Hacks happen. Accounts get disabled. We’ve also recently seen big websites like Cartoon Network, MTV News, and Comedy Central get shut down by corporate interests. Social media, the cloud, corporate websites are just someone else’s computer. And you don’t have control over it.

Remember LOCKSS: Lots of Copies Keeps Stuff Safe.

If you want to keep it have personal copies and back them up regularly.

Get one (or a few) external hard drives and set a calendar reminder that x times a year you back up your stuff. Open all emails from cloud hosting companies you might use (no ugly we are selling your stuff to some AI company or shutting down surprises).

i really do like the social features in death stranding. I like that as im helping out the NPCs im also helping out other real human beings, and in that small way they're letting me know. The little "Someone used a road you built!" popup!! When theres a bridge right where you need it, because someone else also needed it. People putting down little decorations wherever, and getting to rest where someone else has.
