On Father's Day and Mother's Day, Nya and Lloyd give Kai his favorite buns to congratulate the man who raised them and always supported them.

i really love the ninjago movie the most. u know why? Because Lloyd is the happiest and he allows himself to be himself, if that makes any sense. i mean, i do love the series, but just, lloyd deserves a happiness without constant trauma 🫠

and just wanting to draw green bean, i ended up drawing the whole team. which took me almost two weeks. yeah.

So in Season 4 when Chen uses the staff, it doesn’t seem to effect him. No glowing eyes, no change in behavior or personality, nothing. He remains exactly the the same no matter how many more elements he hordes in it.

Yet almost as soon as Kai touched it, he falls under some type of corruption — red eyes and all — and the hidden envy he’s been harboring is brought to the surface, causing an inner fight control to ensue, which Kai loses. His flaws are then amplified to such an extreme that Kai is no longer even the same person, and may as well just be another Chen.

My point is, the Staff had no effect on Chen because he was already that vile and power hungry. It literally couldn’t make him more twisted than he already was.

So I think it speaks huge volume on how good of a person Kai actually is by this point for the Staff’s power to warp his personality and flaws so far into such an unrecognizable state.

Listen… Yes, Kai is irritable, snarky, and altruistic to the point of being reckless. But he’s… Not really a hothead. 

Like yeah, Kai get’s angry, understandable, he’s the embodiment of his element, but for the most part, Kai is a mild-mannered, soft spoken kid who at least tries to talk his way out of things.

I can’t speak for later seasons, since I haven’t seen past s10, (but that doesn’t really matter since he’s gotten little to no development since then) looking at older ones? Like s4? Kai for the most part is agreeable and does his best to work with the elementals, even being the inciting incident which causes the ninja to even consider teaming up with them.

Generally Kai is more uh… Clever than hotheaded.

I guess some might argue that his recklessness is his hotheadedness, but I don’t think i would agree with that? One of Kai’s biggest character flaws is that he rushes into things, but 90% of the time it’s driven by Kai’s protective instinct, not anger.

I mean. I’ll still label him as a hothead, just because it’s funny and it’s not entirely an insult. Just an observation that it’s… not entirely accurate.

So ninjago finally ended. Had to make a quick sketch to celebrate since I've been following the show for nearly a decade now. Congrats to it for being the first franchise I ever remember making fanart of.

if you had the chance to redo kai and jay's fight in seabound,how would you do it?

firstly, I would keep the fighting. but i'd make it LONGER. kai and jay would fight, but they'd argue alongside it too. i need to kai to say "she's my sister jay," PUNCH "i loved her so fvking much too" KICK and then i need kai to shed some tears and then i like to think his power is kinda linked to his emotions so he's crying and the flames are getting bigger and bigger and kai's winning the fight and then yk more arguing and tears and angst because im insane and then:

i need water nya to address jay AND kai. the fact that she only addressed jay HURT ME IN WAYS I CANNOT EXPRESS.

Of COURSE you have fire powers, some kind of tear-jerking motivation, and a fan favorite
