Bayverse Leo and Sheets

See the thing that annoys me the most about Bayverse Leo’s energy is he’s the type of guy that could not only put on a fitted sheet with absolutely no problem at all but also FOLD them perfectly as well. I don’t know if he watched video on how to do it or just through insane unholy amounts of repetition he somehow honed his skill (because Mr. Perfect needs to be “perfect” in ALL things. And that includes bedding and whatever. But it would be like the cleanest folds with the crispest lines and everything, like it came straight from the package. And he’d do it completely from muscle memory because he’s ridiculously trained like that.

And you KNOW he would be so smug about it too. He’d catch you looking with your mouth slightly agape, eyebrows raised and I know, I know, it would stroke his ego something fierce seeing you impressed like that. But he’d just try to hide his smirk with a small shake of his head and offer to teach you if he’d like. How much y'all wanna bet he can do origami with like towels and sheets and stuff he’s just THAT extra?

Also some chocolate milk thoughts (18+) about what I would say to Leo in this regards if I wasn’t a coward.

The eye of the hurricane. I like to think Cassandra sometimes called the brothers by the nicknames their dad used, given they were probably pretty close before his passing.

Man oh man, this one was way messier and off model than my last few updates but whatever, we got to keep this ball rolling! Life's been crazy so I've had to take some unwanted breaks in between updates. Thanks everyone for your patience as always!

One thing I wanted in this flashback was to really get a sense of how the brothers worked as an experienced team with Leo at the helm as a proper leader. It's something we never got to see much of in Rise and I felt it was important to include since half the team is already gone by the time of Replica. Team Dynamics Ted Talk under the cut!

We know from Casey Jr that Leo stressed the importance of listening to your team. A big part of that also means knowing how to communicate with them in general.

With Michelangelo, he keeps it short and succinct, trusting his brother to know what he's doing when in his element. This trust goes a long way with Mikey, having spent years of his youth as the baby striving for the respect he felt he deserved. Leo knows it's best to not bog Mikey down with details, allowing him to improvise as needed. This unspoken freedom has only grown over time as Mikey has dipped deeper into spiritual arts that, frankly, go completely over Leo's head.

The greatest sacrifice Leo has ever made was read Donnie's Big Book of Bad Guy Codes. While he doesn't remember ALL the numbers, he has memorized the ones that matter and it has helped tremendously in avoiding miscommunication with his genius brother. More importantly it silenced any of Donnie's usual belly-aching. As Leo's "twin"/"equal" the two still butt heads from time to time. Donnie respects his brother's authority (mostly) but will still push the boundaries of what he's allowed on a semi-regular basis. Give Donnie an inch and he will take the mile and then find a loop hole that allows him to go twenty miles more. This is partially due to him often being the one left behind at HQ, making the turtle just a TAD stir crazy. Leo does his best to keep him in line regardless.

Big brother Raph will forever and always be big brother to Leo. As such he holds a place of authority in Leo's heart and is someone he still regularly seeks counsel from in both the ways of leadership and more. Raph is always happy to support his younger brother and does a surprisingly good job (albeit after years of practice) of walking the line so as not to step on his brother's toes in the process. At least not since the secret of "the Key" blew up in their faces several years ago. They don't talk about that anymore. Leo is the leader now and he's done a great job in recent years as far as Raph is concerned. He trusts him to make the right call. The two have a close bond and regularly use mind meld to quickly communicate rather than speak ...this will be important to remember for the future.

Hope that overall feeling came through for this group!

I can't not tell you the amount of rage I feel after drawing this. Lee from Bayverse movies is my least favorite turtle and the fact he came out decently well BUGS me like none other.

THIS👆🏼👆🏼👆🏼 right here is I why I love the boys so much. For the longest time I struggled with the belief that I was only important or had value if I could do something to help other people. If I wasn’t “producing” or being a boone in every situation, then I literally felt like nothing. If something wrong happened, than it was instantly my fault because I wasn’t good enough.

For YEARS I’ve wrestled with this internal self loathing, but for the first time ever…I’m growing out of that? There’s a “Sprout” of hope if you will. That’s what these stories mean to me: Hope🧡🌱

I can learn to love myself with all my “kinds of special” and with that love help others recognize their own awesomeness. i find it interesting that both Omega and Speout are buddies. Because Omega in the Greek alphabet is the last letter, and he was kind of designed with the intent to be the last one standing. But “standing” next to “Sprout” who is the embodiment of taking what was left before and growing into something new, is kinda lowkey poetically beautiful for me. A literal example of the beginning AND the end. and goodness is it inspiring. I’m so grateful to be alive at the same time as the great minds of @kathaynesart and @intotheelliwoods

I have been meaning to do a crossover with the one and only @kathaynesart for such a long time! And the @tmntaucompetition has created the perfect excuse for this :)

I think Sprout and Omega would have a surprising amount in common, they have a lot they can talk about with one another!

This One’s For The Boys

For my guys, my dudes, my broskis, my mates, my pals, and most importantly, my friends

The Sunshine Boys: those who are so good it's kinda hard to believe they actually exist. Not a mean bone in their body. Always got something nice to say. Works quietly in the background, but is always there for you. Smiles are literally blinding; so full of sunshine goodness and light. Honestly just makes your heart warm to see them again. Life is better simply because they light up every single life they touch, and just like the sun, you desperately miss the warmth of their soul and wholesome character when they are gone. Also somehow also a living golden retriever???

The Cinnamon Roll Boys: boys too sweet and wholesome for this world. May or may not give you a cavity. Always spending time in the kitchen thinking about what new masterpieces they want to create. Secret quiet confidence. A real classic gentleman. The type of boy your momma would love, and your siblings want to be their brother. Strong desire to squish face cheeks because they've got that strong baby energy.  Always there with a smile, a hug and a warm plate of homemade cookies. Compassionate to the max, they just wanna share that goodness with everybody. Always makes you feel welcome and part of the family. Best Friend Material hands down, so he will tease. You have been warned. 

The Adventure Boys: Makes everything seem like a grand adventure. Excitedly grabs your hand with a reckless grin, bright eyes and pulls you into whatever form of mischief they're currently up to. Karaoke jam sessions in the car, late-night food runs, stickers and memorabilia of every trip. Doesn't take pictures as much as they probably should because they're always too caught up in the moment. A little reckless, making your heart race just a little, but heart of gold because they just want to experience the world with you. Every adventure becomes a fond memory with soft but often exasperated smiles. 

The Grass Boys: Quiet soft boys who feel more comfortable out in the sun or up in a tree somewhere. Fantastic listener, wicked observant, probably a closet nerd, but is an engaging story teller once you get to know him. Messy hair always up in a baseball cap with golden skin that's been kissed from adventures out in the sun all day. Has fingers and shoes stained with something he's working on. The handyman, knows oodles of random facts and probably could fix anything if you give enough time and a little bit of duct tape. Dad  in training. Not afraid to take the lead when needed to, but always going to make sure your voice has been included. 100% would be the type to dance in the rain with you. 

The Fire Boys: Boys with boisterous voices and quick tongues whose passions blaze within their hearts. Intense and a little in your face, but they just can't hold back how much they feel. Never afraid to stand up for what they believes in and is loyal almost to a fault. Will fight you and for you. Stubborn and doesn't back down, always wanting to find justice for the world because just wants to make it better. Sometimes anger runs away from him, and worlds may burn a little, but there will be nowhere safer than in the warmth of this boy's hug. 

To all the boys, I'm sorry that we live in a world where your thoughts and feelings have been dismissed and made trivial. 

You are important. You are needed. Your influence is making a difference and the world needs more goodness like you. 

From a girl who sees you, is proud of your efforts and loves you from a distance for the wonderful person that you are.

Sorry to randomly drop in, but I was listening to a playlist today and the song “We are Number One” from LazyTown of all things came on, and I just stopped and stared at the wall for a moment because I realized that THAT was what your art sounds like to me, specifically your Donnie. I know that sounds so so so weird and I’m sorry for how random it is, but the synesthesia was very persistent and thought you’d be interested in knowing about it. AnYwHizZlE, I hope you know how much I absolutely cherish your art, like it makes me silly grin every time I see it and I desperately want to squish your version of the boys in bear hugs till their eyes bug out like dog toys because they are just so scrunchable you know? You’re art is cool, you are cool and you seem the type of person who I would make the sickest bestie and so I sincerely wish you the best of luck and respectable love to you and your corner of the world today! 🧡🫡

I'm happy my art can bring you joy! When I was in high school, I wanted nothing more than to be a serious artist who only made serious top of the line drawings, because that's what I thought I had to progress to if I really liked art, and that really killed my passion to just create what I liked.

I like shenanigans! I love fun, silly drawings with big energy and loud characters, I love colors and shapes and making people laugh!
