Ok but imagine Ty accidently getting sent back in time and seeing pre shadowhunter Kit again and not being able to talk to him because that'll fuck up the timeline. Look, I understand that you all want to respresent different ethnicities. But you forget that Jem Carstairs is only half chinese. You forget Cordelia is only half persian.

I'm not saying to not give them representation. They deserve all the representation they get. I'm just saying that not acknowledging their british halves is also a kind of ignorance. You should represent them for their whole selves, not just the one side that you want to exploit so you look more welcoming to other races. Acknowledge their full ethnicities, not just half.

So don't fancast Jem as a full on Chinese boy. Don't draw Cordelia so dark-skinned she looks like a full-blown persian. If you want to, of course, you can do whatever the hell you want. But please just acknowledge that that isn't their full ethnicities. They aren't just chinese and persian.
