an end to emptiness, the chaos and vanquished the never ending “Mist”. From Bia was born the first gods. Bia is the very element of 'Balance.'

From Bia the first gods of creation were born: Paut, Tya, Ohenn, Brea, Unthar, Sumon, Phoenix, , and musch leter Daeth and Tora, Saul and Shayla, Maeanna and the three sisters, the Ano Taya.

Bia is the most sacred of all of the divine in the Bowynn tradition. Even the gods themselves including Anhur, bow down and give honor to Bia. In the Bowynn tradition, Bia can take the shape and/or voice of anything it please, thereby Bia was able to set down laws and judgments, and still does. There are some who solely devoted to Bia and Bia’s powers. They spend their lives in constant pursuit of attaining the goals that Bia set. Others just give Bia the most respect and live their lives in balance.

Bia has no true form as the other immortals. Bia takes the form of all and none. Therefore, Bia takes no one side. Bia is neither male nor female, mostly depicted just as a hand, as it places the stars and plants in the universal space. Bia is the perfect balance. Being that Bia is everything and is all about, all things are sacred to Bia. So many different types of offerings are sent but the most popular is simply incense or lit candle.

(Equivalent would be Khaos, Ptah, the Abrahamic "God" and other divine beings of creation.)
