that's it oh boy it vaguely differs based on what I’m writing one shots just have one document where only writing is done all planning is in my head for long stuff though most planning stays in my head or lives in my text messages to one specific friend i have done the method of keeping an organized binder i do like that one for stories with lots of lore and events i really need to keep track of it’s easy to move pages around to fit into other categories i put big events on sticky notes so i can easily move things around on the timeline having a big physical thing in front of me helps but then there are some long form stuff where i can’t write any of it down at all or else i’ll be entirely unable to write without the note i hate looking at notes while writing notes are to look at during planning and editing at least that’s how i work it’s worked out for me so far
