What is this about?

"Whereas:

The world is becoming increasingly hostile to transgender and nonbinary individuals;

Transgender and nonbinary people's rights to live as themselves are being restricted and removed in many places;

This includes the so-called "Western democracies" which have historically been presumed safe;

The United Kingdom is revising their Equality Act to exclude trans people from its protections;

More than a dozen American states have enacted or are considering legislation eliminating or criminalizing gender-affirming care; and

Canada has prided itself on being an inclusive, tolerant, and welcoming society for everyone regardless of gender identity or gender expression.

We, the undersigned, residents of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to extend to transgender and nonbinary people the right to claim asylum in Canada by reason of eliminationist laws in their home countries, whatever country that may be."

It's better to give people an exit plan, and just hope they won't need it, then to do nothing and assume they'll be fine. Help us keep making Canada a positive place for everyone. on top of the current political situation surrounding trans healthcare, i was in a bad car accident yesterday during a storm and our car has been totalled and my phone was shattered, and i had to go to the er (less than a week from when i had to go for an allergic reaction) where i had the worst medical experience of my life. we are a one car household and i rely on that vehicle for my job. our gas bill is also unexpectedly high, and i need to take my cat to the vet for a dental cleaning.

my mother is going to be helping pay for a new car and possibly repairs to my phone, and our emergency savings will also go towards this situation, but we are going to need help with things like paying groceries, feeding our cats, rent, bills, and more, as i will not be able to get tips from delivery driving which provide a significant part of my fiance's and my income. i'm going to try to raise $750, with a stretch goal of $1000. it's big, but anything we don't use on our immediate survival will be going straight into our savings to try to rebuild.

I really hate to do this but I really gotta ask y'all for some help here. We're trying to save up for my partner's testosterone and top surgery cause his mental health is being absolutely destroyed by dysphoria but life just keeps shooting us in the foot with unexpected costs whenever we get a small boost so we're running out of options to get him sorted before his mental health gets much worse.

We've researched the cheapest safe way to get this done and it's looking like it's gonna cost us about £6k more than we've got saved. If anyone could spare anything to help a disabled kinky furry artist get comfortable in his own skin it would be 100% appreciated!

Did you know „conversion therapy“ is still not banned in most European countries? 

Conversion therapy describes cruel, abusive  attempts to force someone to change their sexual orientation or gender identity. It has been proven to not only not work but also cause lasting damage and trauma and greatly increase suicide risks. The United Nations has qualified it as what it is: torture.

This official petition is calling on the European Commission to do three important things:

Ban conversion practices across the EU – by proposing a new law or strengthening existing ones.

Protect victims – by updating victim rights laws so survivors get the support they deserve.

Make sure all EU countries act – either by introducing a ban or improving weak laws.

SIGN THE PETITION HERE 

They need 1 million signatures from EU citizens by tomorrow (May 17, 2025) to make the EU act. This is not just a symbolic number! If they reach that number, the European Commission is legally required to respond and consider turning it into law.
