Goodbye Mr. Lynch I’ll see you in my dreams
“Law itself may not only punish crime, but improvise it, and the law of professional lawyers is very apt to work in this direction. Thus, it has been justly remarked by an eminent historian, that the Catholic clergy of the medieval times, with its dark views of human nature, introduced by its influence into criminal legislation, has created more crimes than forgiven sins.”
— Marx, Population, Crime, and Pauperism (1859)
Goodbye Mr. Lynch I’ll see you in my dreams
Certainly i am so brain dead rn i think i am gonna fly into the unknown before i die happy
"Nowhere is the power of capital, the power of a handful of billionaires over the whole of society, so crude and as openly corrupt as in America. Once capital exists, it dominates the whole of society, & no...form of franchise (voting) can alter the essence of the matter.”
— V.I. Lenin (1919)
The role of critique in communism is limited and its purpose is to improve the functioning of the Party, by identifying concrete problems and supplying concrete solutions. If your "critique" of the PRC is just moralist whining about their development strategy, and you offer no concrete steps for improvement of the CPC, then you are not forwarding a critique, you're just publishing freelance anticommunist propaganda.
It's funny that On Contradiction is one of the only truly timeless works of Marxist theory but the reason why it's a timeless work of Marxist theory is because its central thesis is "communists must do the work to understand the specifics of their own time and place and develop their own new revolutionary theory and analysis for it instead of blindly clinging to decades-old theoretical works of past luminaries."
"copyright is good in theory" did you know that you can digitize books and then have infinite copies so in theory every book, every piece of information ever written and published could be shared across the world basically for free but any attempts to actually do this get shut down by copyright lawyers?
Sometimes profound.Other days its just misery. Musings soon
