Well damn
i was on the bleach subreddit (braver than the us marines etc etc) and someone pointed out that momo's sword transformed mid-swing without her calling for it, which is something that apparently only happens when someone's achieved bankai. MOMO BANKAI ANYONE...
Heres my own redesign of s1 Nya I did for funsies!
I always wished she had a less formal outfit (because lets face it, a qipao isn’t exactly casual) but it was too iconic to just completely remove, so I gave her a jacket! I also added some subtle hints to her being a mechanic/Samurai X; her toolbelt, goggles and the oil smudge on her cheek!
Not much else I would really change about her character in s1 (except her … questionable writing but that’s a talk for another day..,,!)
Some alternate titles.
hey, just noticed that you liked one of my manga colorings. glad to see you appreciated my nearly decade old post and seeing other bleach fans :')
No problem! Your manga edits are pretty colorful especially the Oetsu ones lol. I wasn't really into manga/anime back then so now I'm just seeing what awesome fan work was made during the Bleach manga's run. You should reblog some of them, they're really good!
I thought Shinken Hakkyōken was a cool reveal and I wished we got more backstory to it and I'm hoping we might get some in the anime and/or hell arc.
I always thought it was a failsafe in case the Soul King broke free. When the seals on him were removed his powers did attack the Sereitei and the Shinigami.
My guess is that it was specifically designed by Oetsu to combat the Soul King. Oetsu's bodyguards are examples of zanpakuto with built in powers.
It was revealed that the Ise Clan suffers from a curse that kills all men that marry into the family and also that they only birth daughters.
Nanao's mother speculated that it was Shinken Hakkyōken's doing.
It made me think about the incorrect relationships between Shinigami and zanpakuto that could develop which were mentioned by Oetsu.
I also thought of Oetsu having a harem of female zanpakuto spirits to serve him. I think maybe Shinken Hakkyōken has a similar mindset as his creator and sees the Ise Clan as his wives and him as their true husband.
Oetsu regulates male zanpakuto to working behind the scenes. But I think Shinken Hakkyōken is more extreme so kills off their husbands and ensures they only have daughters.

2/5. Orihime Inoue ~ The Princess
Why?
She’s ridiculously quirky and really wholesome, which really added a layer of emotion to the series as the character who could be empathic with so many individuals. Her struggles and belief she builds within herself in her friends and Ichigo is beautiful to see through the show. She’s a human teenager who wasn’t built for fighting like her friends but she still tries her best to help out and genuinely has a good heart void of killing intent.
The Orihime/Riruka interaction is even wholesome when you find out Orihime calls Riruka multiple times after TYBW lmao
Showing compassion in front of those who wronged you or are against you is hard to do. For Orihime, it’s her nature to be kind and non-aggressive even to those who hurt her. It’s a sentiment that one would usually discard especially in a lot of shows. However, I see Orihime being this way as reaching out to them because she knows they’re hurting on the inside like Sora and Riruka, or that they need to load power over her like Loly.
Throughout those experiences, she’s been able to keep her compassionate nature even in the face of all this. Obviously, I could keep on harping on how this makes her stand out from multiple other characters, but I’ll try not to. Her Fullbring powers are to reject phenomenon and I see her nature as an symbol of that, where outside events don’t get to her even in dark times, that she keeps true to herself no mater what.
We As one: are not intertwined. As two: do not share the same form. Of the third: we simply don't have eyes. Of the fourth: we have no hope in that direction. At the fifth therein lies the heart. - Bleach Vol. 27
Ichigo’s conflict in the Arcancar Arc was centered around protecting his friends to the point that he wouldn’t trust them to fight with him or confide with them. Orihime also goes through something like this, which that she goes to Hueco Mundo without telling them, so Ulquiorra wouldn’t hurt them. However in her heart, she was glad Ichigo and others came for her and even had a moment where Ichigo’s mysterious Hollowifaction scared her. The very thing Ichigo strived work towards to protect her and those they loved.
I especially look towards her pacifist nature being clear when Grimmjow demands she heals Ichigo so Grimmjow can kill him at full power in a new fight. Complete opposite of Unohana learning healing Kido to extend her fights, right? That’s why it ends beautifully when Orihime realizes Ichigo’s Hollow power shouldn't get in the way of her trust in him to end the fight. She comes forth to listen to her heart and gets past the idea of no hope, the Hollow eyes she stared into, Ichigo’s masked form, and believes in those she cares about. She doesn’t despair.
To finish it off, her growth in the Fullbring arc is good to see pay off especially where she has faith in Ichigo to make it through, that she’ll heal him even if it gives him the opportunity to get hurt again. Plus, she even develops her Fullbring ability to the point where she can defend and reactively attack at the same time, thus keeping true to her nature while fighting back. Orihime is genuinely a character who I love from her quirky & kind nature but to also how human she is in dealing with things outside of her control, and her internal growth towards her friends.

Sorry, but Tumblr only allows 30 photos per post so there's a Part 3 of this mini-series.

Good questions tbh
They said they used Reishi to create space in the Seireitei's shadows, and everything in the Soul Society is made of Reishi, so I guess that whole Shadow realm was literally part of the Soul Society's composition like it's other half. Plus, couldn't Quincy hide their reiatsu like Shinigami do?
Hueco Mundo still has tons of Hollows in it that would come and go from the World of Living to Hueco Mundo. Hollows would go after the Quincy there and get killed, which would be troublesome, possibly alerting the SS if the balance of souls gets tilted. It also gets rid of the territorial advantage the Quincy had by staying in the Soul Society's shadows and avoiding the "Soul Shield Membrane" which vaporizes Reishi. https://bleach.fandom.com/wiki/Sekkiseki
Quilge (The Quincy guy I assume you're talking about) was using his Reishi subordination to make the hollow/Ayon part of him. He mentioned it was unholy to him. This post talks about that stuff and has a manga panel where Quilge said the Ayon monster he absorbed was corrupting his holy wings. Ayon wasn't the Tres Bestia's true power so Quilge could somewhat integrate that Hollow into himself But he wouldn't be able to do the same to Resurrecion which is a Arcancar Hollow's true power. ihttps://saranel.tumblr.com/post/156307147675/remember-those-bankai-hollowify-pills-urahara-made
Oh yeah, the brainwashed Arcancar soldier has that Quincy cross which allowed him to use Reishi like a Quincy could, I don't think the Quincy powers were actually integrated into that Arcancar. Plus, Yhwach probably granted him the ability through that cross.
Honestly, I think Kubo should have had Urahara bring in that Tenshintai doll or something based on it, considering it manifests a Zanpakuto spirit in the Soul Society. They could have focused on the zanpakuto's spirit's bond with a Shinigami but then the Quincy's medallions could have recaptured them or the medallion is literally forcing the Zanpakuto spirit away from it's owner. https://comicvine.gamespot.com/tenshintai/4055-49138/
Just watch a few clips on youtube while skimming through the wiki and I have. so many questions.
* How did none of the scientist in bleach notice any of the thousands Quincies building up their strength right under the Seireitei?
* Why is it suddenly impossible to detect another dimension when Hueco Mundo (and the Valley of Screams if you’re a novelist truther) were so easy to find when they’re spiritual pressure went up?
* Wouldn’t it make more sense to put the shadow dimension in Hueco Mundo since it’s been far less researched and the giant amounts of hollow Reishi that’s build of could have disguised the Quincies well? Especially since YHWACH is basically a Hollow that nobody had a chance to put down?
* Why is hollow said to have been poisonous to Quincies and yet that n@zi based Quincy was able to observe it’s powers pretty easily? And how does it explain the brainwashed Arrancar soldier we saw in the first Episode?
* Why didn’t the show just create a telepathy booster for bankai users to be able to reconnect with their bankais even after they’ve been stolen to showcase how strong a bond can be between the sword and it’s user instead of these last minute hollow pills that were mostly just fan service for Toshiro fans?
Happy New Year everyone! 🥳 🎇2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣
BLEACH × BURN THE WITCH Happy New Year
Ninjago rewatches always mess me up because I am now burdened with the knowledge that these two scenes were happening at roughly the same time on opposite sides of town
I found someone calling orihime a bad person for not telling tatsuki about where she was going
I swear these get more desperate
Like right before she and the gang decided to go to Soul Society to save Rukia?
Because I could see how one could feel for Tatsuki whose unfortunately kept in the dark at that point, and what repercussions would occur if Orihime died without Tatsuki knowing, but it's pointless to badmouth Orihime for that.
Like there's an afterlife of swordsmen who aren't afraid to kill you if you and your friends decide to go into their domain to rescue a prisoner , and you want to keep your best friend away from the crazy thing you're about to do which is very protective of Orihime to do for Tatsuki.
Kubo's end of chapter illustrations and chapter titles depict Tatsuki as a dragon, which suits her nature of wanting to take action especially if she knew what Orihime was getting herself into. Btw, Tatsuki had a broken arm and no notable powers before the Soul Society arc, but she would still try to go with Orihime if she knew.
But I guess some people wouldn't understand wanting to keep your friend away from dangerous situations huh? On another note, I do wish she told Tatsuki about everything after they came back from Soul Society, considering how calm things were before Yammy and Ulquiorra showed up
