being an art student is so funny wdym im building a shrine dedicated to Beatles fangirls and fangirl culture?? Also I made that button myself!!
So The Chaperone is my fav ep in part because of the Dolenzmith undercurrents of Mike seeming pretty smitten/teasing the whole ep
But I also like it because it feels like homage to Some Like it Hot...and is still Dolenzmithy in the way it does that:
-Musician(s) needing to dress up as women
-Micky having a similar outfit/style that Jerry/Daphne has at one point
Also having a similar personality of being a rough-around-the-edges 'for a lady' kind of 'girl' that makes the rich older man obsessed.
-Notable: this sparkly-dress is also the outfit both get engaged in.
-also notable that both specifically call the respective older man 'fresh' at least once for making physical advances.
so the DIFFERENCE?
At the end, with the potential happily ever after-- Jerry calls into question sailing off together. He rips off his own wig and declares he's a man. Osgood doesn't give a fuck and they potentially stay married, rich and happy.
Meanwhile, the one who puts a stop to Micky's 'sailing away together' daydream is Mike saying 'Micky will you please tell him?'
And it's Vandenberg who rips off Micky's wig.
And Mike who Micky's with after the 'reveal'.
Like okay.
Guys why is he like this
No seriously what is the context? What is wrong with him
Hamburg starrison dynamic that appeared in my head one day where both are convinced they're entirely heterosexual men doing a cute little queer a favor
